This course focuses on providing knowledge and developing skills and
attitude toward pediatric nursing strategies. It involves growth and
development, fundamental of pediatric nursing, family dynamic, stress,
physical assessment and current concepts in pediatric nursing.

Pathophysiology ) (
This course is designed to explore the principles of body functions and
pathophysiological changes that occur as a result of disease and homeostatic
changes in the body. Epidemiology, pathophysiological mechanisms, related
system interaction and total functioning are examined.

Pediatric Medicine ( )
The course is designed to provide the nursing student with comprehensive
knowledge about the physical assessment, normal growth and development
from infancy to adolescence. Comprehensive understanding of common
health problems of children are integrated into the course.

Child Psychology ( )
This course reviews psychological, psychosocial, cognitive, moral and
spiritual development of children with emphasis on its application in nursing
practice. It also expands students knowledge and skills in behavior
assessment and modification as well as self-concept and body image.

Pediatric Pharmacology ( )
After completion of this course, the student will be able to administer drugs
to children safely and competency.

Paediatric Nursing Seminars

This course is designed to promote the nursing student to deal with an
evidence-based approach to nursing practice. The student will have the
opportunity to study pediatric problems in wellness and illness in the light of
research process, so that she will be prepared to use research finding into
nursing practice.
Accidents in children( )
After completion of this course, the student will be able to identify children
at risk, determine causes of injuries in childhood, and adolescence, and
practice preventive measures, and effective strategies for dealing with
different childhood accidents.

Therapeutic Nutrition in Children

After completion of this course, the student will be able to identify children
having nutritional problems related to different body systems, as well as its
therapeutic management.

This course is designed for the master students to have comprehensive
knowledge about needs and problems of children in different stages of life. It
will allow the students to identify the impact of chronic illness and
handicapping on children, their families and care of those children at the
hospital.

Modern Technology in Pediatric Nursing

After completion of this course, the student will be able to utilize technology
in theory and clinical practice in pediatric settings.

Pediatric Surgery ( (


This course focuses on surgical intervention related to critically ill children
including pre and postoperative management. Congenital and acquired
surgical problems in children related to different body system will be
emphasized.
