1. Introduction
This document describes the modifications to the $interthur Bordereaux system to allo, the ,ee7ly
production of Informational Bordereaux for Ris7 and #laim Advice+
All chan&es are to be made in release " of enius' in the #ustomer Specific 8odel
This re9uirement is part of the second phase of Bordereaux Implementation

2. Bac%ground+,unctional Descri-tion
In addition to the reports in the standard Bordereau system there is a re9uirement for Informational
Bordereau ,hich ,ill be run automatically on a ,ee7ly basis+
There are t,o informational Bordereaux' Ris7 :Policy; Bordereau and #laim Advice Bordereau+
These list basic Policy and #laim data respectively+ These are not concerned ,ith transaction
amounts but the static data+
Both these Bordereaux must be run ,ee7ly throu&h an automated ,ee7 end <ob+ They should only
report the Policies and #laims ,ith R3I attachments ,hich are ne, amended or deleted since the last
run ,hich have RI attachments+ The Rais system ,ill be manually loaded ,ith this basic data on a
,ee7ly basis so that ,hen the Accountin& Bordereaux are received monthly or 9uarterly' the amount
of data to be input at this time can be reduced by spreadin& some of the input over the ,ee7s in
bet,een+
These Bordereaux have no connection ,hatsoever ,ith the runnin& of the Accountin& Bordereaux+
The Accountin& Bordereaux can be run for a policy3claim before or after the Informational
Bordereaux is run and vice versa+

$. (dditional Considerations
These informational Bordereau ,ill be developed alon&side but not interfere ,ith the development of
the Accountin& Bordereaux+ To this end the additional Policy data needed for the Ris7 Bordereau
,ill be added to the database via an extension file to the Policy Data file and not throu&h the addition
of extra fields to the ori&inal file+ This ,ill also reduce the amount of data stored+
This specification has been defined to store information do,n to the lo,est possible level of RI
Attachment i+e+ #overa&e level+ If reportin& is to be at a hi&her level then information ,ill not
necessarily be accurate+

The deduction code description will be held in WID Bordereau Code File in the same way

5.2 Informational Bordereau Control (CIC!"#
5.2.1 3)er)ie4
This control pro&ram ,ill call the extracts and then the print functions and handle any errors found+
In addition it ,ill ta7e the EsnapshotG of the RI Attachments file+
5.2.2 .rocessing Descri-tion
This function ,ill be an .xecute .xternal 2unction and submitted ,ee7ly as part of ,ee7 end
processin&+ It ,ill be called multiple times by a #B shell for each valid #ompany3Branch
combination+ This ,ill be submitted via ,hichever schedulin& soft,are the customer uses+

The first process is to create the Bordereau #ontrol records for the Ris7 and #laim Advice
Bordereau Runs+ The Bordereau reference ,ill be derived in the usual ,ay+ The Bordereau Type ,ill
be E)G for the Ris7 Bordereau and E(G for the #laim Advice Bordereau+ This does not conflict ,ith the
Accountin& Bordereau type codes+ .ach run ,ill be for one #ompany and Branch combination
,hich ,ill be derived outside of this function and passed in as parameters+
The control pro&ram ,ill handle the extracts and prints of both Informational Bordereaux+ In
addition it ,ill control error handlin& for the extracts in the same ,ay as the Accountin& Bordereaux'

The ESnapshotG ,ill be created before exitin& the function and ,ill copy the RI Attachments file

All amendments and additions involvin& RI attachments must be reported on this Ris7 Bordereau+
It is proposed that each ,ee7 after the Ris7 Bordereau is run a Esnap shotG of the RI Attachments file
is ta7en+ Durin& the follo,in& run the Ris7 Bordereau ,ill compare the differences bet,een the
Esnap shotG and the EBiveG versions' the results of the comparison formin& the basis for the report
5.$.2 .rocessing Descri-tion
Fueries ,ill be run bet,een the EBive RI attachmentG file and the ESnapshot RI Attachment fileG to
determine the subset of RI Attachment records ,hich are ne,' amended or deleted+ -nly In,ards
Ris7s that are Authorised ,hich are on the Bive RI Attachment ,ill be considered+ The subsets
created by the 9ueries ,ill be held in FT.8P ,ith the functions processin& only these subsets+

If the record is in Bive and not in the Snapshot then the record is a N.$ attachment+ If it is' then
create a Ris7 Data record+ Set the Reason code to EN.$G+ Since the Bordereau ,ill be reportin& at
Section level if the attachment is at Policy level then a record for each section must be ,ritten to the
Ris7 Data file+ 2or each Ris7 Data record construct the deductions and ,rite the deduction records+
If the record is in Bive and in the Snapshot then it is a potential amended record+ #ompare the fields
from both and if any are different ,e have an amendment that needs to be ,ritten+ The comparison
should be done ,ith a lo&ical that omits the RI attachment se9uence as this ,ill chan&e if the record
is accidentally deleted and re7eyed bet,een runs+ $e ,ould not ,ant to report this as a deleted
attachment and a ne, attachment as in reality nothin& has chan&ed+ The #alculation Se9uence should
also be omitted from the access path as this is an attribute not a 7ey in this instance+ @se ERI Att by
8st3#v&G :>@RIDB!(;+ If any fields are different then create a Ris7 Data record+ Set the reason
code to EA8.ND.DG+ 2ind the deductions for each covera&e covered by this attachment and chec7
to see if there are any differences+ If there are then ,rite the deduction records+
If the record is in Bive and in the Snapshot but no RI attachment fields differ then test to see if the
deductions are different+ 2or all #overa&es find the deductions and compare these ,ith the
deductions ,ritten for the last time this Ris7 Data record ,as ,ritten+ If there are any differences
then create a Ris7 Data record+ Set the reason code to EA8.ND.DG+ Then ,rite the appropriate
deductions records+
Note+ If the RI attachment found has the ENet ofG fla& set then the session percenta&e is applied to
the net fi&ure after a previous RI session percenta&e has been processed+ In order to preserve
consistency ,ith the Accountin& Bordereaux the percenta&e sho,n on the Ris7 Bordereau ,ill be
the netted do,n percenta&e e+&+ If the initial RI #ession H is 5!H and the second Net of RI #ession
H is (!H then the actual reported percenta&e for the second RI Attachment ,ill be (!H of 5!H
,hich is )!H+
If the RI attachment is a deleted record i+e+ it is in the Snapshot but not in Bive' copy the old record
from the Ris7 Data file to the ne, run and chan&e the Reason #ode to EDeletedG+ Also copy the
associated deductions+
The accumulated data ,ill then be reread usin& the standard access paths to produce the records for
E$ID Bordereau /eaderG' E$ID Bordereau Policy DataG and E$ID Bordereau Policy .xtensionG on
the appropriate level brea7s+
The Bordereau /eader ,ill be constructed usin& the same functions as found in E$ID Bord+
Prm3#lm .xtrG built over E$ID Bordereau TransactionG+ The Policy Data ,ill be constructed usin&
EDetermine Bord+ Pol+ DtaG function used by the main Accountin& Bordereau production+ Build the
Policy .xtension at the same time as the Policy Data+
The deduction details ,ill be obtained from the Deductions file for the RI Policy and from the
In,ard Ris7 deductions+ The In,ard Ris7 deductions are only used if they do not appear in the
system parameter NN-RIA8T

5.!.2 .rocessing Descri-tion
This function ,ill build Bordereau Transaction records but ,ill only populate up to the #laim
Reference ?ey as that is all that is re9uired+ This is for efficiency as there is no need to create a
brand ne, file since the Bordereau Transactions file already has the correct fields and 7ey structure+
The Reason #ode ,ill be held in the 7ey ETransaction ?eyG as a number and value mapped to the
report+
@se the same functions as the Ris7 Bordereau to populate the /eader and Policy Data files+ @se the
existin& function EDetermine $ID Bord #lm DtG built over E$ID Bordereau #laim DataG to Populate
the #laim Data+
