The demands of our customers with

regard to electric drive technology

have become more complex. A higher
degree of flexibility is required in order to deal with a wide
spectrum of control tasks, not only purely positioning functions
but also highly-dynamic flexible assembly and handling func-
tions, for which cam disk control systems are used, thus allow-
ing optimization of the dynamic forces present on a machine.
In complex handling unit, the referencing of the individual axes
is often no longer acceptable. Here, we offer the option of
absolute encoders. The handling of sensitive workpieces
requires flexible travel profiles which have variable speed but
are nonetheless easy to commission.
In applications involving frequent short emergency-stop inter-
ruptions for operational reasons, integrated safety technology
in a motor controller offers numerous advantages and is this
regarded as essential in many installations.
The Flexline portfolio
In addition to extra control functions,
users also also demanding a high
degree of price flexibility.
The costs of drive technology should reflect the purpose of a
given application with users paying only for what they actual-
ly need.
Our future range of new motor controllers for servo and step-
per motors is based on the principle:
Working from a standard to produce the right solution every
time for individual positioning applications.
Flexible function but with the same ease of handling.
thanks to common configuration software FCT
Simple PLC programming
thanks to uniform control interfaces with FHPP data profile
Flexible combination to form individual multi-axis applica-
tions without additional costs thanks to the integrated
CANopen Drivebus Standard.
Matched in terms of price, performance and function

Closed-loop-controlled stepper motor controller CMMS-ST
Reliable positioning at low cost.
: ServoLight - the controller combines convenience with
practical benefit, i.e. it combines the attractive prices of step-
per motor technology with the reliable operation of servo
motors.
To provide secure storage of parameter settings, it is possible
optionally to use an SD memory card which will allow settings
to be transferred to replacement unit during servicing work.
In combination with the angle of rotation detection of the
motor series EMMS-ST, the drive packages offer previously
undreamt-of facilities.
Motor controller
Fully closed-loop-controlled drive with classic current, speed
and position control
Torque control as an additional operating mode
In the case of overload, all that happens is that a lag error
develops which is compensated out before the target posi-
tion is reached. No loss of positions or steps which users
otherwise fear with stepper motors.
Motor voltages 24 .. 75 V DC
Nominal motor current 8 A
Integrated mains filter and braking resistor
Open-loop operation for standard stepper motors in low-res-
onance microstep operation.
: The reliable closed-loop motor control allows full exploita-
tion of the motor characteristic. This results in additional
torque and speed compared with the use mode of operation of
stepper motors.

Classic servo is the choice whenever the top priority is dynamic
characteristics.
The CMMS-AS is the dynamic
brother of the stepper motor con-
trollers CMMS-ST. It can display
its strengths whenever an appli-
cation requires maximum speed,
e.g. spindle and geared drive
solutions.
In combination with our new
servo motor range, this controller
covers power ratings up to the
motor size EMMS-AS- 100S ab.
Handling during commissioning and parameterization, and
control functions, are exactly the same as with the stepper
motor controller CMMS-ST. The SD memory card used to store
parameters is also identical.
Motor controller
Motor power 800 VA
Intermediate circuit voltage 320 VDC
Nominal motor current 4 A, peak current 10 A.
Digital motor feedback via Endat 2.1
Displacement encoding via either single-turn or absolute
multi-turn encoder.
Integrated safe stop in accordance with EN954, Cat. 3
The positioning characteristics and various control interfaces
are 100% identical to those of the CMMS-ST.
Performance servo controller series CMMP-AS
For maximum dynamism, wide power range and expanded
control functionality.
Our aim with the CMMP-AS controller
series is to cover the entire power range
cost-effectively.
we offer this controller in four different
power classes, with power classes 1+2
prepared for connection to a single-
phase mains supply.
To cater for different mains voltages
around the world, these units are
equipped with world power supply units
with integrated active PFC (power factor
correction ).
These units allow the motors to be operated with a constant
intermediate circuit voltage of 360 V DC without regard to the
level of th main supply within a range of 100 230 V AC. The
motor power outputs, speeds and torque values are thus unaf-
fected by the supply network.
The two higher power classes are for operation with a three-
phase supply network.
PFC 1 = Power factor correction:
Reduction of mains overshoots in accordance with EN 61000-3-2
Reduction of reactive power component , cos-phi 0,97
Regulated and increased intermediate circuit voltage of 360 VDC

With the controller series CMMP-AS, we cover the power range
from 0.5 KVA to 6 KVA. We are thus prepared for all load and
dynamic requirements within our modular axis system.
The CMMP-AS series naturally supports the new servo motors
EMMS-AS, which are equipped with an EnDat rotary encoder,
and also the old motors MTR-AC, with which the angle of rota-
tion is represented by a resolver signal.
