Medium Voltage
U0/U (Um) 3.6/6 (7.2) kV 18/30 (36) kV
The quailty and security of the connections and terminations in the Medium Voltage field is critical.
By the use of a combination of silicone and heat-shrink technology on one side (Hybrid), and the
combination of cold-shrink and slip-on technology (Contrax) on the other, CELLPACK Medium Voltage Products assure a leading edge.
CELLPACK Medium Voltage terminations and joints have been tested according to DIN VDE 0278
and CENELEC HD 629.1/HD 629.2 (transition joints) and fulfil IEC standards.

Wrapped Straight-through Joint

Type WMB
For polymeric cables up to 36 kV

Application

For all single- and three-core polymeric and paper mind cables.

Design

The wrapped joint consists of self-amalgamating tapes, used to rebuild the cable
structure. The highly elastic tapes are stretched and wrapped in overlapped layers to a homogeneous body. To control the electrical stresses in the connector
zone a medium voltage connector should be used. This wrapping method can
also be applied to transition joints.

Features

For all cable constructions

Very flexible application
Immediately operational

Delivery

Standard packing unit with all equipment and material required for a joint assembly whether for three single-core or one three-core cable.

Straight-through Joints
Type TCM60-4
For telecommunications cables

Application

The mechanically stable joints Type TCM 60-4 are used for connecting cut
and uncut telecommunications cable to optical fibres. They are employed
in cable ducts
underground
in overhead-line construction

Function

The joint assures the mechanical protection and electrical insulation in the
proximity of the splice point.

Features

Tests

The acceptance tests have been carried out in accordance with the Technical
Conditions of Delivery Connection and Branch Joints/General
Specifications and Acceptance Tests of the German Federal Post Office.

Design

The splicing area is enclosed by two half shells joined together by two anti-corrosion screws. Two cable apertures are located on each of the front faces,
which are formed in stages for optimum adaptation to varying cable outer
diameters. Redundant cable apertures are sealed with plugs and permanently
elastic sealing compound. A compressed-air valve is mounted on the half shells
for compressed air-monitored telecommunications cable (up to 0.7 bar). During
breaks in working (e.g. overnight) the joint can be temporarily air-tightly closed
and the telecommunications cable monitored for compressed air. Any damage
to the sleeving can thereby be detected at an early stage. Oblong slots allow
problem-free mounting, e.g. to the joint support frame or in overhead-line construction. Mounted sleeves can be opened and closed again, whereby it is only
necessary to renew the sealing compound.

Optical Fibre Cable Assemblies

Type STI-P, STI-R and ST-D

Features

Optical fibre networks are low-absorbing, interception-safe and resistant to

electromagnetic interference. They provide a high degree of investment security
for future applications in the information processing field.
In addition to cable laying, connection, and connecting cable assemblies are
also required for the installation of optical fibre networks. These are fitted with
plugs at one or both ends. Application fields include all plugs and cable types.

Optical Fibre Splice Organiser System

Type LWK

Application

Due to universal applications, system components are subject to stringent requirements in the field of optical fibre cabling and cabling systems. The Optical
Fibre Splice Organiser System offers a professional solution
when compact joints are required
as coupling housing in joints or drawers
in vertical bays, which include multiple functions and flexibility
in drawer applications (Modular Patch Panels), in which the pigtail can be
clearly mounted by means of variable plug underpin adapters

Advantages

Flanged plug underpinning for compact conductors from 0.9 mm to

1.8 mm
In-feed zone for max. 12 optical fibres and simple bundle fixing
Simplified fibre-laying process with counterholding unit
Looping-off possible to other levels with planned outgoing
All conventional splice brackets can be clicked on (with twist protection)
Safe organiser stapling (twist protection)
Halogen-free, flame-resistant plastic housing
1

3
4

Immediate transfer of the fibre to its optimum and greatest elliptical

path
adapted input zones for all circular layout conductors
Simple bundled conductor mounting: one or two cables are clicked
into the adapter and fixed securely with cable ties
Cable ties do not protrude
The integrated counterholding unit makes it easy to lay fibres and
offers protection against vibration and shocks
It is possible to change module levels with conductors up to 3 mm

The optimum optical fibre pull-relief

Cables and pigtail in-feeds which are to be spliced must be pull-relieved. Here
a clear layout of inlets and outlets must be ensured. The pressure-sensitive glass
fibres are often terminated or pull-relieved in the vertical axis, for instance in
copper connection systems.

With the new click-on pull-relief, up to 12 conductors or fibres, 0.1 to 2.2,

mm are fixed correctly. A few grams of vertical pressure result in almost 1,000
g of horizontal pull-relief.

The filling material employed in the pull-relief allows repeated assembly and disassembly without damaging the fibres. The fibres are secured by a fastening
clamp. Because they are simply clicked on, the coupling flange allows non-twisting modular extensions or the use of other pull-relief systems. The pull-relief
can be stacked and secured against twisting, as can the splice module.

Shrink Splice Protector

Type LHS

Application

The Shrink Splice Protector Type LHS is employed to mechanically protect the
spliced optical fibre. The low shrinking temperature reduces the excessive wear
at the splice point, which allows a greater number of splicings. The splice is
protected by a mechanical stainless steel pull-relief. The recommended operating temperature of the standard model ranges from -55 to +70 C.

Features

Reinforced stainless steel bars BS 2056 302S26

Shrink tube: flexible polyolefin, shrinks from 90C, operating
temperature -55 to +135 C, flame-retardant
Insert (fusible): ethylene vinyl acetate, melts from 65 C, operating
temperature -55 to +70 C

Cable Tester
Type CP-CT-01

Application

The Cable Tester Type CP-CT-01 is used to immediately find faults in cabling
systems in accordance with DIN EN 50173.
It is implemented for checking
twisted-pair cables with up to 4 conductor pairs and cable shield
coaxial cabling systems - BNC terminal plug is supplied
The individual conductors can be checked for commutation, overcrossing,
broken contacts and non-shielding, immediately after connecting the cable.
The device is started by pressing the button on the top. The shield test is started
by re-pressing the button. The red and green LED displays on the top of the
housing are assigned to the respective conductor pairs. When the green LED
lights up, everything is functioning correctly the illuminated red LED signalises
a fault.
This prevents expensive fault location at a later stage.

Colour

Grey RAL 7032

Note

Device operates on a 9-V block battery (operating life: ~14 h).

Restricting Tape
Type NO 71
PE base

Application

Electrical insulation work, general packaging, tin sealing, identification

It requires only gentle pressure to adhere to almost any clean, dry surface i.e.
free from dust, oil, grease or moisture. Undue stretching of the tape during
application should be avoided, otherwise some degree of "creep-back" will
occur. It is best to avoid stretching the last inch of tape or to let it recover
without tension for 5 to 10 sec. before sticking it down

Features

Good electrical properties

Flexible, extensible, conformable and tough even at sub-zero temperatures
Resistant to moisture, many chemicals such as dilute acids and alkalis and to
salt solutions
