New Jersey's Action Park to debut ZERO-G
water slide with a nearly 1,000-foot drop
The ride begins with daredevils climbing 99 stairs to the top, and then stepping into a
clear, fully enclosed 'launch capsule' before being dropped into a tube.

This is where the action is.
New Jerseys Action Park this
summer is debuting its biggest
attraction yet the ZERO-G.
The water slide, which cost $1
million to develop, is set to be
the tallest attraction at 540 feet
long with a nearly 1,000-foot
drop.
Its been a year in the making,
said Bill Benneyan, president of
Action Park in Vernon, N.J. Im
so nervous about the
expectations that this slide has.
The ride begins with daredevils
climbing 99 stairs to the top.
Then theyll put themselves into
a clear, fully enclosed launch
capsule, where a trap door will
release and theyll drop into an
enclosed blue tube. Theyll go
through the two major loops
before being greeted by the
splash pool underneath them.
The slide is part of a bigger
rebranding project for the park,
which was mockingly known
Traction Park, Action Park.
The park is also pending the states approval on another new attraction, the
Dropkick, for this summer. But Benneyan and Andy Mulvihill, the principal
owner of Action Park, are already thinking past that.
Were already planning for 2015, said Benneyan.

Chelsea Hirsch... please learn basic math. (And do I mean basic... I'm not even asking you to add! How
can a slide only 540 feet long have a 1000 foot drop? 1000 feet is LONGER than 540, not to mention is it
more than twice as tall as the world's tallest *roller coaster*. Learn to do a sanity check before the idiot
masses go around talking about Action Park's insane new "1000 foot tall" slide. Oh, and I know I
promised only basic math, but if you can handle a little division you would realize that 1000 feet over 99
steps would require 10 foot high steps, taller than any human being.
