Wal-Mart updates commission

Stoughton Speaks
What do you think about the prospect of a new Wal-Mart Supercenter being built here
to replace the existing Wal-Mart store?
Mary Jaeger, Stoughton: I feel indifferent about it. Im not really sure, but it
probably wont change the city too much. Im not very happy with the big development theyre talking about.
Jaeger
Ethan Frost, Stoughton: I think it would detract from the community and our
small businesses. Wal-Mart has a large enough share of the market already.
Frost
Kevin Sorg, Stoughton: I think its a horrible idea, especially if its at taxpayer
expense. Big Box retail isnt going to help the city grow.
Sorg
Dave Leikness, Stoughton: Id kind of like to see it bring more people to town,
but it would hurt the smaller businesses.
Leikness
Jen Post, Stoughton: Im kind of on the fence but leaning toward no. I like
the small-town feel of Stoughton the way it is.

Correction
Because of a legal rules with the Post Office, last weeks issue has been
renumbered and this week resumes with Vol. 133, No. 3.

Daniels noted there are
things he loves about playing music live with a band.
First, he has complete creative control over the performances vs. working in
film or television. At the
same time, its unpredictable.
For me, creatively, its
going to be very exciting,
he said.
And theres another
perk: Look, to be a father

even wants to talk to you
when theyre in their 20s,
theres some value in that
let alone get on stage

Daniels began playing guitar shortly after
he graduated from high
school in 1973. But he
never considered it seriously until the late 1970s,
when he caught a concert
in New York City by the
late Steve Goodman.
He said seeing Goodman
perform was a revelation.
He walked out with
just his acoustic guitar,
Daniels recalled. To see
