1. Controls
-Space is the same as right click, holding either button skips dialogue
-To camp in dungeons, press ESC or right click to the right of the dungeon
screen (above the party)
-In dungeons, all buttons (including the arrow keys) advance dialogue.
Be careful!
-There is no backlog.
-Right clicking in dungeons inspects what's in front of you. Sometimes you
can find hidden items...
-You can walk with the mouse or the arrow keys (I recommend the arrow keys)
-Right-clicking when presented with a choice can repeat the dialogue leading

up to the choice, in case you missed it.

2. Translation Notes
-Some images, like Rance and Sill's names on the left of the screen, and one

map destination, are in Japanese. We don't believe that this will inhib
it
gameplay, and all Japanese names in images are translated somewhere in
the
text (in other words, it's obvious what it says even if you can't read
it).
-Due to the way the game was programmed, the dialogue system doesn't expect
spaces before variables and certain numbers. Therefore, the variable an
d
the word before it won't be seperated with a space. (example: Rance fuc
ked289
girls yesterday) We tried our best to remedy most of these cases, but s
ome
remain; please forgive us with your big hearts.
-Sometimes long dialogue shifts to the right for some reason. All of the dia
logue looks
the same in the scripts and I have no idea why it only happens some of
the time,
so, again, big hearts.
-For clarification: The name we used for the race of beings that live in the

Monster Realm and are ruled by the Demon King is "Dark Lord". The name
of the
beings ruled by Rathowm that reap mortal souls is "Devil". The name of
huge
monsters that lurk in the Devils' Passage is "Daemon".

3. Bugs and Technical Issues
-Mapping is broken (it moves too fast to see), due to the fact that the game

was made for much slower processors.
-The Disappearing Sprites bug:
Sometimes, the sprites present on a map will disappear after one engages
in battle.
This may have something to do with the way the game saves its state in m
emory, but
we're not sure. Items, chests, and certain objects and interactable NPCs
like
enemies and allies will disappear entirely, not just become invisible. B
ut this bug
can easily be averted by saving after each battle; saving causes the gam
e to "reload"
the map, which forces the "missing" sprites to return. There are only a
few spots in
the game where the bug will actually make a difference at all if you sim
ply save after
each battle. Please take note of a few things.
-Make sure you talk to the cat in the Devils' Passage and step on the Go
d
Plate, even if it appears as if you can walk straight to the ma
gic circle.
-Treasure containers in affected dungeons may disappear; this can cause
you
to get stuck in an area because you don't have the required ite
ms, or even
worse, you could miss a collectible! Make sure to save after ea
ch battle.
-Enemies that block your path will disappear after you beat them. Howeve
r,
due to the bug, ALL enemies (and items, and chests, etcetera) w
ill disappear.
This can be averted, again, by saving; but after you save, the
enemy you just
beat will respawn. So make sure that if there's an enemy blocki
ng your way
and you beat it, you walk past where it was first, then save af
ter battle.

4. Gameplay Tips
-Since this is an older Rance game, magic works on Haniwa.
-Ferris can be summoned in battle after you obtain her, in the Items screen.
-Collectible Totals:
Rarerare Stones: 11
Gal monsters: 17
Characters (in "Memories"): 22 (Lia & Maris and Rola & Nor are o
ne person)
-Don't forget to backtrack to earlier areas occasionally.
-Battle and movement speeds can be changed in System (We recommend
Battle Speed: Normal and Movement Speed: Slow)
-First-timers should visit Alice's Mansion, 'kay?
