As a Waste Management Facility Manager you will coordinate all waste management related projects and staff on Bodu Huraa : All applicants must hold a valid work permit Managing all waste management related projects on Bodu Huraa. These will include: o Collection of solid waste from residents living on Bodu Huraa. o Separation of solid waste collected from residents on Bodua Huraa. o Separated materials to be processed & packaged ready for exportation to Thila Fushi. o Maintenance of compost. Organizing collection of solid waste from residents on Bodu Huraa: o Solid waste to be collected from residents on a daily basis. o Transportation of waste to waste management centre using a large guardia (wheel barrow) o Volume of waste collected and time of collection to be recorded on data sheet. Management of separation of materials collected from residents on Bodu Hurra: o PET, metals, paper, cardboard, glass & biodegradable products to be separated according to protocol. o All non-biodegradable and non-recyclable products to be incinerated or processed according to the protocol. Management of separating materials to be processed & packaged ready for exportation to Thila Fushi: o PET, metals, paper, cardboard and glass will be processed and packaged according to the protocol and training provided. o All recyclable materials will then be stored on site until the volume has reached a capacity suitable for exportation. o Once exportation capacity has been reached, all materials will be moved and loaded onto a dhoni for transportation to Thila Fushi. Management of composting process: o Training will be provided covering all aspects of the processes and materials involved in the production of compost. o Compost to be maintained and checked on a daily basis. o Biodegradable materials to be separated according to the protocol and training provided.
As the Waste Management Facility Manager, you will be required to attend regular training exercises along with the weeklong Waste Management Attendant course prior to starting this position. The training will cover: Reporting Finances Staff Management Safety regulations Compost production & Maintenance Processing & Packaging of waste materials Waste Management Supervisor & Co-workers Waste Management Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the waste management centre. As the Manager will need to communicate with staff and senior management a good grasp of English, Bangladeshi and Dhivehi will be required On site there will be three Waste Management Attendants who will report to the waste management supervisor. Equipment All safety equipment will be provided o Mask, boots, goggles, overalls, boots must be worn at all times when clearing, separating and processing waste materials. Salary & Benefits Salary for this position is $400 US per month. Shared accommodation will be provided with all three waste management attendants living in the same house. Accommodation will cover basic living conditions. o Shower, kitchen, toilet, cooking utensils, mattress. Drinking water will also be provided.
