Republican Candidate Paul Renner today announced that the National Rifle Association (NRA) has given him an A rating in his campaign for Florida House District 15, which includes the western part of Jacksonville. In a letter to Paul Renner, the NRA wrote, We are pleased to inform you that your strong expressions of support for Second Amendment during your interview, along with your responses to our 2014 Questionnaire in support of Second Amendment, self- defense, and anti-crime issues have earned you an A rating. I am honored to receive an A rating from the National Rifle Association and a pro gun designation from the Unified Sportsmen of Florida, said Renner. Given the chance to represent District 15 in the Florida House, I intend to vigorously defend the constitutional rights enshrined in the Second Amendment, including the right of Floridians to defend themselves and their families, as well as ensuring that the gun rights of our sportsmen are fully protected. Since launching his campaign to represent Florida House District 15, Renner has received the endorsements of U.S. Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL), State Senator John Thrasher (R-St. Augustine), and numerous other conservative leaders. Renner was raised in Jacksonville and is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. He served 23-years in the US Navy on both active duty and in the reserves, including deployments in support of combat operations during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and in Afghanistan in 2011. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Navy Achievement Medal, among others. He also served as an assistant state attorney, earning a strong reputation for his successful efforts to prosecute serious felony offenses. Renner is an attorney and partner at Milam Howard Nicandri Dees and Gillam, P.A., where he represents many local businesses. He is active in the community and has served as President of the Jacksonville Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society and as PAUL RENNER FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE | PAGE 2 General Counsel to the Duval County Republican Party. He also participates in a number of civic and professional organizations, including his Rotary and the Westside Business Leaders Association.
