Heater 600
Safety precautions: The operation instruction should always be followed FAG shall not be held liable for damages caused by improper handling or by use which does not comply with the designation purpose. Prerequisites of the operator: He must be authorised for use ! He must be familiar with the safety precautions !
DANGER! Since a magnetic field is generated by the induction heater, people wearing a pacemaker should not work or be in the immediate vicinity of the apparatus. Other sensitive equipment such as wrist watches, magnetic carriers, electronic circuits, etc. might also be affected. The safety distance is 2 metres The equipment should not be used in areas where there is a risk for explosion. Use protective gloves (danger of burning your hands).
CAUTION
All repair work should be taken care of by an official FAG distributor. Use original FAG spare parts only. Protect heater from water or very high humidity. Protect the yoke support and yokes against corrosion, damage and deformation. Only preheat ball bearings to max 120C.
DANGER! = High injury risk WARNING= Potential injury risk CAUTION = Danger of damaging the device or the work piece
Heater 600
Introduction: The FAG induction heaters are intended for heating rolling bearings. Other metal components forming a closed circuit such as bushings, shrink rings, pulleys and gears can also be heated.
Serial no.: Capacity:400V-63A-50Hz
1. Connect heater to electric mains, 400V-63A*. Turn main switch from 0 to 1. In display 110C will appear.
In case the plug has to be changed a qualified electrician must install a suitable plug; Yellow/green = Ground Brown = Phase 1 Blue = Phase 2
2. Choose largest possible yoke fit diameter of bearing (or any other work piece). Slide onto the yoke. Place yoke with whetted sides on the poles.
Always keep whetted sides greased !!

3. Place magnetic probe on work piece, close to the bore. Make sure that the place reserved for the probe is free of any grease or oil.
Control panel:
Heating can be Conducted by Temperature or by Time
Heating with temperature pre-selection function: When heater is switched on the display will show: 110C With A and B you can decrease the temperature to 0C and increase to 240C.
Heater 600
Select temperature and press "start" to start the heating process. The display will now show progress of heating cycle. Once pre-selected temperature is reached the acoustic signal will sound and the display will flash. Press "stop" and place probe on one of the poles, remove work piece.
Use protective gloves!
Temperature hold:
With button D you can activate or de-activate the temperature hold function
Activated: As soon as the temperature drops 5C, heating will automatically repeat. This process will repeat itself for 5 times. Afterwards the heater will give a constant sound signal. Press C (Start/Stop) and place probe on one of the poles, remove work piece. De-activated: When pre-selected temperature is reached the acoustic signal will sound constant.
Use protective gloves!
AT ALL TIMES PROCESS CAN BE INTERRUPTED BY PRESSING "STOP"

Error Signals
E 01: The measured temperature has passed the pre-set temperature. E 03: Increase of temperature is lower than 1C in 5 minutes Please check: The sensor, no damage and placed properly. The connection from sensor to the circuit board The part can be to big for the machine (heating time to long), heat on time pre-selection and control temperature manual. E 10: The electronic measures no zero-axis crossing: Check the connectors or change circuit boards E 12: The electronic measures a disconnection in main circuit, Please check: The connections on Thyristor Change Thyristor and check machine Check connections plugs Change circuit board and test machine
Heating with time pre-selection function:
When heater is switched on the display will show: 110C Switch on the heater and press button E The display will show: 00.00 Press A for desired time selection (max. 99.59) Press C to start the heating process The display will count down to 00.00
During heating cycle the actual temperature of work piece can be checked by pressing button D. The magnetic probe has to be placed !
When heating cycle has ended the acoustic signal will sound. Press C and remove work piece. Use protective gloves!
HEATING PROCESS MAY NOT BE STARTED UNLESS THE YOKE IS CORRECT IN PLACE OVER THE POLES.
