Dear Preschool Parents,

Its hard to believe that the 29

th
year of pre-school is about to begin. We hope you had a safe and fun-
filled summer.

I would like to take this time to introduce our teachers this year. Carolyn Jones will serve as Preschool
Director and Lead teacher again this year. Jennifer Duncan will be serving as teacher this year. She
comes to us with 15 years of preschool teaching experience. Jennifer is from the Brownstown area.
Also, Shannon (Meyer) Garrison will be serving as another teacher this year. She has been involved with
the preschool for several years as a parent volunteer. Florence Otte will be serving as a volunteer again
this year. We are truly excited about the new year ahead. Many new activities and lessons are planned
for the upcoming year.
The 4/5 year old class (Sunbeams) will meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning
August 18. The 3/4 year old class (Rainbows) will meet on Monday and Wednesday beginning August 18.
And the 2/3 class will meet on Fridays beginning September 5. All classes will be held from 9:00-11:30.
We ask that you not bring your child before 8:45 each day. We will follow the Seymour Community
Schools calendar. If the Seymour Schools are canceled due to bad weather, we will not have school. If
they have a delay in arrival time, we will not have school. Please listen to the Seymour and Columbus
radio stations for cancellations. We are BORCHERS PRESCHOOL not to be confused with St. Pauls Pre-
school.

DROP OFF and PICK UP
DROP OFF- Please enter the North drive by the main entrance of the church and proceed around to the
preschool side of the building using the road behind the church to enter the parking area of the
preschool.

PICK-UP- Please enter the North drive by the main entrance of the church and LINE UP CARS ON THE
ROAD BEHIND THE CHURCH LEADING TO THE PRESCHOOL SIDE OF THE BUILDING. (please be careful
when nearing the preschool as children may be on the playground.)

ITEMS TO BRING
Your child will need a backpack with his/her first and last name printed on it. When your child brings a
jacket or coat, please put his/her name on the tag. Thank you!

LIBRARY BOOKS
Each child will get the opportunity to check out library books each week to take home. We encourage
parents to read the books with their children and return them to school the following week or when
finished so they can get a new book.

SNACKS
Approximately once every month, your child will be responsible for snacks. Your childs name will
appear on the school calendar on the day he/she is to bring the snack. A suggested list is attached. If
your childs birthday is during the school year, he/she will have snacks for the day closest to his/her
birthday. If your childs birthday is during the summer months, we will have a summer birthday party
near the end of the school year. The number of snacks to bring will be listed at the top of the school
calendar each month.

SUPPLIES FOR THE CLASSROOM

Snack Suggestions and Ideas

Anything you wish to bring is fine, but here are some suggestions:

Fresh fruit, cereal treats, applesauce, graham crackers, raw veggies, cookies, pretzels, popcorn, crackers,
etc. Please send cupcakes only on Birthdays as they can be quite messy! Please let us know of any
food allergies that your child may have.

Drinks will be provided each day, but if you wish to bring a drink with your snack that is fine. Also if you
have a snack that you would like the children to help prepare, please let the teachers know and we will
be glad to work that into our schedule.
