Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to; 1. recite a poem entitled My New Pet by Bruce Lansky with correct pronunciation and intonation; 2. match the pictures of pets animals with its names correctly; 3. listen to and answer questions about My Favourite Pet by referring to guided question and answer card.

Poem : My New Pet by Bruce Lansky refers to Appendix II
1. Teacher recites a poem entitled My New Pet to pupils. 2. Teacher reminds pupils to listen carefully because they will be given a task in practice stage. 3. Teacher repeats the poem. 4. Teacher asks pupils pets that are found in the poem. 5. Teacher shows pictures of animals in the poem on the slideshow and says aloud the name it.

1. Teacher divides pupils into 6 groups (each group has 4 pupils). 2. Teacher gives each group guided answer and question cards. 3. Teacher gives each pupil a task sheet. 4. In a group of four, three pupils ask questions to a pupil by using a guided question card. 5. The pupil will answer the questions by referring to the guided answer card. 6. The three pupils jolt down the pupils answers in the task sheet given. 7. The pupils in the group will take turn to answer the questions. 8. Teacher observes and guides pupils activity. 9. Each group presents their work.
