4 Release Letter 1 Product Overview Purpose of this document This document contains information for the Alliance Messenger package for Alliance Access/Entry 7.0.50 on Alliance Web Platform. 1.1 Enhancements and Features This patch fixes problems described in Resolved Problems. It does not provide new functionality compared to the base release. 1.2 Resolved Problems The following problems are fixed in this patch: CR 40104807, Knowledge base tip 5017376 Description: If System Management permission is not part of the operator profile, you will not be able to access Message Modification or Approval with Alliance Messenger GUI package 7.0.50. CR 40104742, Knowledge base tip 5017381 Description: A FIN message Template created in fast mode with Alliance Messenger GUI package 7.0.50 or earlier version, produces an incorrect warning when opened in Alliance Message Management. 1.3 Software Distribution This patch of Alliance Messenger is available through the Download Centre on www.swift.com. 1.4 System Requirements Refer to the release letter provided with Alliance Access/Entry 7.0 50 and Alliance Web Platform 7.0. 1.4.1 Operating System Requirements For more information, refer to the release letter provided with Alliance Access/Entry 7.0.50 and Alliance Web Platform 7.0. 1.4.2 Memory Requirements For more information, refer to the release letter provided with Alliance Access/Entry 7.0.50 and Alliance Web Platform 7.0. 1.4.3 Additional Requirements The Alliance Messenger package requires Alliance Access/Entry 7.0.50 or higher and can be hosted on Alliance Web Platform 7.0 (or higher) or Alliance Web Platform Server-Embedded 7.0 (or higher). 3 August 2012 5 2 Installation and Configuration The following sections provide additional information to help you install or upgrade successfully to the Alliance Messenger 7.0.51 GUI package. 2.1 Preparing to Install or Upgrade Licensing requirements This product has no specific licensing requirements. Software preparations Alliance Access/Entry 7.0.50 must be installed before the Alliance Messenger package. Procedural overview Before you install the Alliance Messenger package, one of the following releases must be installed: Alliance Web Platform 7.0 or higher Alliance Web Platform Server-Embedded 7.0 or higher If the Alliance Messenger 7.0.50 GUI package is already deployed on the IBM WebSphere Application Server - Network Deployment, then log on to the IBM WebSphere Application Server Integrated Solutions Console and stop the application. There is no preliminary activity for the installation of this patch on Alliance Web Platform Server- Embedded 7.0. 2.2 Installing the Alliance Messenger 7.0.51 GUI Package See the Alliance Web Platform 7.0 Installation Guide for information about the installation and configuration of Alliance Access/Entry GUI packages. To locate the package for Alliance Messenger on the downloaded file, navigate to: \ GUI Packages\ messenger _7_0_51. ear The Alliance Messenger 7.0.51 GUI package is only compatible with Alliance Access/Entry 7.0.50 or higher and has to be installed as a replacement of Alliance Mesenger 7.0.50 GUI package on Alliance Web Platform 7.0 or higher. 2.3 Fallback Acti vities The Alliance Messenger 7.0.51 GUI package can be removed with the swp_conf i g - packages - uni nst al l command.
