Session Detail
In this session, we will discuss about the importance of high availability and disaster recovery for DB2
environment and various options
available using IBM technologies. It includes active-passive cluster, active-active cluster, selective
replication and bi-directional replication etc.It
will also discuss about the important aspect and topology support on every feature or the solution
available for HA and DR that should help you to
choose the right solution based on your business requirement.
With the exponential increase in the data consumption and the complexity of transformation and
analytical applications, warehouse databases are often marred with issues like frequent slow
responsiveness, sudden spike in system load, untuned adhoc queries and so on. Such issues severely
impact the business as application's SLAs could not be met. In addition to this, much human effort is
spent on doing RCAs each time such issues occur. Starting with basics, this session will help you to
understand various concepts of WLM that can be used to tackle these problems automatically with
minimum intervention of the DBAs. Thereby ensuring stable and healthy system with minimal efforts
eventually leading to a much reduced TCO.
Performance issues are relatively more challenging to resolve, as the symptoms they leave behind are
very subtle in nature. This session will walk through a structured approach for resolving such issues,
along with tips on effectively leveraging DB2 monitoring infrastructure to do so. It will also present
interesting 'real' performance case studies where these techniques haven been applied to quickly get
to the root cause of performance bottleneck.
This Session provides insights on top DB2 10.5 Features. Get to know about the exciting feature
called "DB2 BLU Acceleration" which provides Extreme performance and storage savings, leveraging
dynamic in-memory and columnar technologies, for analytic processing without compromising high
concurrency. Also explore the enhancements added in DB2 10.5 purescale side for E-Commerce .
This session will also highlight best practices for upgrading from older releases of DB2 to v10.5
Lunch Break - 12:45 PM to 02:00 PM
Movement Break 02:50 PM to 03:00PM
Tea Break 03:50 PM to 04:10 PM
This session is about performance tuning of SQL query. A systematic step-by-step approach of finding
and removing performance bottlenecks will be discussed. Various scenarios will be presented, where
this approach is very effective. The attendees will also learn how to use different diagnostic information
like explain plan, section explain with actuals, etc.
This session introduces how compression works in DB2 and different compression techniques
available in DB2 that can be leveraged by the end user to ensure Optimal storage solution. Users can
use various compression techniques discussed in this session to suit their application requirements.
DB2 Storage Optimization feature gives you the ability to transparently compress data on disk in order
to decrease disk space and storage infrastructure requirements. DB2 can compress user data, XML,
backup images, archived logs to save on disk space by enabling one of several compression features
that will get covered in this talk.
IBM Informix, with an eye on the near future, focuses on the ever changing database usage trends,
demanding customer requirements and ever expanding industry horizons. In its continuous endeavor
to expand its capabilities in specialized area and meet the customer needs, Informix recently has done
valuable enhancement in the area of in-memory warehouse (Informix Warehouse Accelerator),
NoSQL/JSON support, Manage Internet of Things (IoT) along with cloud compatibility and high
availability.
This session shall explain the Informix enhancements in these areas and how these enhancements
In this session, we will discuss the IBM Real-time Operational Insights Platform, covering the

The new Workload Manager is designed to efficiently manage the InfoSphere DataStage jobs
workload. In a typical real world scenario, a user could submit too many jobs in a short time, or there
could be hundreds of jobs requested to run simultaneously. Under such conditions, the system is put
under an extreme load, trying to start thousands of worker processes and causing jobs to fail or time
out. Even if all the jobs can start, the overall time can be slower than if they were batched. The
Workload Manager provides a configurable way to limit the number of simultaneous job starts. It gives
users ways to prioritise the starting of job runs and protect the system from overloading by restricting
No organization has the time or resources to spend time on low-level security operations or manual
processes. Not only do manual approaches slow down the business, but they are risky and error-prone.
As your business grows and the scope of security projects increase, you need security solutions to
become more streamlined. In the era of big data where data is growing in volume, variety and velocity,
security strategies should be optimized and transparent, not more complex or obscure. InfoSphere
Guardium Data Activity Monitor provides key capabilities to help organizations streamline data security
management without changes to databases, networks or applications
In the current business landscape, data governance has become a "C" level discussion. Security,
compliance and data life cycle management are issues at the front of our customers, executives.
whats different today than what was data governance in the past, is rather than just risk mitigation and
cost control, its about opening up the doors to getting the most out of big data that hits your bottom-line
for driving corporate strategies, increasing customer growth and value and making a difference outside
of whats happening within your IT operations. This session is to cover some of the key capabilities of
InfoSphere Information Server portfolio in Data Governance and Curation space.

Whether you have already deployed InfoSphere Optim, or you are just getting started with your data
lifecycle management projects, this session is for you! In this session we share tips for streamlining
test data management, protecting data privacy by masking, and accelerating data archiving and
application retirement projects and discuss the best practices to get the most benefit from InfoSphere
Optim and your data lifecycle management projects
Traditionally, business requirements must be translated from their original expressions into technical
designs and code. This approach creates risk, increases the opportunity for errors due to incorrect
interpretations, adds complexity, increases rigidity and increases the cost of changes. However, if you
implement a system in which business users can use WODM/ILOG to drive and create business rules
directly in DataStage and QualityStage jobs, you can help reduce risks, avoid errors and increase
agility. The end result is that integration should be more easily aligned to your ever-changing business
and IT landscape. This session will introduce users to the relevant use cases, integration methods and
topologies. Session also provides deep insight on Data Click

Session Detail
In this session we will cover the various facets of Big data analytics, the challenges involved and the
technologies that address these challenges. We will deep dive specifically on Analytics of Big Data at
rest viz Hadoop and BigInsights. We will also cover the most sought after Big Data use cases and
some real life case studies.
Harnessing value from Big Data analytics require the right platform with easy-of-use and deployment of
analytics services. Customers prefer to get things done on the cloud as it simplifies the process of
setting up the infrastructure and managing the analytics platform. IBM Analytics for Hadoop service on
cloud provides a single click deployment of the clustered analytic engine quickly with flexibility to scale
up or scale down the cluster to suit your needs. Analyze your data using out of the box applications like
Hive, BigSQL, Jaql etc and visualize the result of analytics using IBM BigSheets. Various data ingestion
tools such as Cloudant data sync application and REST based import of data do simplify the app
Maximise Hadoop data security with BigSQL 3.0 : InfoSphere BigInsights 3.0 brings with it a new and
improved SQL processing engine - Big SQL which empowers the Hadoop platforms with a rich-set of
Security features. As Hadoop becomes more business-critical today, the security of data takes utmost
importance. Here in this session we brief you about all the built-in security features available to you with
Big SQL 3.0 to protect both your 'Data at rest' and 'Data in Motion'.
Low Latency "OLAP" with IBM BigInsights Hbase: Apache HBase is the preferred choice for business
organizations over Hive or other NoSQL technologies. If you need high performance random read/write
access to your Big Data you are probably going to leverage HBase on your Hadoop cluster. With IBM's
Big SQL technology, you can use InfoSphere BigInsights to query HBase using industry-standard
SQL. In this session you will learn about how Big SQL can be clubbed with BI platforms such as
MicroStrategy, Cognos, Tableau to execute "OLAP" style queries to leverage data stored on the
Hadoop system in an efficient and non disruptive manner.

Big Data introduces a new paradigm on how we manage and analyse data to deliver insight. But does
it mean we throw away what we've learnt in the last 30 years? In this presentation, Andrew and Amit
will discuss the role of the Data Warehouse in a Big Data era, describe some of the examples we've
seen in the industry and how technologies like Big SQL is modernising the data warehouse.
Why write SQL differently for different vendor products and different data clusters be it HADOOP or
traditional RDBMS. IBM with its track record in standardizing platforms and thereby ensuring
customers application investments are preserved, set out to leverage and bring their long experience in
RDBMS technologies in the world of Hadoop and the result is Big SQL 3.0. Not only does this state of
the art technology brings application transperancy across these two worlds, but also ensures industry
leading performance through exploiting parallel processing architecture and design.
In this presentation, we will introduce you to the technology of this next generation offering, provide a
technical deep dive on the architecture and design of this technology that enables it to achieve the
performance differentiation that it is built to achieve in Big Data clusters.
Abstract: Meet our fictional character: Aarav. Aarav has had a busy day packed with meetings. He
switches on the TV to catch the FIFA WorldCup match between Netherlands, his favorite team and
Spain. Robben scores a goal and Aarav reaches out to his phone to update his favorite teams
impending victory on social media. Just then his phone rings and it is Avinash calling from Sao Paulo
from the football stadium to celebrate Netherlands victory with his friend. As Aarav gets ready to wind
up the day, he gets a targeted advertisement on his social media informing him about a 25% discount
on FIFA world cup shirt supporting Netherlands. Avinash meanwhile is exhausted and reaches his hotel
room when he receives a message about a tourism deal to Rio de Janeiro, the sand beach nearby.
Avinash likes the idea and decides to take the package. All this while, behind the dressing room,
Spains coach Vicente del Bosque is looking at the lost match and analysing the opponents behavioral
patterns. Through latest visualization techniques and player preferential directional analysis, he sees
that Robben has a tendency to move left and this was his 2nd left move in the 3 matches that he has
played. He strategizes on how he can use this to his team's advantage. These 3 scenarios outline how
BigData Analytics can be applied for toursim, targeted marketing and player preferential directional
analysis. This session delves deep into how analytics can be applied in the realms of sports and how a
unconventional market can be pursued
In this session we will discuss multiple options to integrate CDC with BigData to replicate changes from
source systems to a BigData system making real-time data available for analytics. Also covers,
replicating real time data using CDC from different source / transactional systems to Cloud.

Session Detail
Enterprise Content has transformed over the last few years not just in type and size but also in how
businesses perceive it.
But the biggest change has been how forward thinking businesses look at content as an opportunity to
excel and out-compete in a tough marketplace. IBM ECM solutions help organizations manage a
growing diversity of incoming information, identify and analyze what's relevant, and deliver data in
context to knowledge workers and employees engaging with customers.
In this session you will learn about the entire IBM ECM portfolio including: Advanced Document
Imaging; ECM Experience and Platform; Advanced Case Management; Information Lifecycle
Governance; ECM High Value Solutions and our newest Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.
We would share some of the best practices and recommendations for application development
gathered from practitioners in the field. It provides pointers and guidance in effective application
development. We will cover topics such as High Availability, Load Balancing, Running Multithreads in
RuleRunner etc. Also cover how to carry out Task Master Custom actions, practical difficulties faced
and how to resolve those, experiences to be shared.
IBM Case Manager 5.2 helps organizations to work smarter by enabling them to extract more value out
of their informationwhether its contained within a customer request, loan application, or complex
industry or regulatory procedure. The software provides a flexible framework, a cohesive approach and
integrated tools for managing cases, allowing organizations to work smarter while addressing
auditability and regulatory requirements. It empowers caseworkers and knowledge workers to extract
more value and insight from critical information, enabling them to make better and faster decisions on
cases. With IBM Case Manager 5.2, all case data, documentation, analysis and third-party applications
are tied to a single case, customer or standard occupational classification (SOC) number.
The availability of IBM Case Manager for Investigations (ICMI) was announced in June 2014. A
replacement of Intelligent Investigations Manager, this solution is based on IBM Case Manager 5.2.
This session covers how ICMI offers a powerful solution for optimizing non-fraud investigations for
organizations; how supervisors, investigators, analysts, field agents and case workers can collaborate
in a single integrated environment, reviewing and contributing to investigations as they move through to
completion. The solution manages cases specifically for law enforcement and intelligence, and offers

The new extended Case History feature of IBM Case Foundation helps gain deeper insights into
deployed case management solutions by enabling end users visualize the case state, progression and
transition using TimeLines, Histograms and Snapshot viewer widgets.
Through a highly interactive, rich graphical user interface, the Timeline Visualizer widget provides a
visual representation of a case by showing the progression of events, tasks, and work items over time
from the start of the case. An histogram which shows the event density helps identify the high and low
points during the lifetime of a case. Additionally, the snapshot viewer, helps view the state of the case

The Education industry is at a tipping point. There are enormous challenges arising due to large gaps
between demand and supply of quality education, misalignment between education and employment,
and the one-size-fits-all approach to education that is leading to widespread student disengagement.
On the other hand, we are also witnessing a paradigm shift in the use of technology in teaching and
learning. Students, educators and parents are finding compelling ways to use multiple modalities and
technologies to enrich learning and personalize instruction.

India is one of fast growing e-Commerce markets where the business infrastructure and practices are
quite different from the developed markets. This session will cover a case study of the first smarter
commerce implementation in India, which includes lessons learned, solution for new business models
and processes. The session will touch wide variety of IBM Smarter Commerce products including,

Cities across the world function with the help of multiple interconnected agencies with disparate
domains. They need the ability to run as a single operational entity with a common need for the right
information at the right time.
The IBM Intelligent Operations Center(IOC) is an advanced software solution designed to facilitate
effective supervision and coordination of operations across cities. It provides the flexibility to integrate
multiple complex systems performing key functions into a single interface. The solution is capable of
analysing, processing and presenting disparate information to city co-coordinators. This in turn
facilitates appropriate decision making in real time .
In this session, we are planning to explore the possibility of smart city implementation in India by
considering the various successful smart city implementations across the world using the IOC solution.
The prime focus of this session will be on the capabilities and features of IOC 1.6 version.

Indias social benefit delivery mechanism is not mature and the benefits dont reach the people who
really need them.
IBM Curam can be used to provide a solution in assessing the citizens based on their current living
situation and appropriately provide them with a need based outcome plan. Such a plan can then be
used to administer social programs in a structured manner. For example, an individual who falls under
the poverty line will be assessed to have multiple needs such as vocational training, basic needs (food
and shelter) etc. and an appropriate plan to alleviate such needs will be created.
In this session, the following content will be presented:
IBM Intelligent City Planning (ICPO) and Operations enables exploration and discovery of geospatial
and temporal relationships among city data records, producing insights into city operations that inform
better city-wide decision making and planning. IBM Intelligent City Planning and Operations is an
application of IBM Intelligent Operations Center (IOC) platform.
The smarter parking solution leverages ICPO and IOC capabilities to provide a command center
application to receive events from parking resources, correlate events and analyze data to better
manage parking needs of cities. The solution receives data from external data sources such as parking
sensors, traffic controllers, Parking fee payment vendors, displays them geospatially on a map and
tracks parking availability at near real-time to help divert motorists to available parking spaces.
The presentation will also review if the smarter parking solution can be extended to Indian city
operations and the challenges that need to be overcome.

Auto manufacturers and parts suppliers have relied on manual processes to exchange transactional
data. Thousands of invoices, purchase orders, and shipping notices are manually filled in and sent
around each day, giving birth to excessive and unnecessary delays, increasing human error, and
pumping up processing costs.
With a shared cloud platform that extends to the length and breadth of India, exchanging or availing of
transactional data has become a cinch. IBM's cloud computing platform - will help to improve
efficiencies and reduce costs across the entire ecosystem. Exchange of information on various critical
logistics and financial transactions can be done seamlessly between supply chain partners without any
manual intervention. This will also help to drastically reduce human error, extensive transaction delays
and increased processing costs.
This solution for Automobile Industry is built on IBM's Sterling B2B Collaboration Network technology
that will eliminate inefficiencies by standardizing, automating and accelerating the exchange of
transactional data through the cloud. This will enable members to drive faster, more accurate
processing at reduced operational cost, helping ensure the right products are delivered to the right
customers at the right time.

IBM Concert changes the way people work in performance management processes. In
todays business environment, delays in getting information to the right people at the
right time can cause decision-making latency. Too often, the process slows down,
waiting for people to return emails or get back to the office to review their data. But with
IBM Concert, out of the office no longer means out of the loop. Guided business
processes and personalized task lists delivered through a highly graphical user
interface dramatically improve the speed and quality of team-based decision-making.
Available over the web and through a range of mobile devices, IBM Concert pushes
critical metrics and KPIs to decision makers where they need it, when they need it. IBM
Concert lets users share relevant data and analysis, and collaborate on making the
right decision faster.

Extensible Visualization with IBM Cognos BI
===========================================
Visualization of data is a keystone of reporting. Different sets of data require different
types of visualizations to provide maximum insight. Fixed libraries of visualization types
for use in reporting can be very limiting to a report author trying to present the data in
the most consumable format. Providing a mechanism to extend the visualization
options allows a report author to pick or define new visualization types to meet the
needs of their business users. Let us understand what can RAVE (Rapidly Adaptive
Visualization Engine) and how it can help consumers achieve limiless possibilities of
charting out their data.
Movement Break 10:20 AM to 10:30 AM
Join us to see how IBM Infosphere MDM successfully delivered results for a Indian
Govt Data set & managing all within our local challenges :)
We will be sharing the highlights from a on-ground project we completed, for one of our
client's, using real life data. Challenges were numerous, right from incomplete data
because of poor transcription due to lower literacy levels or ones with very few
attributes. This heterogenous data from multiple data silo's needed to be matched
against a master data. Products from Information Server - Datastage, Quality stage incl
India Rule Set, IBM MDM SE was stitched together to churn out meaningful data for
down stream consumption. Please join us for this session wherein we will share how
we exploited the product features, came up with simple yet innovative solutions,
algorithms that was put in place, to tackle the problems on hand. Key here was to have
your client engaged all along. Without their support, it would have been an uphill task!
Movement Break 11:20 PM to 11:30PM
While traditional data analysis tools catered to those fluent in the statistical sciences, a
new type of user is emerging, who desires to share the inferences that data analysis
can provide but without requiring complex specifications and the translation of a
verbose scientific presentation. IBM SPSS Analytic Catalyst is a tool that selectively
performs comMonday, data analysis tasks and prioritizes findings presented as simple,
interactive visualizations with plain language explanations. This deMonday, stration will
show how users can rapidly discover facts that may have been overlooked and take
actions that are driven by their data.

=========================================
IBM Cognos Dynamic Cubes is the newest cubing option with IBM Cognos BI.
Released with IBM Cognos BI 10.2, Dynamic Cubes is already creating waves of
enthusiam amongst the user community. Solving most performance related puzzles
associated with Voluminous data, Dynamic Cubes takes advantage of abundance in
hardware resources delivers very quick output; something that many customers very
looking forward to. Lets get introduced to Dynamic cubes and learn a few basics about
it.
Predictive maintenance software solutions from IBM access multiple data sources in
real time to predict asset failure or quality issues so your organization can avoid costly
downtime and reduce maintenance costs. Driven by predictive analytics, these
solutions detect even minor anomalies and failure patterns to determine the assets and
operational processes that are at the greatest risk of problems or failure. This early
identification of potential concerns helps you deploy limited resources more cost
effectively, maximize equipment uptime and enhance quality and supply chain
processes, ultimately improving customer satisfaction.
More enterprises are coming to the realization that the true value of big data can be
derived only through analytics. This session describes how our clients are achieving
dramatic results by using built-in IBM Netezza Analytics, which is a robust analytics
framework that is included with IBM PureData System for Analytics. IBM Netezza
Analytics includes a library of over 200 parallelized analytic algorithms. The algorithms
can help create new analytics applications and enable clients to use some of the
powerful analytics applications that they are already using in the database on their IBM
expert integrated system. Such applications include SAS, Revolution R, SPSS, and
Fuzzy Logix.
Lunch Break - 12:45 PM to 02:00 PM
Movement Break 02:50 PM to 03:00PM
There is more technology disruption in the market today than at any time in recent
memory. Cloud computing, big data, social media and mobile are only the most
prominent examples. In this session you'll learn about what these disruptions mean for
predictive analytics and how the IBM SPSS predictive analytics portfolio is taking
advantage of them.
Tea Break 03:50 PM to 04:10 PM
In a recent study of 3,000 CMOs, Marketing Sherpa reported that 80% had no ability to
measure social media ROI. Social measurement is a big data problem, challenging
marketers with the velocity and variety of the digital data. Leading consumer brands are
leveraging social context to drive superior customer experiences. This session, will
showcase advanced social media analytics strategies and methodologies used to
design, develop, deploy and measure with a variety of global, best-of-breed examples.
If youre a social business manager, social media analyst, marketing leader, social
media leader, or demand gen person, this session is for you!
You might have heard of terminologies like Golden copy of customer, 360' view ,
master patient index(MPI) etc. While these programs are, usually, implemented by
enterprise to achieve better business outcomes in delivering value to customers, there
is another very important reason - meeting the compliance norms of the Regulatory
Authorities. In this case study, you will learn how an Australian Bank met the APRA
(Australian Prudential Regulation Authority) compliance standard by on-boarding the
data about Institutional, Retail and wealth customers in to IBM MDM and performed the
standardization and matching of the customer spread across 5 different source
systems. The resulting analysis of linkages / potential duplicates was reported to APRA.

Hands On Lab Detail
IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR) Change Data Capture (CDC) is a replication solution that
captures database changes as they happen and delivers them to target databases, message queues,
or an ETL solution. CDC for oracle databases supports multiple configurations including local log
reading, remote log reading and log shipping configuration. In log shipping configuration, CDC uses
copies of complete archive logs that ships to a secondary system that is accessible to CDC. The logs
are shipped using custom scripts or Oracles Data Guard component. However, if the customer is using
a combination of both custom scripts and Oracle Data Guard to ship the archive logs, then the
customer is forced to use CDC Manual log shipping configuration, which requires that the log files be
registered with CDC. CDC Oracle Redo physical standby configuration addresses this limitation by
providing a configuration where CDC reads logs off the standby device irrespective of the log shipment
method. This configuration is applicable to CDC Oracle Redo for Linux, AIX, HP-UX Itanium and
Solaris only. This configuration is available from 10.2.1 IIDR version of CDC.
This hands on lab session will cover the IBM ISAS/PDOA administration techniques along with
managing ETL requirements with InfoSphere DataStage and data replication using IBM CDC as part of
an end-to-end data warehousing platform.

Commodities like wheat, rice are actively traded. An example use case: Wheat is grown in
punjab and its yield is heavily dependent on weather where it grows, lets assume it hot
around 40 degrees centigrade, ideal being between 25-35 degs. the crop yield is going to
be low. also it needs to be stored in granaries, granary weather is to be around 24 degs
and in MP gwalior weather is 38 Degs. then crop might have a shelf life of a week . so if its
not dealt with within 7 days,it affects the commodity pricing since demand supply
mismatch increasing the wheat prices in the market.
This demo will enable the participants to create dashboards in IBM Cognos Workspace for
use by Database Administrators (DBA) and System Adminsitrators (SA). DBAs
dashboards will include information such as tablespace usage, which users are creating
