Overview
*n this practice+ you create a ob (roup to store supplementary roles re,uire) 'or your enterprise.
You store all stan)ar) obs in Oracle HRMS+ those obs that )e'ine the role the person must
'ul'ill+ in the -e'ault HR Job .roup. The application automatically creates this ob (roup 'or
your business (roup an) )isplays your business (roup name as the ob (roup name. The HR
-e'ault Job .roup is business/(roup/speci'ic an) there'ore all obs hel) 0ithin it are only
a1ailable 0ithin your business (roup. .lobal ob (roups only apply to supplementary roles
0ithin Oracle HRMS+ an) Oracle 2roects.
You can set up a))itional ob (roups to store supplementary roles that your employees mi(ht
'ul'ill. These a))itional roles can result 'rom a company/)e'ine) initiati1es li3e a 'ire 0ar)en+ or
'rom a le(islation+ such as health an) sa'ety representati1e. You can create ob (roups speci'ic 'or
your business (roup or a1ailable across all business (roups in your enterprise usin( the HR4Cross
$usiness .roup pro'ile option. *' the pro'ile option is set to Y then you can either select your
business (roup+ or lea1e the 'iel) blan3 to create a (lobal ob (roup.
5ote4 The obs 0ithin the master ob (roup can ha1e obs 'rom other ob (roups mappe) into
them usin( Oracle 2roects. *' you set the HR4Cross $usiness .roup pro'ile option to Y+ then
you may only ha1e one master ob (roup across the system. *' you set it to 5+ then you can
ha1e one 'or each o' your business (roups.
You can use the Job .roup 0in)o0 to set up an a))itional ob (roup to store supplementary roles
'or your employees.
