3.3 Major Specification
Reinforced concrete (No.C30)framework structure and enclosure wallboard, counter flow
induced draft cooling tower. The FRP guide flow plate to be arranged under loop beam in tower
for improve the flow condition inside of tower. The stairs, walkway, handrails, lightning rods,
etc. shall be arranged outside of cooling tower for maintenance. Also the location of the above
parts should be easily for maintenance of fills, fans, motors,etc.
3.3.1 Fans
The fan blades are highly efficient wing typed and formed by the high strength expoxy glass
steel module.The angel of blades can be adjust.Each blades can be interchanged. Polyurethaned
marginal plate to protect against corrosion will be set at the fan blades. The diameter of fan
blade is mmto be filled by bidder.
To keep the fans of the cooling towers operated stable for a long time ,the transimission shaft
adopt the imported carboform shaft and adopt the imported oil seal.
The fans adjuster adopt the strengthen design.
Oil temperature, oil level and vibration supervisory equipments and DCS system whose
message was sent to the central control room shall be installed on each fans to real-time
supervise the oil temperature and oil level in deducer casing.
The performance of fans (wind flowing and wind pressure)shall meet the requirements
of the wind flowing and wind pressure in cooling towers.
Motors and fans shall be combined with speed reducer with smoothly operation,stable
performance,low noise,free artificial maintance .It is totally enclosed. The life span of speed
reducer bearing shall be no less than 100000 hours for continued usage.The manufactory of
speed reducer is filled by the bidderand the life span for the complete speed reducer
shall no less than 30 years. The manufactory of fans is filled by the bidderand the life
span for the fans shall no less than 30 years.
3.3.2 Motors
Motors matching fans and its auxiliaries shall be designed and manufactured as per interrelated
standards and specifications.

Each motors shall be equipped with air space heater.
The motor type is Y type horizontal asynchronous motors and installed outside, the waterproof
casing to be arranged on the top of motors.
Insulation level : F class.
Protection level: IP55.
Working electrical condition: 415V/50Hz/3Ph.
PT-100 type temperature measurement parts to be set for the front & rear bearing and
3 phase coils of motor for ensure safety running.
Steel stracture base plate shall be used for motor mounting along with necessary
antisepsis measures.
3.3.3 Water distribution devices
Water distribution devices shall keep the hardness and strength with long life span.the tubes
adopt PVC-U pipes,evenly distribution shall be considered during the design period.the
connection between pipes shall be safe and reliable and all the hanging devices shall be made of
stainless steel.The nozzles made of ABS materials could be easily adjust to the water loading
and can satify the requirements of long-term safety operation.
3.3.4 Water decanier
The Water decanier adopt modification PVC materials and the index of fireproof oxygen higher
than 35. The Water decanier is formed by machine with the thickness no lower than 0.8mm.
The rate of the Water decanier shall be calucated as per the flowing ofrecirculated water and the
drift losing rate is no higher than 0.001.
The water decanier shall has the feature of highly rate of collecton,little air flow resistance,high
strengthen,nondeformable,easy installation and maintance.
The supporter adopt the nonmetal materials.
3.3.5 Air duct
The air duct adopts glass enforced fiber materials and recovery of kinetic energy air duct with
fire resistance property and oxygen index no lower than 28, value of recovery of kinetic
energy no lower than 30%.
The fasteners for air duct are made of steelness materials.

The externally face shall having the feature of not cracked,constant the function of the color. the
surface adopts advanced imported gel coats and having anti ultraviolet ray.the bidder inviter
shall provide the colour of externally face ,the bidder shall comply with it.
The air duct adopts reinforced design and basic design wind pressure is 0.5kPa.
3.3.6 Filling
Filling materials adopt FRP or RPVC film fillings without reworked materials.
Filling materials are fire retardance with the index of fire retardanc oxygen no higher than 40.
The thickness of the substrate is no lower than 0.400.05mm.
Filling materials shall stickied into lumps with the sticking rate no lower than 95%.

Filling frame adopts FRP or nonmetal materials.
Filling mareials shall be easier for maintance and exchange,nailing shall not be
adopted as the way of fastening.
3.3.7 Passage for maintance in cooling towers.
The bidder shall design and offer the maintance platform for fans and maintance passage for
components in towers.
Maintance platform and passage shall adopt stainless and nonmetal materials.
Qulckly opened access door shall be available in towers with high-quality tightness and easier
to dispatch. All the materials components shall adopt stainless steel materials.
3.3.8 Lightning system
The bidder shall be responsible for the design and supply the stainless lightning rings set on the
top of each air duct.
Lightning system on the top of tower shall be lead to downtowers to connect with the earthing
system of the power plant.
3.3.9 Others
The antisepsis measures to be condsidered by bidder for all steel parts in side of
cooling tower, the life span of these parts shall be not less than 30 years. The
antisepsis measures should be taken for the surface of water drench frame column

and beams of tower.
The average moving load at the top of tower is 4kN/m

3.5 Requirement of C&I
3.5.1 Bider must be sure that the Equipments supplied could be operating safely and
practically under any operation conditions and bider submite the documents about
measurement point list and control requirements..All the control instruments shall be
supplied along with main equipments .Bider supply alarm value ,trip value and relative
control information.
3.5.2 Instruments supplied with main equipments shall be accordance with the
insrtruments selection .All the instruments selection must be approved by the owner.
3.5.3 The pressure and DP transmitters must be accordance with HART protocol and
transmitters will be 2 wired and smart.The accuracy will be 0.075 and external load
will be 500 ohm.Protection class shall be IP65. All cable interface must not be smaller
than 13mm.The interface will be sealed.
3.5.4 The logic switch accuracy will be 0.5 or more better ant protection class will be
IP65, All cable interface must not be smaller than 13mm.The interface will be sealed.
Switch contacts will be 2SPDT.
3.5.5 The local indicator accuracy will be 1.5.The external diameter shall not be smaller
than 150mm.Generally,the guage point will be 2/3~3/4 of full scale when normally
operationg.Temperature guage shall be universal type.Vibration-against guage will be
adopted for vibration area.
3.5.6 All analog signal will be 4~20mA DC,temperature signals that into DCS will be
from 3-wired RTD.The electric contacts will be DPDT and the contacts capacity will
be shall be as follows:

3.5.7 Local control panel will be IP65 for outdoor and IP56 for indoor and the panel
must be meet the site requirements.The color shall be approved by the owner.The
instruments output signal cable will be linked to JB by contractor. Contractor should
supply the JB drawing to design institute.The cable from local instruments to JB shall
be supplied by contractor.JB will be bottom-into and the input will be sealed by PVC
plug.The terminal will be Phoenix and clip type mounted on track,Terminal spares shll
be 20%,and the space between two track will be 100mm.
3.5.8 All motor stator wind temperature shall be measured by 3-wired PT RTD and
than link into JB by contractor.l
(1) Motor stator wind temperature measurement will be six RTD,2 RTD each phase.
(2) Motor thrust bearing temperature will be measured by RTD.
3.5.9 Temperature measurements shall be meet following requirements:
(1) Mounted RTD will be clinged to bearing and easy to mount and replace outside the
equipments.
(2) Isolation layers will be very well After mount the temperature gauge.Be sure that
bearing will be isolated from earth.
3.5.10 Oil temperature measurement alarm instruments shall be supplied for gear
down box.
3.5.11 Vibrations and temperature measurement instrument shall be integrated with fas
or motor.Vibration measurement shall be done for X and Y ,and instrument output
signals shall be 4-20mADC and it will be connected into DCS.

4.1 AC Motors shall be suitable for 3 phase, 50 Hz supply and shall be of the
squirrel-cage induction type suitable for direct-on-line starting. The temperature rise
over 50 deg.C ambient of all motors shall be limited to Class B. The motor winding
shall be of copper. Motor shall be suitable for voltage variation of 10%, frequency
variation of 5% and combined voltage and frequency variation of 10%,and also meet
the rating output.

4.2 All insulated windings shall have Class F non-hygroscopic insulation systems rated
for Class B temperature rise above ambient temperature of 50C in accordance with the
standards.
4.3 The rating of each motor shall be with at least 15% extra margin over the input
power requirement and shall be continuously rated. Motor shall be considerd 1.1 times
operating current. Motors shall be capable of starting and accelerating to full speed at
80% of the nominal voltage and shall not stall at 70% of nominal voltage for one (1)
minute. With voltage and frequency within permissible variation band, the motors shall
be capable of 3 equally spaced starts in 1 hour with motor initially at temperature not
exceeding rated operating temperature. 2 start in succession with motor initially at a
temperature not exceeding rated operating temperature. The starting voltage of motors
shall be 70%-80% rating voltage (the value shall be finalized by purchaser).
4.4 All motors above 30 kW shall have space heater for avoiding condensation during
idle hours. The voltage of heater shall be 240V50Hz AC ,the power of heater shall be
__kW (To be filled in by CONTRACTOR ,finalized by purchaser) .
4.5 The noise level of motors shall be in accordance with IEC/IS 12065. The libration
shall be within the limit of IEC/IS12075. The motor shall be endure the the libration of
driving equipment.
4.6 Motors shall be self ventilated type; total enclosed fan cooled or closed air circuit
air-cooled type. Motors located outdoors shall be of weatherproof construction. The
degree of protection of motor enclosure shall not be less than IP-54 (indoor)/IP-55
(outdoor). All outdoor motors shall be provided with rain hood
4.7 All 11 kV motors shall have six (6) winding temperature detectors, bearing
temperature detectors, hot and cold air temperature indication (for CACA, CACW type).
In addition, flow switches shall be provided for water-cooled motors and forced
lubrication bearing, if used.
4.8 Motors up to 200 kW will be 415V, rated and above 200 KW will be of 11kV. Motors
of IDCT shall be consider 415V system.
4.9 Cable box and terminal box for 11 kV motors shall be phase segregated type where
ELASTIMOLD termination with protective cover is not provided. 415V motors shall have

non-phase segregated cable box. Cable box shall withstand maximum fault current for duration
of 0.25 sec. The sealing equipment shall be ROXTEC.
4.10 The motors shall be designed to be energy-efficient and have high power factor and
low starting currents. All HT motors shall have efficiency and power factor higher than
0.90 and 0.88 respectively.

4.11 The motor winding shall be of copper.
4.12 The overspeed of motor shall be 120% and two minutes.
4.13 All motors shall be provided two grounding point at two side of motor, and have
the visible grounding indication .
4.14 All motors shall be subjected to works routine tests. In addition, 11 kV motors
winding shall conform to the requirement and impulse voltage withstand levels as per
IEC 60034-15. Type test certificate on identical rated motors shall be furnished as a
proof of design.
4.15 The bearing of motor shall be sealed, prevent the entrance of water and dust.
4.16 The life of bearing shall be more than 15 years.
4.17 The connection of between inter cable and outer of cable of motor shall be
provided by bidder.

5 Quality and Performance Guarantee
5.1 Manufacture or inspection for cooling towers shall meet national standards and
manufactory standards. The designe of the cooling towers shall be under the
conditions of full design load with stable operation to reduce the loud noise and
vibration.

5.2 Noise of the cooling towers shall satify the interrelated requirements.
5.3 If the cooling tower,withine the period of quality assurance can not meet
performance requirements due to equipments design and manufacture quality
issues,the bidder shall be responsible for solving the problems for free.
5.4 Noise in the place where 1.0m away from the exteriors of the cooling tower shall no
higher than 85 decibel. If the noise exceeds this value,the bidder shall provide
effective measures (devices) to meet the requirements of noise controlling.
5.5 The performance guarantee test will be carried out within 6 months after 14 days
reliability running of unit. The bidder will provides full cooperation for PG test and
comlete the correction for ensure the performance meet the requirement of contract.
6 Limits & interface of design and supply
The bidder shall ensure the whole performance and equipment quality of IDCTs.
The bidder shall provides all the equipments and materials of cooling tower above
0.000m elevation except civil work, it includes fillings, water drench devices, Water
decanier, air duct, fans, motors, speed reducer,etc. For the circulation cooling pipe, the
bidder shall provides the CW pipes above +2.000m elevation without isolation valves.
The bidder shall furnish all the installation drawings, civil construction drawings and
calculation books of IDCT as per requirement of design institute (NEPDI), these
drawings should be submitted to design institute (NEPDI) for review and approve, the
final construction drawing of IDCT will be furnished by design institute (NEPDI).

9.1 Cleaning
9.1.1 Prior to shipment, equipments shall be cleared.
9.1.2 All the internal objects, such as flitter, iron slag, welding slag, rag and other
impurities shall be removed from components, while the internal water shall be
drained and the equipments shall be sealed properly with a fixed end cover.
9.2 Painting Painting Painting Painting
9.2.1 Bidders shall choose the best way of painting to prevent the equipment from
corrosion during the shipment and storage.
9.2.2 Prior to the shipment, the bidder shall spray the equipment with two layers of primer
and three layers of top coat.
9.2.3 Bidders shall provide complete description of mitigate corrosion, including the
description of cleaning, painting technics and the characteristics of coating.
9.2.4 The surface painting colour code of IDCT will be confirmed by Owner and shall be
complied with by the bidder.
9.3 Name-plate
9. 3.1 The name-plate of the equipment shall be made of stainless steel.
9.3.2 The name-plate shall be installed in a location readily visible to the operators.
9.3.3 The contents of the nameplate shall at least include equipment name, manufacturer
name, manufacture date, factory number, the KKS code of equipment , the number of

manufacture certificate, equipment model and classification, main parameters of the equipment,
