I/C : 921117-01-5588 Unit : PISMP AMBILAN JAN 2012 TESL 4. My second practicum program was held at the SK Seri Intan. This school completed its building on December 1 st , 1994 and became fully operational with 695 the number of boys and girls from different ethnic groups. The school is located in Jalan Intan, Taman Intan, 86000 Kluang, with a distance of five miles from the town of Kluang. This school is my second school practicum. As a teacher trainee at the Institute of Teacher Education Campus Tun Hussein Onn, Batu Pahat, I must undergo this practicum training for 2 months starting on 12 th July 2014 to 11 th September 2014. This practicum is for major subjects of TESL (Teaching Bahasa Inggeris as a Second Language) and my minor subject, Language Arts. Practical training is carried out in fulfillment of the conditions laid down by the Institute of Teacher Education. Among the things I have to go through before undertaking this practicum is a briefing session with the practicum unit. The briefing was presented by Mr. Suhaimi. For the practical briefing this time, he emphasized on the practical implementation and the procedure the roles and responsibilities of a trainee teacher in the school, our attendance during the practicum, practicum weightage and guidelines in the school curriculum. During this practicum, I hope to keep on updating practicum portfolio. Not just that, I also hope that I can prepare my daily lesson plan book each day and week without delay. This is one of the conditions and requirements to be a successful teacher trainee. It is also very important so that I can discipline myself soon after the practicum. Other than that, I also hope to build my self-esteem as a teacher. Furthermore, I also hope that I will be able to adapt to the school environment. As a dedicated teacher, my job is not only to teach, but also to educate my students become successful not only academically, but also excels in terms of character, sports and emotion. With this, I can build a strong youth and managed to ensure that my country, Malaysia can stand tall and be comparable to other developed countries. Besides, I also hope that my presence to the school will be accepted by teachers, pupils and school staff. For that, I need to show a friendly attitude towards the school members to build a good relationship between me and the school staff. In addition, I hope that I will be able to establish professional relationships with teachers and school staff. This professional relationship can be established by participating in the school activities. As a future teacher, I hope that through this practical training will help me to build and enhance the self-esteem of a teacher. Finally, I hope to be able to understand and know deeply about the culture and environment of pupils and teachers in primary schools. This was the first experience that can be used an exposure and experience before I became a teacher later.
