    BeItEnactedbytheLegislatureoftheStateof(STATE):

    SECTION1.SHORTTITLE.

    Thisactshallbeknownandmaybecitedasthe"(STATE)4thAmendmentProtectionAct."

    SECTION2.PROHIBITIONONASSISTANCETOFEDERALAGENCIESENGAGEDIN
    ILLEGALCOLLECTIONOFELECTRONICDATAORMETADATA

    Thisstateanditspoliticalsubdivisionsshallnotassist,participatewith,orprovidematerial
    supportorresourcestoenableorfacilitate,afederalagencyinthecollectionoruseofa
    personselectronicdataormetadata,withoutthatpersonsinformedconsent,orwithouta
    warrant,baseduponprobablecause,thatparticularlydescribestheperson,place,orthingto
    besearchedorseized,orwithoutactinginaccordancewithalegallyrecognizedexceptionto
    thewarrantrequirements.

    SECTION3.SEVERABILITY

    Theprovisionsofthisactareherebydeclaredtobeseverableandifanyprovisionofthisact
    ortheapplicationofsuchprovisiontoanypersonorcircumstanceisdeclaredinvalidforany
    reason,suchdeclarationshallnotaffectthevalidityoftheremainingportionsofthisact.

    SECTION4.EFFECTIVEDATE

    ThisacttakeseffectuponapprovalbytheGovernor.

    Changealltextin(CAPSANDPARENTHESIS)tobespecifictoyourstate.

    Definitions:ApotentialchangetotheabovetextincludedefinitionsforElectronic
    communicationservice,electronicdevice,electronicdata,metadata,and
    remotecomputingservice.

    Warrantexceptions:Insteadoflistingthebroadphraseoflegallyrecognized
    exceptiontothewarrantrequirements,thebillcouldspecifytheexactexceptionsina
    subsection.
