Ecclesiastes - The Search for Meaning - This August, please join us at Cedar Church as we wrestle with the meaning of life as 'it really is!' What do we do when work seems so tedious, life is unfair, fools get ahead, nothing makes us happy, old age treats us with cruelty, and our eventual death seems so depressing? The Preacher hopes to answer that question by looking at the futility of life fromGod's high and wise perspective. Pastor Steve invites you to jump feet-first into life's most knotty questions as we travel through the twelve winding and circuitous chapters of the Book of Ecclesiastes.
Sunday School Reminder The summer quarter of Sunday school concludes next Sunday, August 10. Autumn quarter will begin Sunday, September 7.

Ottawa County Jail Ministry Today Cedar Church will host a chapel service at the Ottawa County Jail from1:45 PM - 3:00 PM. Please keep the men in your prayers as they minister to the inmates.
Friday Night Hike - Our next summer hike with Pastor Steve will be held Friday, August 8. Meet Pastor Steve at 7:30 PM at Hemlock Crossing Park, located in Port Sheldon Township at 8115 West Olive Road, West Olive, MI 49460. Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle, flashlight, and BUG SPRAY. Sign up at the table.
Bike Hike with Pastor Ken - Saturday August 16 is the date of the next Cedar Bike Ride, beginning at 9:00 am. This ride, for teens and adults, will be a 15 mile loop through the Kent Trails and MillenniumPark. If you have any questions please contact Ken Smith. We will meet at the Clean Water Plant, just off Baldwin Street in Jenison. Be sure to sign up today.
Church Picnic The annual Church Picnic is schedule for August 23, 4:30-7 p.m. at the Allendale Community Park (located behind the Township Office, 6676 Lake Michigan Dr., Allendale). Fried Chicken, beverages and place settings provided. To help with planning please sign up today.
20142015 Cedar Womens Ministry This September, we are excited that our Cedar Womens Ministry will relaunch for the new year. Are you interested in using your gifts, skills and passions to serve our church family here at Cedar? If so, please speak with coordinator Joan Broene, as we make plans for our annual September planning meeting.

Puritan Reformed Conference - Please consider attending the 2014 Puritan Reformed conference, The Beauty & Glory of Christs Bride, August 21 - 23. This conference will be held at the beautiful Prince Conference Center (1800 East Beltline Ave., GR, MI) and will feature speakers Michael Barrett, Joel Beeke, Gerald Bilkes, TimGeiger, Conrad Mbewe, David Murray, and William VanDoodewaard. Fresh Produce/Fresh Fruit - Love In the Name of Christ is willing and pleased to receive your donation of extra fruits or vegetables grown in your gardens this summer and early fall. Our budgeting class clients would love to make use of these items for their families. Please bring the items to the Love INC office at 3300 Van Buren, Hudsonville and make sure to label the items for the LOVING HELP Program(LHP). Questions-contact Norma or Tonia at (616) 662-3300.
Transportation Volunteer Needed - Love In the Name of Christ is in need of one or two individuals who are willing to help schedule the transportation ministry volunteers. This person would be taking calls fromclients regarding their doctors appointments, talking with drivers and scheduling the transport, then inputting the transport into the computer. Administrator Needed - Zion Christian School is seeking a full- time administrator for grades pre-K through 12. Responsibilities include financial management, management of non-academic staff, management of facilities, and participation in and oversight of fund-raising and development. Worship Service Cedar Church strives to enjoy God through Spirit-empowered and Christ-centered worship. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday.
Nursery Childcare is available near the entrance of the gymnasium for children 0-3 years old, but children of all ages are always welcome in the worship service.
Coffee Break After the morning worship, please join us in the gymfor coffee and refreshments.
Kids Break After morning worship, all kids (Preschool thru 6th grade) are invited to the orchestra roomfor snacks and fun songs.
Sunday School From11 12pm, Cedar Church offers classes for all ages. Visitors are especiallywelcome!
