Introducing Access Safety Services
Access Safety Services (AS Services) is a vibrant,
energetic leader in the safety industry, providing you
with a one stop shop in the safety industry. Safe
access should be the prime consideration and
responsibility for any work place or site. We are one of
the few companies in our industry that carries out all
aspects of our work in house. We understand that
sometimes it can be difficult to find the right
equipment or skills to ensure that you can maintain a
safe environment for both your employees and
members of the public. AS Services can assist you with
a range of products and services aimed at achieving
this goal.
We understand that in todays building and design
environment it can be a tough time for not only
builders, but for architects, building owners and
managers. Changes in Workcover, duty of care and
OH&S means that everyone needs to be constantly on
the lookout for potential accidents and provide a safe
working environment. Our products and services
enable clients to meet not only their OH&S, WorkCover
requirements for height safety, access and fall
protection but also those for quality assurance. All of
our anchor points and static lines come with a dated
compliance plate and we also provide you with a
written report for your records.
Importantly all of our work currently complies with
the Australian Standards.

A proven history
AS Services has 23 years of business experience and
currently employs 20 staff members. The company is
independently owned and provides services and
products to a range of clients across Australia. The
three directors have worked in this industry for many
years and between them have over 50 years experience.
Each of our staff members is also an expert in their
field and can provide recommendations appropriate for
your needs. AS Services takes pride in having a loyal
customer base, however we are always keen to
establish new relationships. Some of our key clients
include Monash and RMIT universities, RACV, Nestle
and FPD Savilles. We are also responsible for a number
of key projects for Australian Pacific Airports.
Our Directors
The Directors of AS Services are able to clearly
understand your needs. They have worked in the safety
industry for many years and between have a large
amount of hands on experience.
Paul Curnow Has been involved in the safety
industry for over 12 years. During this time he has
worked in key areas of fabrication and site installation
as well as having extensive experience in project
management and design & consultancy. Paul is a
Company Director.
Andrew Watson Joined the company 16 years ago as
an apprentice Boilermaker. He also has extensive hands
on experience in fabrication, site installation and
project management. Andrew is a also one of the
Company Directors.
Ian Watson Has been in the industry for over 26
years. He has worked in all aspects of fabrication, site
installation and project management. Ian is currently
the General Manager of the company.

design, fabricate, install and commission quality
equipment to suit many needs. We are able to
manufacture equipment in a number of different
metals, according to specific requirements. In addition
to safety design and implementation, AS Services also
provides ongoing training and on-site testing. We have
been accredited to install and certify a range of
proprietary products available on the market.

A proven process
Each of our projects is expertly managed by one of our
Project Managers from start to finish. When a quotation
is accepted we complete all the design and workshop
drawings. We then organise for the design and
engineering to be checked by an independent engineer.
Following the design and engineering phase,
fabrication is then carried out in our workshop by
qualified and experienced tradesmen. Site installation
is again carried out by our own staff who have large
amount of experience in the height access and height
safety industries, as well as building sites and
maintenance sites.

All works carries out by own staff
As outlined earlier all works are carried out by our own
staff. We are committed to keeping our work in house
as much as possible and our head office is staffed by a
General Manager, an Office Manager and four Project
Managers. Within the project management team we
have the experience to offer consulting and design
services and both manual and electronic drafting.
Workshop, fabrication and site works
Our workshop is staffed by qualified and experienced
staff. In many cases the people who fabricate the job
will also install it, ensuring that the same staff follows
the job from start to finish. We find that this process
leads to greater job satisfaction for our staff, leading to
better quality work. Our workshop is a modern and up-
to-date complex of 10,000 sq ft with a storage yard of
14,000 sq ft. We are set up to carry out fabrication in
aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel. We have
equipment to enhance capabilities, which include a 100
tonne press brake, plate rolls, 6mm and 12mm
guillotines, punch and shears, a range of welders and
small hand equipment. For on site work we have a five
tonne truck and five fully equipped utes.
Ongoing testing and development of new
products
AS Services has developed a range of products of its
own, ensuring that we remain one step ahead of our
competitors. We have established a research and
development program, where we can design and test
new products. All of our new products are certified to
meet Australian Standards.
Regular maintenance and testing
In addition to new product development we can also
assist you with the ongoing testing and service for
installed products. Once static lines and anchor points
have been installed, they need to be regularly tested
and maintained to meet current Australian Standards.
As part of our service, we can remind you when your
installed system is next due for review.
