Each Sunday in August one Worship Service at 9:30am

Place your S.H.A.R.E. order on or before Monday, August 11 at the Information
Center or by calling the church office at 703-521-7663. S.H.A.R.E. distribution day is
Saturday, August 23 in the Multipurpose Room from 6:008:45am. The S.H.A.R.E.
menu is attached.

Christian Education Update

Discipleship Class Facilitators

Class Facilitators are needed for the upcoming September 2014 classes. Interested
persons must have previously graduated from the discipleship program, or is a
seasoned leader or member who is able to teach. This will require a three-year
commitment, one night per week. All interested persons please see or contact (703-
521-7663) Dea. Gifford and Sister Karen Brown or Min. Tonia Heggs, no later than
August 31, 2014.

Discipleship Registration 2014

Calling all returning and new Disciples! Registration for the Fall 2014 classes
begins Sunday, July 27, through Sunday, September 21, 2014. Classes begin
the week of September 14
th
. Please register in the Narthex at the Information Center
or online at www.mbcva.ws. Please see or contact (703-521-7663) Dea. Gifford and
Sister Karen Brown or Minister Tonia Heggs for more info.


Homecoming Sunday is September 14 at 9:30am. Homecoming will be at Wakefield
High School. More details to come.

MBC Bazaar! Saturday, September 13, Macedonia will have a community bazaar.
We are inviting you to be a vendor to showcase your products. See the attached flyer
and registration form attached.

Its time to celebrate those that have taken the three year journey to be stronger in
their faith. Thats right its time for the Discipleship Graduation! This celebration is
scheduled for Saturday, September 27 at 3pm. See the attached flyer for additional
details.

The New Horizons Resource Ministry (NHRM) (employment inquiries) can be

COMMUNITY NEWS:


Reserve a Picnic Shelter
In efforts to better serve our community, beginning August 1 the picnic shelters at
Hayes, Madison Manor and Lacey Woods parks will be available for reservation. Look
out for an updated webpage providing more detail.

Arlington County Fair
Join in on the fun August 8-10 as Thomas Jefferson Community Center is transformed
into a special place with something for everyone to see. Enjoy competitive
exhibits, midway rides and games, entertainment, vendors, racing piglets and more.
This is one of the largest free events on the East Coast and has been providing quality
entertainment for more than 35 years. Shuttle service is provided from locations
throughout Arlington. For more info visit our fair page.

FREE 4-H Workshop: STEM
Have you heard of 4-H? Ever wondered what kids can do in an urban 4-H club? Au-
gust 16, 10 a.m.-noon join the Virginia Cooperative Extension at Fairlington
Community Center, for a two-hour workshop to learn more about 4-H and have fun
with some awesome hands-on activities in STEM (science, technology, engineering
and math). All kids and parents welcome!

Nauck Community Services Center needs your assistance in making school supplies
available to youth in need in the community. See the attached flyer for more details.

Empowering Me a two day womens conference. See the attached flyer for all the
details.


Bible Study Schedule
7pm

Each 1st Wednesday will be Corporate Prayer and Praise. Everyone is encouraged
and invited to attend.
Every 2nd Wednesday of the month will be Pastors Bible Study which is open to
everyone.
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month will be Mens and Womens Bible Study.
Each 4th Wednesday will be Young Adult Bible Study.
The 5th Wednesday of each month will be Leadership Night. All leaders of MBC
will meet with Pastor Hamlin.

Parents, while you are in service or performing ministry, please be mindful that you are
responsible to know where your children are at all times. If you permit them to leave you
for restroom breaks, etc., they must return to you at an appropriate time and not be left
unsupervised. We appreciate your cooperation.

MBCs Annual Cookout is Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Lake Accotink Park,
Springfield, VA. MBC will prepare the hotdogs, hamburgers, fried fish and have the
beverage. You can bring your basket of side dish(es), fruit and dessert to share!
