Describe the conditions in the Philippines before the outbreak of the revolution.

In your opinion which of the

causes of the struggle oppressed the Filipino the most? Why?

The condition of the Philippines before the outbreak of the revolution was very pitiful. It was because
Philippines was under general dissatisfaction among the the filipinos, since the government spent most go
the money/millions of pesos for the navy/military forces and really small amount for public improvement
and beneficiaries for the filipinos. There were very few filipinos who were gainfully employed , common
people are suffering from heavy floor and there were less economic opportunities for the Filipinos to earn
money. Inequity and abuse acts oppressed the Filipinos the most because before the rapacity, cruelty and
abuses of the spaniards started, the Filipinos gave their devotion and fidelity that they requested ,but as the
time pass these were just taken for granted which made the Filipinos feel the feeling of being worthless.
Spaniards are being inhuman and unfair to the Filipinos, they gave their dignity, trust and assurance
believing that they're gonna be free and treated equally but in return they receive agony, sorrow, dishonour
and torture.

Why did the Governor Ramon Blanco declare martial law in the 8 provinces of of luzon? What are these
provinces?

Gov Ramon Blanco issued a decree declaring a state of war in Manila and seven provinces of Luzon- Cavite,
Laguna, Batangas, Bulacan, Pampa nga, Nueva Ecija, and Tarlac and put them August 30, 1896 under
martial law a few hours after the Battle of Pinaglabanan. Governor Ramon Blanco declared martial law in
order to prevent the revolution/revolt to the eight provinces prompting the Spanish Governor Ramn Blanco
to declare a "state of war" in these provinces and place them under martial law. This serves as a warning to
scare people into submission.
Explain why Bonifacio went to Cavite. Was he right in going to Cavite? why? What kind of character did he
show in going to Cavite?
Bonifacio himself wanted to gain freedom from the Spaniards. He was deliberated to gain independence
through the work of Jose Rizal. Bonifacio was requested to go to Cavite to settle down the rivalry of two
fractions: magdiwang,(started by Mariano Alvarez) and Magdalo (official led by Baldomero Aguinaldo),
which led to several triumph. When Bonifacio arrives in Cavite, he arrange a assemble to determine whether
the katipunan should be transformed into another body with governmental powers. Magdalo favoured the
change in the katipunan structure while Magdiwang favoured the retention of the katipunan, but in the end
there were no result from this assembly. Bonifacio should that he is a strong leader who can always listen
and has achieve fair and equal representation for all its members.
Why was Bonifacio tried and executed? was his execution just? why?
On April 26, 1897, Bonifacio was arrested. Tried by a military court in Maragondon, Cavite, for only 12
days, he was charged with treason for trying to overthrow Emilio Aguinaldo and his government. In my
opinion Bonfacios trial is just inequitable/unjust for the reason of not respecting his decisions and wants as
he was the creator/founder of the Katipunan. He showed great respected to his members but in return they
didn't even listen to his reason for his actions, and to think of it Bonifacio did it to truly help and make a
change to the group.
Why was the truce a failure?
The failure of the pact of Biak na Bato was due to the non-fulfillment of the spanish government of some of
their promises like: not paying the 200,000 pesos for the amnesty of rebels. It was also because of the
Filipinos lack of trust to the Spaniards sincerity or simply to be said Bad faith on both sides ultimately
cause the truce to fail.Instead of solving the problem, the pact of biak na bato was a failure and so, the
fighting continued and even worsened.
