The certifi- cates were received by President Dodgie Osabel on June 7, 2009 on the occasion of the 2009 District Awards and Governors Recognition Night. The affair was held at the Philamlife Thea- ter, hosted by the RC of Eastwood and RC of Green Meadows.
On the area of Human Development, the Club was recognized for its efforts in initiating and convening an alliance of neighboring homeowners associa- tions and an educational institution. This alliance called CPPD (Community Partnership for Peace and Devel- opment) has been meeting in order to address pressing community is- sues and needs such as worsening traffic, peace & security, and enter- prise development, among others.
With regard to Preserving Planet Earth, the Club was cited for the Urban Gardening and Food Pro- duction Project which was launched in August 2008. This pro- ject is in partnership with the Don Antonio Heights Homeowners As- sociation, Barangay Holy Spirit, Qu- ezon City government, the Seedling Bank Foundation and nearby homeowners association. Recipients of this outreach activity were children aged 4-14 years old who are stu- dents of Saturday values- formation classes at the Elite Business School owned by PE Linda. Afterwards, the children and their parents were treated to hot macaroni soup. During the regular weekly meeting last June 11, incoming Chair Ped Condeno of the Club Administration Committee presented a proposed program structure for the conduct of meetings together with a matrix on member assign- ments. He also submitted a tentative Schedule of Activi- ties for the RY 2009-2010.
Ped also proposed that the Club vigorously undertake a fund-raising project or projects to generate approximately P250,000 to cover various club expenses like induction rites, members participation to DISCON and DISTAS, Governors Fund, magazine subscriptions, as well as to defray cost of members annual dues.
With regard to topics of interest or value to members, it was also suggested that speakers be invited to talk on the Rotary Constitution and By-laws, on Leadership, Com- puter Literacy, Global Warming, among others.
Barangay Chairman Neneng Valmocina urged the Club to undertake a Tree-Planting project. This activity is tenta- tively scheduled on August 29 th . The barangay will iden- tify the areas which the project will cover. REMINDER: JUNE 29, 2009 CLUB ANNIVERSARY AND TURN-OVER RITES Please block off June 29 in your calen- dars. It is the 4 th anniversary of the RCHS. The Club was chartered as a member of Rotary International on June 29, 2005, the 91 st club in District 3780, and one of six centennial clubs organized during the late PDG George L How- ards term. In addition to commemorating the 4 th anniversary of the club, we will also have the formal turn-over ceremonies from the incum- bent officers to the officers of RY2009-2010. Venue will be announced in due time.
