About the Company
Aban Power Company Ltd (Aban Power)
is a subsidiary of Lanco Infratech Ltd (LITL).
It was incorporated in 1997 to build and operate
the Tanjavur power project of the TNEB, in 2003.
The plant commenced its operation in 2005. As
on Mar 31, 2008 LITL owned a 51.02% stake in
Aban Power while its other partners, Gentings
and Aban Loyd Chiles Offshore Ltd together
owned the balance of 48.08%. Aban Power has
entered into a long-term fuel supply agreement
with GAIL for the supply of natural gas and
a PPA with TNEB for the supply of the entire
power generated for a period of 15 years.
Areas of Operation
Aban Power operates a 120 MW gas based
combined cycle power plant located at Karuppur
village in TN. The project has one gas turbine
generator unit of 68.6 MW rated capacity,
one heat recovery steam generator and one
steam turbine generator unit of 51.2 MW rated
capacity, apart from other required facilities.
In FY08, Aban Power generated 893 MU of
electricity as compared to 859 MU of electricity
generated in the previous year. During the same
period the plant availability of the company
stood at 95.72% as compared to 96.24% in the
previous year. The plant is certied with ISO
14001 and OHSAS 18001 quality certications.

About the Company
Andhra Pradesh Gas Power Corporation
Limited (APGPCL) was established in the
year 1988. The company is promoted by APSEB
in association with industries in the private
and public sector to supplement power supply
from grid.
Areas of Operation
The company is engaged in the business of
power generation. It generates power with the
help of two thermal power plants having a total
installed capacity of 272 MW. The company
operates through a 172 MW gas based
combined cycle power plant comprising 112 MW
gas turbine generators & 60 MW steam turbine
generators and a 100 MW gas based combined
cycle power plant comprising two gas turbine
generators of 33 MW and one steam turbine
generators of 34 MW capacity.
In FY08, APGPCL generated 1,144.59 MU
of electricity at an average PLF of 67%.
The company is developing a Gas Turbo Power
Station located at about 10 km from Kovvur,
West Godavari District in AP spread over an
area of 15.83 acres.
