Upcoming FTD
Here's the newsletter from FTD:
GIRLS! GIRLS! GIRLS! is a single disc release. As many fans already know, the majority of the

to turn up. We have collected everything we have on this disc. POT LUCK has an abundance of
material available, and we have filled two CDs to the brim. In both cases Vic Anesini and
Sebastian Jeansson have mastered the albums. They sound better than EVER.

April FTD releases out now
We just have received the three April FTD releases, and as usual a review will be done by
Johnny Savage. The main CD (for me) is the 50 million Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong that comes in
an attractive booklet. The 2nd CD is "An American Trilogy" (live, Jan-Feb '72) and last but not
least the book and CD Elvis, live in LA. The book has unfortunately a lot of pictures that are
blurry and grainy, and some are out of focus. But overall it is a nice photobook. Details about the
CD will come later.

April FTD Releases
An American Trilogy – Las Vegas Concert Recordings
Due for release on the Follow That Dream label on April 1, 2007 is the CD "An American Trilogy"
with Las Vegas Concert Recordings from the January/February 1972 Engagement.

This quarter's regular 5” digipack release covers Elvis’ engagement at The Las Vegas Hilton in
January-February, 1972. RCA did not record entire shows, and several of the new songs Elvis had
added to his shows were only recorded once. The consequence is that the main body of the CD – the
RCA recordings – feature several previously released versions. Soundboard (informal) recordings of
other song performances during the engagement were added to the end of the disc in order to make this
as representative as possible of Elvis’ repertoire at that time.

Tracks:
1. Also Sprach Zarathustra (15/Midnight) 1:13 ; 2. See See Rider (15/Midnight) 2:47 ; 3. Proud
Mary (15/Midnight) 2:34 ; 4. Never Been To Spain (15/Midnight) 3:29 ; 5. You Gave Me A

Due for release on the Follow That Dream label in the Classic Album series is "50 Million Elvis Fans
Can't Be Wrong". The releasedate is April 1, 2007.

"50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong" continues Follow That Dream Records' series of reissues of

release.

The reissue of 50,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong (Elvis' Gold Records, Volume 2) is expanded into a
2-disc set. Follow That Dream Records chose to include the entire June 10, 1958 sessions to give you
the experience of following Elvis through a whole night of sessions. (Unfortunately, session tapes of
the other recordings on this set were destroyed many years ago.) Three Elvis interview recordings are

MDQ & Rock and Roll Hero

Here we have the details and artwork for the upcoming BMG releases Million Dollar Quartet
and Elvis . First the 50th anniversary of the Complete Million Dollar Quartet that will be
released on September 18th and Rock 'n' Roll Years.
50th Anniversary edition of this historic jam session with: ELVIS PRESLEY / JOHNNY CASH
(SIC) /JERRY LEE LEWIS/ CARL PERKINS

For the first time ever the COMPLETE RECORDED SESSION in the ORIGINAL SEQUENCE
with 12 more minutes than any previous release! During the afternoon of Tuesday December 4,
1956, the world’s first superstar jam session took place and the MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
was born! ELVIS PRESLEY, JOHNNY CASH, JERRY LEE LEWIS, and CARL PERKINS
sang and performed their favorite songs at the famous Sun studio in downtown Memphis,
Tennessee. Away from the glamour of the media spotlight, the impromptu performances provide
a refreshing ‘fly-on-the-wall’ glimpse of what music truly inspired four of the world’s legendary
artists. Their country roots ran deep but the true common ground is gospel as they perform
classics like “Peace In The Valley,” “Just A Little Talk With Jesus” and “Blessed Jesus (Hold
My Hand.”) Country and gospel aside, Elvis was obviously keen to show off songs he was
considering for his next RCA recording session such as “Is It So Strange” and “That’s When
Your Heartaches Begin.” Jerry Lee also features his new single “Crazy Arms”. A real highlight
is Elvis impersonating Jackie Wilson’s impersonation of him while performing “Don’t Be Cruel”
on stage in Las Vegas!

Remarkably, this historic occasion was captured for posterity by the legendary Sam Phillips and
it appears here for the FIRST TIME in its ENTIRETY! Consisting of nearly 12 extra minutes, it
is also sequenced for the FIRST TIME as originally recorded! Throughout this unique and
insightful session, the MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET mix and match disparate styles – and
their innate musicality ensures that what emerged was truly original and spontaneous.

January 2006 FTD's

The FTD label will release two CD's in January 2006. An upgraded version of '' Loving You '' ( 2
CD set ) and a the regular Follow That Dream release is called SOUTHERN NIGHTS and is a
compiled “ best of ” from the spring tours of 1975. This is a companion set to Dixieland Rocks.
This is yet another of the so-called “Soundboard” recordings, meaning those done at shows with
semiprofessional equipment. There are several flaws on the original source tapes. Southern
Nights shows just how vast Elvis’s repertoire was at that time, with 19 songs not featured on
Dixieland Rocks.

Note from Ernst & Roger :

2006 will be the last year where we will divide evenly between regular releases of “soundboard”
material and RCA material. We will be running out of studio outtakes, except for the Classic
Albums releases. Research is always going on, but hope of finding the missing studio tapes is
small. We have a lot of historical Las Vegas engagements and tours to cover through
soundboards, and obviously an enormous number of classic albums to restore.

Thanks for another great year. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Ernst & Roger

Comments from Ernst J rgensen about the SUN Projects

The news on the EU Sun Box ( see previous news below ) mentioned that the FTD project would
concentrate mainly on the year 1955. Therefore we ask Mr. J rgensen if it was indeed the case
and if was aware of this project. It seems the fans will benefit from both projects. Here's the
answer we've got from him with permission to publish it.

'' I have known for quite some time that Joseph is working on a SUN project, and we have had
conversations about it, but apart from his stamper single I have no idea what his materials are.
The "news" on the board reveals nothing, but obviously sounds exciting. I'm not an expert on
the legal issues, but I assume that Joseph has done his home work. Although I am producing a
project on the same subject (Elvis in 1953-55), I'm just as much of a fan as the rest of you, and
welcome any unpublished material. I see that Joseph has a list of great people helping - several of
these people are also helping me, and one of the greatest things for me in this project is that so
many people have decided to share their knowledge and materials - it seems that everybody
realises that it's time to forget about personal agendas, and help create the historical document
about these early times - we will all benefit from this. ''

EU Sun Box
Yesterday on our Forum there was a news concerning two box-sets on the Sun era that would be
released on a new label called '' Memphis Recording Services. You'll find here below the details
concerning these sets. This news doesn't really belong into the BMG News section but it was
better to include it in here because of the comments in the next news above.

To my understanding there will be 2 box sets that will cover the entire Sun era. The first volume
to be released in June 2005 will deal only in the years 1953 - 1954. It will include what Mr Joseph
Pirzada calls a 'super CD' with all tracks remastered in original Sun sound and will include a
unreleased track from 1954 as well as live recordings. He promises a sound never heard before
that even FTD will not afford to package. Joseph has said 'our recording sources are much
better than BMG can ever get'

With the package to my understanding, will also be a 7 inch vinyl record of ' Thats all Right '
pressed from the original Master Mother stamper which will be identical to the original 45rpm
released by Sam Phillips in 1954 with all the hallmarks and obviously the exact sound.
Included is a 200 page book containing unpublised photographs including colour with
documents never before seen during the 53- 54 which will include the 'most important document
ever from 1954' (I am not allowed to say what that is at this stage) that has never before seen. All
items will packaged together within the Box set.

It is also understood that major contributions to this package include Scotty Moore, Ed Leek,
John Heath, Joseph Tunzi, Stanley Oberst, Sheriff Hanna, Russ Howe, Bud Glass are just the
few that are involved in this project. The book itself is written by Joseph Pirzada and John M
Heath.

On speaking to Mr Pirzada he did say this is a package made by the fans for the fans and items
contained in this package are never before seen and many of the items contained in this package
are completely out of the hands of the FTD version due later in the year. We Elvis fans know
what we want and this time you are going to get it. There is absolutley no point on relying on pen
pushers because at the end of the day, they always let you down. I wont let myself down, I know
what I want as a fan. The main significance on the FTD release is 1955. I want to make the best
Sun package that can be had which is why we are going into every detail to cover the 53-54 era.
On having spent 6 months last year in the mid -south in the USA on research I am going to set
the story straight. Every past book I have seen have just got it wrong. The 1955 era will have to
go on volume 2 which will be out January 2006. Making both volumes the ultimate Sun
collection. That will have more unreleased tracks and will have a pressing from Sam Phillips
original Master plate 'Mystery Train'.

The price for the item apparently will be made very affordable! Its also understood that these
releases will be made available in shops of HMV and Virgin in the UK.

With all the rare items 'Memphis Recording Service' have secured, it appears they will not be on
the FTD release.

FTD New Scheduled Update

FTD has to change their release schedule for their releases. There are several reasons for this,
but the most important one is the time factor. The pressure to deliver higher quality and a
substantial number of releases, is more than they can handle within the time constraints. By
sticking to four release dates only, a good portion of the time consuming non creative work will
be limited.
They return to a policy of 4 release dates per year: January, April, July and October. They aim
to have the product ready for release around the first of each of these months. They will release
the regular digipack releases each quarter and in most cases there will be extra releases coming
out at the same time: "Classic Albums", books or other projects.

The new release dates are as follows:

April 1st:
The Live In Las Vegas 1975 Soundboard - no title yet
Rockin' Across Texas - Stanley Oberst's book with 2 soundboards
Elvis Is Back - 2 CD Classic album

July 1st:
A yet to be determined regular release
Today - 2 CD Classic album

FTD is also working on many other projects. The SUN book/CD project is in the final stages of
research. Several classic albums are in the works including Clambake, Something For
Everybody, and Raised On Rock.

FTD Updates
Here are a few small updates on future Follow That Dream releases. Ernst Jorgensens " Sun-
project " will probably be released at the end of this year. The album " Raised On Rock " is
listed high on the " updated albums " list, but no release date has been planned yet. IF Elvis' last
show from Indianapolis is to be released on the Follow That Dream label an opportunity could
be October, but as Ernst put it "I doubt it".

Other future projects for the FTD label are the updated albums of '' Something For Everybody
'', '' Pot Luck '' and '' Promised Land ''. After the release of the April 1st, 2005 soundboard from
a March '75 show there won't be any soundboard releases for at least 6 months.

April 1st FTD Releases ( part II )

In addition to its regular quarterly releases of collectors’ material, Follow That Dream Records
regularly reissues Elvis movie soundtrack albums and classic Elvis albums that are no longer
part of the mainstream Sony/BMG (RCA Records label) catalog. Next in their series of “classic
album” reissues are the 1960 album Elvis Is Back! (Release Date: March 1, 2005) and the 1975
album Today (Release Date: April 1, 2005).

FTD Records will release a 2-CD version of Elvis is Back! in the customary 7” format. There is a
very limited number of previously unreleased outtakes on the studio albums, hence the 2CD
solution – combining all previously released versions – masters and outtakes.

Today will receive the same treatment. Since many of the studio albums have been deleted by
SONY/BMG, it’s FTD’s mission to make sure that the material is still available, in order to keep
Elvis’s recorded legacy intact.

Following are the track listings for both albums:

Essential Elvis, the UK's official Elvis Presley magazine has teamed up with BMG to promote a
special set of single releases. To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's Birth, January
8th 2005 RCA/SONY BMG are embarking on the most ambitious single release campaign in the
history of the UK Record Industry. All of the Kings 18 UK #1 singles will be re-released over 17
consecutive weeks beginning on January 3rd '05 and ending on April 25th '05. Each classic
single will be released in a Limited Edition numbered CD and 10" format, which will be
beautifully packaged using original artwork.

Never before has an artists contribution to popular music been celebrated in such a
groundbreaking way but as we know... there has never been an artist like Elvis Presley. 'All
Shook Up' was Elvis' first UK #1 single and will be the first re-release on 3rd January 2005. Both
CD and 10" of 'All Shook Up' will be launched in a beautifully designed, foil embossed CD and
10" box which can then be used to house the other 17 UK # 1's. Due to UK chart regulations on
packaging for singles, the 'All Shook Up' release/Box set will not be eligible for inclusion in the
UK singles chart, therefore we will also be re-releasing Elvis' second UK #1 single 'Jailhouse
Rock' on the same day.

Each single released in this momentous campaign will be packaged as following:

CD Single

* Each CD will be released in 'mini-vinyl' replica card sleeves with an outer and inner bag. The
outer bag features the original U.S. picture artwork and the inner bag replicates a generic UK
RCAingle sleeve from the time of the original release.

* The artwork for the CD disc will replicate the original 7" vinyl release including authentic
vinyl label artwork.
* Rather than have the standard silver finish on the 'playing' side of the disc, each CD rear will
have a black finish, again to replicate the look of a vinyl release.

* Each CD will be lmited and individually numbered.

10" Vinyl
* Each 10" vinyl release will be packaged in the original RCA generic bag.
* The 10" label will replicate the original 7" label artwork.
" Each 10" will be limited and individually numbered.

Advertising and PR
A project of this magnitude, celebrating a hugely important Anniversary in the Elvis calendar,
will generate huge media interest. Noble PR Ltd., responsible for the phenomenal PR Campaign
which surrounded The Top 3 release of 'That's All Right' in June 2004, will be managing this
project throughout its four month run. The PR Campaign will be backed with press ads in
specialist music publications and national newspapers - details TBC.

All Shook Up Missing on Polk Salad Annie FTD !

There are a lot of discussions / speculations on our board as to why '' All Shook Up '' wasn't
included on the July 1st, 2004 release '' Polk Salad Annie ''. We asked to Ernst Jorgensen why it
wasn't included and here's the answer '' As for ALL SHOOK UP - very simple - It wasn't
recorded, just like I GOT A WOMAN wasn't recorded in it's entirity. Strange, but true! ''. I
guess it clears up the reasons why it wasn't included on '' Polk Salad Annie ''.

Hendrix chose for radio is a Happy Goodman's tune penned by Rusty Goodman called " Who

Rare & Unusual Elvis CD
This has got to be the most unusual Elvis CD ever. This is found in Macau and are sold at the
night markets there. Elsewhere you can't find this - making it quite a rare collectors' item. The
CD is simply entitled: ELVES 1954 - 1976. It has a very nice black and white cover sleeves, and
comes in a very beautiful color slip-case box. The most interesting part of this superb package is
that it claims that it is made by BMG Hong Kong and Marketed by Universal Music Singapore,
Malaysia and Canada. It also says that the CD is manufactured in Austria and the covers printed
in Holland.
Songs include: Anyway You Want Me / After Loving You / Polk Salad Annie / For The Heart /
Jailhouse Rock / Hard Headed Woman The Wonder Of You and another 18 more great Elvis
classics!
Happy hunting!

The Latest News From the FTD Label

April 1st release: “THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN BELT”

As some of you already heard, the April 1st. 2004 release will be a soundboard recording from
January 1971 in Las Vegas. We are currently examining the 5 shows we have for the exact
content of the CD and we may very well choose a show that has already been out on bootleg and
add the best from the other shows. There’s quite a lot of distortion on some of these recordings
making our options somewhat limited.

The general idea behind FTD’s release of soundboards is to document as many hotel
engagements and tours as possibly – unfortunately we don’t have shows from all of these, and in
some cases we may only have one or two from each.

Another April 1st release: “ELVIS RECORDED LIVE ON STAGE IN MEMPHIS”

Along with the regular new release will be a re-release of “ELVIS RECORDED LIVE ON
STAGE IN MEMPHIS” in the classic albums series (the one known from the soundtracks). It
will include the songs that were left out of the original album and consequently the whole show
has to be remixed. The package will be in the 7” format including a booklet with pictures and
information about the show.

May releases

In May we will release the next three soundtrack albums: “PARADISE, HAWAIIAN STYLE”,
“SPINOUT” and “DOUBLE TROUBLE”.

“SO HIGH” replacement CD’s

We are sure you have all now experienced complaints about a digital glitch on the “SO HIGH”
track on the CD of the same name. We are going to send you replacement CD’s in plain bags
with the April release (you will receive as many as you ordered on your initial order). We do it
this way to secure that you will not have substantial extra costs sending these out. We are sorry
about this unfortunate situation, but the mistake happened in the glass mastering, after we had
already approved the master.

The Man With The Golden Belt

The second-quarter 2004 release will be a soundboard recording from January 1971 in Las
Vegas. Follow That Dream Records is currently examining the five shows they have for the exact
content of the CD and may choose a show that has already been out on bootleg and add the best
from the other shows. There’s quite a lot of distortion on some of these recordings making their
options somewhat limited. The general idea behind FTD’s release of soundboards is to document
as many hotel engagements and tours as possible. The release date is April 1st, 2004.

Ernst Jorgensen Updates On BMG & FTD Products

During Bill Burke's luncheon last week Ernst Jorgensen informed the fans with the latest news
updates.
SUN Book:
His upcoming book on Elvis' SUN years will be release by the end on 2004 or early next year.
The reason is that he does not want to "conflict" with all the other released coming out around
the celebration of Elvis' recording of his first single. Bill Burke will assist solving some of the
mysteries Ernst could not figure out.

Follow Up To E1 and E2:

There will be a mass-market release to keep Elvis name alive. You can only do that by replacing
the standard volumes of "Elvis' Golden Records" with new editions which people don't already
know.

Single:
On a new single, Ernst answered "how much money do you want to loose?", a #1 hit will cost
you $1,000,000. A #1 today is about 70.000 copies while in the seventies it would sell about 2
million copies. There are no current plans for a new remix. The last single did not get airplay,
that's where the million dollar comes in to "motivate" people. Also it is hard to get two people at
MTV and VH1 to play the single.

Gospel Set:
For the Gospel set it is the same story as with the Greatest Hits. There will be a new single disk
to keep Elvis' name alive and earn him another Gold and Platinum award.

SUN release:
The announced SUN release will contain 19 masters as we know them, no rarities as it is aimed
at the general public. They tracked down better sources and a guy spend half a year restoring it.
This release should be out this summer.

Memphis 1974 Concert:

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Elvis March 20, 1974 Memphis concert there will be a new
remixed edition, containing the songs which were not released on the original LP release.
Probably on the FTD label, since he mentioned this release during his update on the FTD label.

On the FTD Label:

The April 1st. release will be a soundboard from January 1971 Las Vegas. There will also be
three soundtracks in May, "Paradise Hawaiian Style", "Spin Out" and "Double Trouble". The
outtakes on the last two are more exiting than the originals. Of course there will be more releases
during the year. On the future of the label. They have enough material for the next three to five
years, but not enough for ten years. They keep searching for material they know or hope is out
there.

The Complete Memphis 1974 Concert Released in April/May

2004
Ernst Jorgensen mentioned in an interview that the March 20, 1974 Memphis,TN concert would
be released in April or May 2004 but didn't mention if it was on the BMG label or FTD label.
The show will be finally complete and contain the deleted song not used on the original album. It
will be also a completely new mix.
