The Gospel is Good News

Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions,
and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the
power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a
sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At
the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the
teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will
have their picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in
the newsletter.
God is a good God. The word gospel means Good News. When
we take the gospel of Jesus to the lost we are actually bringing
them the good news that the one true God is not angry with
them, but He loves them very much.
Romans 2:4, ...the goodness of God leads you to repentance.
Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron,
and his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love
is fowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things
will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great
you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed.

Some cultures and nations have absolutely no concept of
a God who is kind and loving and is the One who made a
sacrifce for them by giving His own Son! Even in our own
culture, people who just know about God without knowing
Him personally many times think God is an angry God.
They believe if they do anything wrong, Hell do something
horrible to them. They dont know how much God loves
them-Hes not angry at them! Another reason that the Gospel
is such good news is that God actually wants to be close
friends with people. God made us because He wanted friends
to talk with, love, and be with. Another part of the good news
is that salvation and heaven are free gifts. We dont have to
earn them by doing good works. Jesus paid the price for us.
