Emmanuel College: Some Year 10 students attended the Food Share Open Day held
recently. Food Share Warrnambool services 70 agencies each week which support
local people in need. Each week Emmanuel College students help with the setting up
and collection of groceries for the Monday evening Soup Kitchen (St Josephs Hall).

Warrnambool Rural Australians for Refugees: Interested in hosting a Home
Among the Gumtrees visit in January? - helping to assist asylum seekers have a
holiday. Meeting at Brophy Youth & Family Services, Timor St, Saturday 6th

Pack up your Troubles: Concert in honour of those who fought and fell during
WW1. Friday 5th September 7.30pm at Thomson Memorial Church, Terang. See

22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
First Eucharist
Thank you to all involved in preparing the children
for First Eucharist.
It is important that we, but especially the parents,
continue to support the children in modelling the
Christian life for them.
Id like to remind the parents of the commitment
they made at the beginning of their childs formal
preparation:
Fr John: Will you (the parents) continue to nourish your own faith by regularly
hearing and reflecting on the Word of God, receiving his Body & Blood and living
out the values of the gospel?

Migrant & Refugee Sunday (7th September)
A time to celebrate the cultural diversity of our nation and especially to consider the
plight of the many who have fled their homelands in fear.
You are invited to bring memorabilia of the country of your birth to display over
that weekend.
Please bring food to share following the 10.30am Mass next Sunday. This may
include a specialnative dish.

Pastoral Planning throughout the Diocese of Ballarat

We will host a Gathering of Southern Zone parish representatives and interested
parishioners to discuss future directions with regard to our faith communities.

Nativity Exhibition: For the past two years Catholic parishes of Ballarat have hosted
a display of over 200 Nativity cribs in St Patricks Cathedral Hall. This year St
Josephs Parish will be hosting the Exhibition (Gathering Space & Parish Hall) 11th -
14th December. If you have a nativity scene with an interesting story that you would
like to lend to the exhibition please contact the Parish Office.
