Baby Boomers

Born: 1946-1964
Coming of Age: 1963-1972
Age in 2004: 40-58
Current Population: 40 million
The Baby Boomers was the original 'generation'. And it was a useful label because, initially, it
described those born in the immediate years after World War II, when there was thanks to soldiers
returning home a significant spike in births as they slowly recovered from the economic hardships
experienced during wartime. This new generation of Baby Boomers experienced an unprecedented
level of economic growth and prosperity throughout their lifetime. They entered the world in a time
of relative hardship, but thanks to education, government subsidies, rising property prices and
technological advancements they have emerged as a successful and affluent generation. Many baby
boomers are now settling into retirement, with many more luxuries and comforts in their golden
years than experienced by generations before them.

Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Sylvester Stallone, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, George W Bush, Elton John,
Lionel Richie.

Generation X
Born: 1966-1976
Coming of Age: 1988-1994
Age in 2004: 28 to 38
Current Population: 41 million
Sometimes referred to as the lost generation
Generation X came after the Baby Boomers, and typically covers people born between the mid
1960s and the early 1980s. Gen X was shaped by global political events that occurred during this
generations youth. Relative to previous generations, Gen X is more open to diversity and has learnt
to embrace differences such as religion, sexual orientation, class, race and ethnicity.

Some examples of people born in Generation X:
Charlie Sheen, Ben Stiller, Sarah Jessica Parker, Adam Sandler, David Cameron, Gordon Ramsay,
Jennifer Lopez, Jay Z, Gwen Stefani, Matt Damon, Miranda Hart, Liam Gallagher, Robbie Williams,
Victoria Beckham.
Generation Y:
Born: 1977-1994
Coming of Age: 1998-2006
Age in 2004: 10 to 22
Current Population: 71 million
You guessed it, Generation Y came after Generation X. Generation Y covers people born between
the 1980s and the year 2000, and these individuals are sometimes referred to as Gen Y, the
Millennial Generation, or simply Millennials. Generation Y has been shaped by the technological
revolution that occurred throughout their youth. Gen Y grew up with technology, so being connected
and tech savvy is in their DNA. Equipped with latest technology and gadgets, such as iPhones,
laptops and lately tablets, Generation Y is online and connected 24/7, 365 days a year. Many
Millennials grew up seeing their Baby Boomer parents working day and night doing stressful
corporate jobs, which has shaped their own views on the workforce and the need for work-life
balance.
Here at Talented Heads we are really interested in Generation Y. We are Millennials, and we
understand ourselves better than anyone else!

Generation Z:
Born: 1995-2012
Coming of Age: 2013-2020
Age in 2004: 0-9
Current Population: 23 million and growing rapidly
Generation Z is the generation of children born after the Year 2000. They are the children of
Generation X and Generation Y. To be fair we dont know a whole lot about the character traits of
Generation Z, because they havent been on the earth for very long yet. Generation Z are predicted to
be highly connected, living in an age of high-tech communication, technology driven lifestyles and
prolific use of social media. A lot of what we think we know about Generation Z is inferred, and only
time will tell whether we have been correct.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Suri Cruise, Blue Ivy Carter, Brooklyn Beckham, Apple Martin
