PREFACE

KPTCL vide its Order No. KPTCL / B19 / 7625 / 86-87 dated 08.05.03 constituted a
Committee comprising of the following Officers to review and submit proposals for revision
of S.R of Major Works for 2006-07.
a) Chief Engineer Electy. (P&C) - Member – Chairman.
b) Chief Engineer Electy. (T&P) - Member
c) Chief Engineer Electy. Tr. Zone, B’lore - Member
d) Chief Engineer Electy. Tr. Zone, Mysore - Member
e) Chief Engineer Electy. Tr. Zone, Bagalkot - Member
f) Chief Engineer Electy. Tr. Zone, Gulbarga - Member
g) Financial Advisor (I/A) - Member
h) Superintending Engineer Electy. (Tech) - Member
i) Superintending Engineer Electy. (P&M) - Member - Secretary(Convener)
The Committee subsequently co opted the following Officers:

The Committee had 5 sittings on various dates. In the concluding sitting held on 29.08.06,
the Committee discussed various options, suggestions and opinion of all the members to arrive
at the revised Schedule of rates for the year 06 – 07. Finally, the Committee submitted the
revised rates for 06 – 07 based on the latest Purchase Orders placed by T & P section, other
Transmission Zones and as per updated IEEMA rates. The revised rates for materials at FORD
rates includes ED at 16.32 % and other applicable taxes prevailing as on date.
The labour charges are revised based on the average of the awarded labour rates and
increase in consumer price index for the last year obtained from the Labour Commissioner.
The service tax of 12.24 % is also included in the revised Labour charges, which shall be
accounted appropriately wherever work contract tax is applicable.
Latest KPWD SR rates are recommended for Civil works as practiced in the previous
years. Rates for Repair of Power Transformers, different types of Relays, Foundations
Volumes for Multi Circuit towers, weights of Towers and Extensions of CPRI Design and
L&T design in respect of MC towers, C type wedge connectors and Current Transformers of
40 KA short circuit rating have been included.
 For certain items of 33KV and below, the SR of respective ESCOMS rates are
recommended to be adopted for the same.
The recommendations of the SR revision Committee 06-07 was placed before the Central
Purchase Committee in its 66th meeting held on 01.09.2006. The CPC approved the
recommendations made by the SR revision Committee and directed to give effect from
01.09.2006.
