National Rifle Association Gives A Rating to Paul Renner
for Florida House District 15
Jacksonville, Fla. Republican Candidate Paul Renner today announced that the
National Rifle Association (NRA) has given him an A rating in his campaign for
Florida House District 15, which includes the western part of Jacksonville.
In a letter to Paul Renner, the NRA wrote, We are pleased to inform you that your
strong expressions of support for Second Amendment during your interview, along with
your responses to our 2014 Questionnaire in support of Second Amendment, self-
defense, and anti-crime issues have earned you an A rating.
I am honored to receive an A rating from the National Rifle Association and a pro
gun designation from the Unified Sportsmen of Florida, said Renner. Given the
chance to represent District 15 in the Florida House, I intend to vigorously defend the
constitutional rights enshrined in the Second Amendment, including the right of
Floridians to defend themselves and their families, as well as ensuring that the gun rights
of our sportsmen are fully protected.
Since launching his campaign to represent Florida House District 15, Renner has received
the endorsements of U.S. Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL), State Senator John
Thrasher (R-St. Augustine), and numerous other conservative leaders.
Renner was raised in Jacksonville and is a graduate of Davidson College and the
University of Florida, Levin College of Law. He served 23-years in the US Navy on both
active duty and in the reserves, including deployments in support of combat operations
during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and in Afghanistan in 2011. His personal awards
include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy
Achievement Medal, among others. He also served as an assistant state attorney, earning
a strong reputation for his successful efforts to prosecute serious felony offenses.
Renner is an attorney and partner at Milam Howard Nicandri Dees and Gillam, P.A.,
where he represents many local businesses. He is active in the community and has served
as President of the Jacksonville Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society and as
