“Yo soy” Project

Unit 1B: Non Native Speakers Spanish 1

PROJECT OVERVIEW: Individually, you will write a paragraph describing yourself. Then, with a partner, you will present your paragraph and
ask your parnter questions about what he/she is like in front of the class.

Instructions

1. Write a 5 sentence paragraph about what you are like. It must include:
• 2 sentences with 3 adjectives describing yourself from the vocabulary list
• 1 sentence with 2 adjectives describing what you ARE NOT like from the vocabulary list
• 1 sentence about what you like to do
• 1 sentence about what you don’t like to do

2. Bring a picture of yourself that shows what you are like according to your paragraph.
• The picture may be a photograph or drawing of yourself.
• Example: If your paragraph says “I am athletic”, you might find a picture of you running at a track meet.

3. Chose a partner from class who you will present with. As a team, you will:
• Read each other’s paragraphs and write what you will say in your presentation.
o 1 question asking your partner what he/she is like
o 1 question asking your partner what he/she likes to do
o 1 sentence describing what your partner is like
o 1 sentence describing how you and your partner are alike
• On the day of the presentation, you and your partner will present your projects to the class.
