3.New Connection/ Online Registration
Booking for new BSNL Mobile connections are available through our Customer Service Centers /
Franchisees/Retailers. Prescribed, duly filled Application form with passport size photo, Address Proof, ID Proof
and applicable charges are essential to get new mobile connection.

4.Pay bills online
You can avail online payment facility logging on to our web: http://portal.bsnl.in. You can view the latest bills and
pay them online. You can pay Landline, Mobile and WiMax bills even after pay by date. You can get duplicate bill
online for any mobile post-paid connection. Mobile prepaid online recharge, top-up is also available.

8.BSNL Mobile Helpline / Call Center *Number '1800 180 1503' / '1503' [Toll Free].
Customers can contact call center for any type of quires, grievances, to know about tariff details,
activation/deactivation of facilities, and any information related to mobile services
9. Choose Your Mobile Number
BSNL has launched a special scheme called Choose Your Mobile Number in GSM. Under this scheme a customer
can select his/her mobile number out of the list of about one lakh numbers available.

10. Black out Days(2014)
As per Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) directives, 5 days in a year shall be declared as blackout days.
BSNL has declared the following 5 days as black out days. No concessional tariff on voice calls or SMS will be
available on those days only. The normal tariff as per plan will be applicable on those days.
1. New Year Eve (31st December)
2. New Year Day (1st January)
3. Holi
4. Pre-Diwali day
5. Diwali
11. SIM Information
SIM memory with 32/64 Kb is Normal SIM
SIM (USIM) Memory with 128/256 Kb is USIM . USIM is having higher memory capacity
SIM Activation: Insert SIM in Mobile and dial 123 or*123# to activate the SIM.
32K Micro SIM, is to be used for Tablet Data Plans.
Default services available in the new SIM
Voice calls.(Local/STD/ISD) for Prepaid and for Post paid as per the request of the customer Video calls
( for 3G compatible handsets).
CLIP (Caller Line Identification Presentation).
SMS (Short Messaging Service)
Call forwarding,
Call Wait,
Voice mail etc



National Roaming facility (i. e- Roaming facility is extended default with activation, but OG and I/C call
will be charged as per the Plan while in roaming).
PIN & PUK
Personal Identification Number (PIN) for BSNL default PIN is 0000(Four Zeroes) PIN Unlock Key code is
PUK. It is an 8 digit number, unique for each and every SIM. If wrong PIN is entered twice, SIM will go to
Locking condition and asks for PUK code. If PUK is entered wrongly, it will lead to SIM rejection. In such
case customers has to approach the nearest CSC.
Cost of dummy (Replacement) SIM
Customer has to approach the nearest CSC along with the address and photo proof to replace the SIM in
case of SIM faulty/lost to get a dummy (Replacement) SIM
1. 2G (Normal SIM) FREE*
(*Subject to the condition that the customer has to compulsorily Topup (C-Top Up/Flexi Top-
Up/Physical voucher) with MRP value of Rs. 100 (incl. of S. Tax)
2. 3G (USIM) FREE*
(*Subject to the condition that the customer has to compulsorily Topup (C- Top Up/Flexi Top-
Up/Physical Voucher) with MRP value of Rs.140 (incl. of S. Tax)
Prepaid Mobile connection to be in ACTIVE Status
In the national security point of view, Services to Prepaid Mobile Numbers will be WITHDRAWN
if the numbers remain INACTIVE (i.e) No Outgoing & Incoming Calls, SMS & DATA made for 90 days
To facilitate customers going ABROAD, who cannot maintain active status continuously for a certain
period, they may send SMS with key word, to avoid disconnection

12. Short Messaging Service (SMS)
The SMS center Mobile Number is +919442099997. This is available in the mobile
Messages->Message settings->Text Message->Message center Number.
In case of problem in sending SMS (first time), please check that correct service centre number
+919442099997 is selected. For subsequent problem, check your memory box (Incoming or Outgoing). If
problem still continues, inform Call Center 1503 to arrange needful action
13.Mobile Phone Backup
Mobile Phone Backup is a service that safeguards all data of your mobile phone including Contacts,
Calendar, SMS, Photos, Videos and Music. The Mobile Phone Backup service copies your mobile phone
data in a secure manner to Operators secure Mobile Phone Backup system, and also enables you to
restore the saved data on your phone (New / Existing) whenever you change your phone or in case you
lose the data accidentally
You can save the following categories of data depending on your phone model: Contacts List Photos
Videos Music Events & Tasks SMS.




Mobile Phone Backup service can be used from your pre-paid as well as your post-paid connection

14. Friends & Family Scheme
This facility allows a customer to make Free calls or at reduced call charges to the selected mobile/fixed
telephone numbers .The tariff is applicable as per the plans & Family Scheme.
To register FFE Facility:
Send SMS FFE space < 1st No>space <2nd No> to 53733 for prepaid customers
Send SMS FFE space < 1st No>space <2nd No> to 53333 for postpaid
customers
Send SMS FFJ space < 1st No>space <2nd No> to 53733 for Jaijawan
customers
To change of F&F numbers:
SMS to 53733 as FFM <space><old number ><space>< New number>
Charges Rs. 5 / number/change.

16.Mobile Vouchers
Plan Voucher
It is used to enrol a customer into a tariff plan . This voucher is used for migration from one plan to another as well
for validity extension. Validity extension with Plan voucher will be from the date of recharge. To extend plan validity,
send SMS EXTVAL to 53733

Topup Voucher
Topup voucher will provide only talk-value to the customer. Top-up voucher will not have validity
Special Tariff Voucher
STVs are specially designed vouchers to cater to the specific needs of different segments of society like students,
friends, couples, jawans, senior citizens etc. STVs are not used for validity extension or for plan migration. In addition
to the plan selected,the customers can meet their additional requiremets through activating STVs.For eg: if a
customer wants unlimited free calls to BSNL numbers, he can activate STV341 for 27 days or STV891 for 81 days.
STVs can activate through SMS by sending SMS to 53733.For eg:to activate STV45,send SMS as STV45 to 53733.To
activate GPRS STV14,send SMS as GPRS14 to 53733. Click here for STVs





17.Gift Your Talktime
Register your Mobile Number (Onetime):
Send REGISTER PTOP to 54455, you will get a password
To transfer your balance, use the following format
GIFT<>MobNo<> Amount<> Password to 54456
You can transfer Rs 10 to 200 (1/3rd of balance at a time)
18.GPRS Settings
GPRS facility is pre-activated in all Prepaid Connections, To get GPRS settings for your handset, Send
MAKE<space>MODEL NO to 58355. You will get 4 settings, save bsnlnet as default accesspoint for all
applications.
19.FREE Missed Call Alert
Just Dial *62*+9117010# to activate Missed call alert
