Specific Objective: To demonstrate to my audience how to make a box
cake mix in an easily way, especially for people that dont know baking.
Central idea: Cake is delicious, whether it's made from scratch or from a
mix. Personally, I'm a fan of boxed cake mix mainly for convenience and
there's so many things you can do with it. It is cheap, easy and fun.
Introduction
Attention getter: do you love desserts? Are you an expert baking
cakes? Or maybe would you like to learn how to bake a delicious
cake?
Reveal your topic: I will demonstrate you how easy can be to bake a
perfect chocolate cake step by step. It is very important to obtain a
significant knowledge that you can apply in your cooking, especially
if you have kids.
Relevancy statement: Nowadays, desserts, cakes, cupcakes and
something like that are very expensive and you only eat a little bit
from them. So you can enjoy bake with your family and spend a nice
time with them. Also if you want to decorate your final cake mix, you
can make a delicious chocolate frosting.
Credibility statement: I found some great tips to take your boxed
cake mix to the next level. These simple tips & tricks will work for pretty
much any flavor cake mix, any brand (though some brands are
better than others), and should work fine for a gluten-free mix as well.
You can also make these into cupcakes. (Cupcakes are just cake in
a cuter, mini form!)
Transition
Body
1. Main point 1: Ingredients
Lets start with the directions on the cake mix, but make these substitutions
for better cake:
Replace the oil with melted butter (salted or unsalted, just not
margarine).
Use apple sauce, fat-free yogurt, or fat-free sour cream instead of oil
to make your cake low fat!
Add an extra egg. Use the amount of eggs in the box recipe, but
then add in one more.
Replace the water in the recipe for milk or buttermilk.
*To make your own buttermilk (makes 1 cup): mix 1 cup milk and 1
Tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice. Let stand for 5 minutes.

2. Main point 2: Procedure
It is time to start with the process.
Perfect Chocolate Cake (from cake mix)
every box cake recipe is similar, but check your mix for specific
measurements!
Buy in the supermarket 1 Devil's Food cake mix (Betty Crocker,
Duncan Hines, and Pillsbury are my favorites). Then put the content of
the box in a big bowl.
Add 4 eggs (use the amount of eggs in the box recipe, but then add
in one more)
Add 1/2 cup melted butter (substitute oil in the box recipe)
Also, add 1 1/3 cup milk (substitute water in the box recipe)
Mix and bake according to box directions. Be careful, you should
avoid lumps in the mixture. Put it in a mold; this they can be circular or
in a square form. Finally, Baking time and temperatures should be
listed for cakes, cupcakes & bundt cakes.

3. Main point 3: Add a delicious complement in your chocolate cake; a
chocolate frosting.
Who doesn't love chocolate frosting? Outside of a steaming hot mug of
cocoa, chocolate frosting is one of the best ways to enjoy this edible
equivalent of love. Keep reading for a few easy homemade chocolate
frosting recipes to complement any cake, cupcake, or dessert. Frosting: it's
delicious, easy to make, and one of the most important of all the food
groups.
3.2. Main point 3.1: ingredients
The ingredients that you are going to need are these:
1 cup of granulated sugar.
6 tablespoons of butter or margarine (softened).
1/2 cup of cocoa powder.
1 cup of powdered sugar.
1/3 cup of milk (whole or 2%not skim).
1 tablespoon vanilla extract.

3.3. Main point 3.2: Procedure
1. Cream butter. In a large bowl, whip butter at medium speed with an
electric mixer, or with a whisk, until it is fluffy.
2. Blend dry ingredients. In a small bowl, sift or whisk to combine cocoa
and granulated sugar.
3. Combine ingredients. Add the cocoa/sugar mix alternately with milk.
Do not add too much milk, or the mixture will become too thin.
4. Beat until the mixture is spreading consistency. If too thick, add more
milk, one teaspoon at a time. If too thin, add more cocoa/sugar
mixture.
5. Add powdered sugar. Whisk in the powdered sugar, blending well so
there aren't any clumps.
6. Spread it on your cakes! (Or just eat it with a spoon!) Have fun and
enjoy the delicious taste of this special treat.

4. Main Point 4. If you want you can fill your sweet chocolate with
caramel.
Main Point 4.1. Ingredients
Can sweetened condensed milk.
Main Point 4.2. Procedure
We have to fill a bowl of water until it completely covers the
pot of condensed milk. I do it with a pressure cooker because
it's faster, but can be done in any normal pot.
We have to remove the condensed milk paper. We should
introduce the can in a laterally form.
We let boil for 30 minutes if it is a cooker pot, and 40 minutes if it
is a normal pot.
Never open the pot when it is hot.

Conclusion
Here's a few tips to help your cake come out beautifully (I'm not a cake
professional, but these tricks work for me):
Don't overmix. This will get too much air in the batter and can cause
the cake to collapse.
Test your cake for doneness by inserting a tooth pick in the center. If it
does not come out clean, then bake the cake for a little longer.
Get an oven thermometer (they are under $10) to check the
accuracy of your oven temperature. If the temperature of the oven is
too high, your cake could rise too rapidly, then sink in the middle. Too
low and you'll have an undercooked cake. Yuck.
I know it's fun to watch a cake bake, but resist opening the door.
Checking on the cake before the batter is set can cause the cake to
sink.
Closing: Now, it is ready to eat and I can resume this in three words, easy,
delicious and quickly. Enjoy it!
