GENERAL INFORMATION
1. GENERAL: The US Army Small Arms Championships (ALL ARMY) is an advanced combat live-fire
trainin event! Trainin and s"ill e#ercises are applicable to all military small arms firin disciplines! $hile
the elements and spirit of competition are important% all Soldiers are reminded that the Army&s critical intent is
to develop combat firin s"ills at the entry and intermediate level (as 'ell as reconi(in s)perior s"ill at the
hihest levels) and to raise the standard of mar"smanship across the entire force!

4. MATCH OFFICIALS: The Chief of Competitions% US Army Mar"smanship Unit (USAMU) is the Match

Army 56C) is the USAMU 001 Commander!
5. COMPETITOR REQUIREMENTS:
a! Active Army! M)st be a member of the US Army on active d)ty and have a minim)m of *-. days
remainin on their c)rrent term of service!
b! Army Reserve! M)st be a member of the US Army Reserve ordered to active d)ty for trainin or
attendin )nder official orders!
c! The 7)ard (87 and A87)! M)st be an active member of the US Army or Air 8ational 7)ard a)thori(ed
to attend on official orders from the appropriate 8ational 7)ard head9)arters!
d! Military Academy% Collee R5TC Cadets% and 5CS Candidates are eliible to participate!
e! Civilians and military personnel from other services or allied co)ntries are prohibited from participatin
in any event cond)cted d)rin these championships incl)din :6C matches!
6. TEAM REQUIREMENTS:
a! All team events re9)ire at least on of the firin members to be 8e' Shooters (see pararaph +!
C5M;:T6T5R CLASS6,6CAT658)!
b! All Rifle and ;istol Team members (incl)din team captain<coach) from )nits<installations m)st be bona
fide members of the )nit<command for the d)ration of the championship!
c! Competitors 'ho enter on an individ)al basis may participate in a team event% only if assined to the
same )nit enterin a team!
d! A minim)m team is comprised of fo)r firin members on o! "#o$ $%&' ( ) n" &#oo'*. 5n yo)r
team declaration card% yo) 'ill desinate only 3 shooters 'ith one alternate to be )sed only in an emerency! 6f
the alternate is )sed then their score 'ill be )sed in all the previo)s matches and the oriinal shooters scores

+. COMPETITOR CLASSIFICATION:
a! 6ndivid)al matches! The classification system described belo' applies to all individ)al competitions
e#cept :6C! Competitors are eliible to compete for match 'inner and a'ards a)thori(ed for their classification
(;ro% 5pen% 8ovice% or Cadet)! Classification is determined by prior participation in individ)al events at vario)s
levels of competition as described belo'!
*) ;R5 Class= Any competitor 'ho has earned the 1istin)ished >ade or the ;resident?s 0)ndred Tab
in either Rifle or ;istol% or been a member of one of the Service Teams (USAMU% USAR% 87MTC Rifle or
;istol) in the last -3 months!
-) 5;:8 Class= A competitor 'ho has previo)sly fired any 'eapon% in any individ)al or team
competition% at the US Army Small Arms Championships@ the 6nterservice Championships (Service Rifle at
A)antico% BA% or Service ;istol at Little Roc"% AR or ,ort >ennin% 7A)@ or the US 8ational Matches! Any
competitor 'ho is not in the pro class and holds a 8RA classification of Master or above% in Rifle or ;istol%
m)st fire in the 5;:8 cateory reardless of 'hether or not this is their first time at the Army Matches!
NOTICE= An 5pen Class competitor 'ho enters the 8ovice Class and fires in the 8ovice Class 'ill be
dis9)alified! ,or e#ample% a competitor 'ho fired in any Rifle individ)al matches in a previo)s US Army Small
Arms Championships or hiher level championship (e#cept in a C)nior or cadet cateory) is a)tomatically
classified as an 5pen class competitor for all events!
D) 85B6C: Class= A competitor 'ho has not previo)sly fired any 'eapon% in any individ)al or team
competition% at the US Army Small Arms Championships@ 6nterservice Championships (Service Rifle at

NOTICE= A 8ovice Class competitor 'ho incorrectly enters the 5pen Class 'ill not be chaned to the 8ovice
Class and 'ill be re9)ired to contin)e in the class entered!
3) CA1:T Class= A competitor 'ho is c)rrently a st)dent in a collee or )niversity US Army R5TC
proram or a St)dent at $est ;oint Military Academy! A CA1:T 'ill be in the CA1:T class )ntil rad)ation
or they have left the proram!
NOTICE: :#cellence in Competition (:6C) matches! :6C competition is considered open competition
bet'een all eliible competitors 'ho fire an :6C match! Credit points and the appropriate bade (see AR D/.-
22 and AR 2..-4---) are a'arded to the top scorin *.E of eliible non-distin)ished competitors! Soldiers
'ho enter only in :6C events in these championships are considered 5pen class competitors in f)t)re US Army

allo'ed to store 'eapons at any other location! All 'eapons 'ill be sined in immediately )pon arrival! 6f a
team 'ill arrive before * ,ebr)ary yo) m)st inform the match director so that small arms storae is arraned
prior to yo)r arrival! All 'eapons 'ill be inspected by USAMU C)stom ,irearms Shop personnel to ins)re the
'eapons are safe to )se and have not been modified! $eapons 'ill not be ta"en into 9)arters% stored in
vehicles% ta"en off ,ort >ennin% or left )nattended! ,ail)re to follo' this policy 'ill res)lt in dis9)alification!
6ndivid)als failin to t)rn in their 'eapon to 'eapons sec)rity 'ithin one ho)r after the final match each day
'ill forfeit their scores for that day! A 'eapons cleanin area 'ill be provided near the 'eapons storae b)n"er
for the collection of ha(ardo)s 'aste (bore solvent and oil soa"ed patches)! $eapons cleanin 'ill NOT be
done in 9)arters% par"in lots% or in the areas adCacent to the ranes! Solvent and cleanin vats 'ill be provided!

11. TRANSPORTING GO6ERNMENT 5EAPONS: Many competitors have previo)sly enco)ntered
diffic)lties 'ith their chain of command allo'in them to transport their assined overnment 'eapons to the
US Army Small Arms Championships! The follo'in e#cerpts have been ta"en from AR-*H.-** J;hysical
Sec)rity of Arms% Amm)nition% and :#plosivesK dated / S:; -.*D% and are intended to assist yo) sho)ld yo) be
as"ed 9)estions reardin transportation of overnment o'ned 'eapons=

a. $eapons and amm)nition for mar"smanship matches and other p)rposes 'ill be protected at all times!

'ill be stored in a)thori(ed active Army% AR87% USAR% or R5TC arms rooms! $eapons and amm)nition may
be stored in a civilian police station )nder police control! 6f these facilities are not available% 'eapons and
amm)nition 'ill be stored in loc"ed containers or rooms attended at all times by at least one team member or
desinated person!

Mar"smanship 'eapons and amm)nition may be transported to% from% and bet'een ranes% matches% and
a)thori(ed storae locations in privately o'ned vehicles in a sec)re manner as possible% consistent 'ith the
desin of the vehicle! S)ch items m)st be protected from vie' and m)st not be left )nattended d)rin halts!
Storae d)rin overniht halts or matches m)st be per pararaph 3-2 of this re)lation! A)thori(ation to
transport mar"smanship 'eapons and amm)nition in a privately o'ned vehicle m)st be listed on travel orders
or other official doc)mentation!
12. HOUSING: Team Captains<individ)al competitors are responsible for ma"in team<individ)al billetin
arranements! The ,ort >ennin Lodin 5ffice is located in 5lson 0all% >)ildin DHH1% (+.2) 24H-..2+% e#t
3+.*! Rooms% if available% cost L-4!.. to LDD!.. for sinle and L/!.. for each additional )est per day and may
be reserved )sin a B6SA% 1iner?s Cl)b% or MasterCard! Also located on ,ort >ennin is the Uchee Cree"

cabins for rent% and a manaer is on-site at all times!
13. RATIONS: 1)e to the 'ide rane of activities and firin sched)les% no practical feedin arranements can
be made! Soldiers T1Y to ,ort >ennin 'ill have a statement incl)ded in their orders to the effect that JRations
are )navailable d)e to mission re9)irements!K The ,ort >ennin >illetin 5ffice 'ill not iss)e non-availability
of ration statements!
14. TRANSPORTATION: Military transportation to and from the 'eapons storae facility and the far ranes
is available d)rin this championship! ,or all other transportation needs% rental vehicles are located at the
Col)mb)s Metropolitan Airport 'here there are a n)mber of rental car vendors! ,t! >ennin )tili(es a
smartphone application called J8otLostK that 'ill enable yo) to naviate the installation thro)h t)rn-by-t)rn
directions simply by enterin a b)ildin n)mber! 8otLost can be do'nloaded by searchin yo)r device?s
application store! Additionally% a map of the USAMU rane comple# is located on pae 2 of this proram!
15. SQUADDING PAC9ETS: Competitor pac"ets containin s9)addin tic"ets% scorecards and match
information 'ill be iss)ed to each competitor )pon chec" in at Match 0ead9)arters! ;re-reistration by -D
Fan)ary is mandatory!
16. ORIENTATION MEETINGS:TRAIN THE TRAINER CLINICS: 1ates% times% and locations of

1/. UNIFORM: This is a military activity and all Soldiers are e#pected to be in proper )niform and observe
appropriate military co)rtesy! The )niform for all Soldiers is battle dress )niform (>1U<1CU<ACU) 'ith cap%

proram! All shootin e9)ipment<nonstandard )niform items 'ill be removed prior to leavin the rane and

shot val)e) is disp)ted% or if the complaint or protest is not dealt 'ith areeably on the spot% the protest m)st be
