We are finding more and more, each day and each
year how very faithful our Lord is. He called us
very important in keeping^01^^nam and the work
Church.,, .Praise the Lord!!!! Thanks to the many ^-5 OH.
donations, we now have the money to buy 700 cement '^1,tur bu^dU!^^^ S LCL
blocks, so as soon as we finish the paper work
(red tape) and accumulate a few more block, we will be able to begin building the new
Church building. Lord willing, within the next few months Pray for us

Christmas, our Lord"s birthday was a really joyful time....with the program and "fiesta"
at the church and many special greetings from our family and friends, both here:'in Costa
Rica and from you there at home Thank you for remembering us this time of year
when it means so much to be remembered We had 85 children at the children"s program
and party on Sunday morning, Dec, 23 and at Church that night, we had 125 people attending,
to^^share in the program and the party, at which we served the traditional Christmas dish
of arroz con polio (rice and chicken). We invited the Youth Group to have their party at
our house, with 35 yoimg people attending. The girls and Janet were busy making enough
cookies to go around,,,.it was a fun time, with singing, prayer time and games
Sharing Christmas as a "body of Christ" was a first for the believers in San Roque!!!!
We received a very spe cial Christmas present this year as our son Sam was able to visit
us for 2 weeks. The time seemed to fly by, "but it was so good to be able to have him home
again with us even for just a little while. What a joy and a happy time for all of us here.
Thank you Sam for making the effort to come and thanks to all who helped him get here!!!
Also thanks to all who sent gifts with him for us!!!!!!!God bless each one of you
Another special Christmas present for us was Hal getting home to the U.S. safe and sound
after being out to sea for 6 months.,..Thank you Lord for your faithful care of our
children when they are far away from us
We now find ourselves very busy in preparing for our V.B.S. which starts Feb. k. We are
planning on at least 70 or more children. Since we don't have many ready made materials
to work with, it is a big job to think of workbooks, handcrafts, etc. for so many children.
V/e brought some craft supplies home with us two years ago and are able to use some and
copy others, which has been a big help!!!!So if any of the Churches have any "leftovers"
from your V.B.S.'s this year remember us and save them Lord willing, we will b
coming to visit again soon Roberta and Sally are really a big help to us and we
Praise the Lord for such willing and talented daughters. Plus, as a result of the special
training some of our young people received in July, we also liave plenty of helpers in the
church We hope someday to work ourselves right out of a job,,,.praise the Lord!!!!!!
The people in the church are growing and learning every day This will be a first time
experience for them to "be helping with V.B.S., so please keep all of us in your prayers
In closing we would like to invite anyone who
has time, is willing, and knows how to use a
hammer or lay cement block, to come on down
and help build the new church in San Hoque,
Costa Rica. VJhat a blessing it will be

Dear Friends in Jesus,
It is time once again to let you know all the wonderful things the Lord is doing
here in Costa Rica...what a blessing for us to be used by HIM...PRAISE THE LORD!!
"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Jesus
Christ throughout all ages." Eph, 3^20
February found us very busy and ^
involved with our summer D.V.B.S, v. ^
which we felt was a real joy and
success with 10? children in ^
attendence,. ,WOW!!!! -
In March Roberta and Sally both ^
began their year of school.

and Roberta studying here at home [ | j I

April found us in Revival during 4^ "^3 _

May was the month that Bob had
to take books and Bibles into
the back country and later in the month Bob and Janet both flew into the small towi of
Upala to show Bible Study films at a small church there. What a thrill for Janet, as
she very seldom has the opportunity ty go along THANK YOU LORD!!!!!!
In June we had a Mini Revival with be se, to house visitation.. .we had a lot of help
and it was a good time and a great success'for the Lord's word being spread.#.To end
the calling we had a special treat by having the Rosvit twins here with their songs and
puppets for the children....there were 11? attending.....For those of you who know
Fay and Janice, you know what a blessing they are, sind as they have now added Spanish
to their already large vocabulaiy, they were able to relate really well with the people.
The 24'th day of June, we were priviledge to see and become a part of a dream come true
and a beautiful miracle from the Lord, ihe San Roque Church of Christ Christian, is being
built with the prayers and financial help of you there at bome (the "Living Lights" sent
$1,000, Thank You "Living Lights"!),the membCTS of the San Roque Church, who gave
financially and physically and also the physical and financial help of a group of yoimg
people from all areas of the U.S., who love the Lord and were willing to come and
actually help with the construction. In a period of a little over two week. Bob, the
church members and this crew of 6 have put up the walls, put on the roof and poured
the cememt floor. PRAISE THE LORD,..,HE IS FATTHJUL to always know what we need and
when we need it. Please keep this project and all of us in your prayers as there is
still much to be done and the finishing up work will be the responsibility of Bob,
Janet, Roberta and Sally, and the people of the Church here in Sem Roque...We have
had real good help from the people in the church and we are really happy about that....
They are real happy and proud that they are going to have a new Church building in
which to worship the Lord....What a witness of God's love...to see a group of young
people who loved them enough to be concerned about helping here in Costa Rica...
Lord willing, we will be coming home the months of December, January and Febtruary to
visit the Churches and to settle Roberta in school there.. We would like for any of the
Churches who want us to come visit, to please contact us sls soon as you can make your
plans, so that we too can begin to plan our time and calender... .We give thanks always
for all of you and for your faithfulness in prayer and support of the Lord's beautiful
work here in Costa Rica.....We love each of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
