Introduction
English language is one o( the critical subjects to be taught
in primar/ schools in #ala/sia. 0here(ore1 it needs rein(orcement
activities to help the pupils learning the language. In regard to the
slogan Memartabatkan Bahasa Melayu, Memperkasakan Bahasa

Inggeris31 SK Rimbaan have conducted an English Week as one o(
the English 4ead ,anel3s program to rein(orce children3s learning
as *ell as an e5posure (or them to (amiliari6e and enjo/ the
language.

-. 0o rein(orce and strengthen English learning in the classroom
amongst children.
2. 0o e5pose children in various interesting and enjo/able
activities through English language.
3. s a plat(orm (or children to sho* their talents1 creativities
and overcome stage7(right.
!. 0o 8nd the best candidates among children to represent the
school in inter7school competitions.

lso kno*n as spelling bee, this activit/ is to test pupil3s
vocabular/ kno*ledge in their level. It is conducted as an
individual competition *hereas each participant takes turn to
pick one random *ord (rom a bo5 and give it to the speaker
:teacher<. 0he speaker then said the *ord and the
participant has to spell the *ord correctl/ in 3. seconds in
order to proceed to the ne5t round. 0he participant *ho
outlasts the other is the *inner. 0he *ordlists is set (rom
eas/ to di=cult according to the rounds.
2# Sin&in& contest
lso kno*n as karaoke competition1 each participant
has to sing a karaoke song that is appropriate to their age
such as nurser/ rh/mes. ,articipants *ill be judged b/ their
pronunciation1 pitch1 tempo and presentation.

Each participant *ill present a 8ctional stor/ in an
interesting *a/ in (ront o( the audience. 0he marking criteria
are consist o( pronunciation1 intonation1 presentation and
>uidit/.

,ublic speaking is divided into t*o parts? 8rst1 each
contestant has to present a speech about an issue or non7
8ction stor/. 0he/ *ill be judged based on pronunciation1
content and presentation. Second1 the/ *ill present an
impromptu speech (rom a given topic. gain1 the/ *ill be
judged based on the same criteria above.
