LINDA
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior. Outside our window we see
the beauty of God's creation. Bright pink, purple and white petunias
smile up to the warm sun. Big white, fluffy clouds play chase on a sea
of bright blue sky. The world is beautiful if we take time to see. Each
day is warmer and brighter, and soon our short rains will begin. How good
the Lord is to provide our every need. "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for
he IS good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of
the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from
the lands..
weeks have been sorrowful yet full of victory. On Wednesd^
the 8th of September Linda went in for her monthly examination. The ^
doctor was unable to find the baby's heartbeat and recommended that we
go and have an ultrasound examination done, which we were able to do that
afternoon. It was then that we found out that the baby had died. After
blood tests, Linda went into the hospital Thursday afternoon to have the /
labor induced. She delivered Friday night at 7:30. The baby bad become /
entangled in the ombilical cord and strangled. Otherwise it was a N
perfectly normal hoy. Linda got out of the hospital Saturday morning and /
nas now been home for a week and a half. She is feeling fine. The Lord
has really been a source of strength and love during this time. He saw \
to It that some of our closest friends were in Nairobi when we found ^
out and used them to help comfort us and give us strength. It is really
wonderful to know the Lord's love and grace during times of trouble.
Many people who found out earlier have already written and told us of their
prayers. We have really felf those prayers and God has given us his grace
in a special way.
When we came to work with Daystar the words of Psalm 138:8 "The Lord will'^
fulfill his purpose on my behalf" were especially significant and meaning
ful to us. During this time these word and the words of verse 7 "Though
I walk in the midst of trouble thou wilt revive me" are a real comfort and
promise to us.
VJe had originally planned to have the baby here and return to the States
as soon after the birth as we were able. Ron*s research for the T^nreached
People's Project can be completed by the end of October xf he does not tabe
on some teaching responsibilities he had intended to do. We have decided
to leave here Octohcr 26th, visit Linda's brother in Boston and Ron's
brother in Milwaukee. Then we will have Th-inksgiving vTith Linda's folks
and Christmas with Eon's family in Fairbanks.

land that have resulted in our having a concern for the evangelism of this
people. Several of the OffershavbehccuragGd us to come back to help with
this work. In between Thanksgiving and Christmas we will go to the board
meeting of CMF -in Colorado Springs, and apply to work with .piF-among the .
