I selected the EDCI 51300 Final Project as an artifact. This project involved the
identification of an Instructional Problem that was clarified and further refined with an
extensive literature review. My project focused on overcoming the problem of high
attrition within many online programs in higher education. Concluding from the
literature review revealed an overwhelming common thread that many online students
felt isolated socially within the online environment. So, my research focused on how to
seamlessly implement a social element into the online learning environment to satisfy
the social component that was lacking to alleviate the higher than normal attrition rates.
I explored how other online developers were using Web 2.0 tools to get students to
engage with one another socially and how these individuals were successful in bridging
the gap.
Demonstrates ability to describe fundamental theories of human learning

I selected the conclusions of my research on effective sales associate training (EDCI
53100) to demonstrate implementation of describing fundamental theories to human
learning in a real-world context. Within this study, I identified a training issue where the
stakeholder desired to increase their sales associates attachment rates on cell phone
accessory sales. This involves a standardized rate in which each sales associate is to
attain in relation to attaching accessories to each of their cell phone sales.
Reflecting on constructivist theories of learning, I was able to design an effective plan to
satisfy the stakeholders goal of increasing attachment rates while simultaneously
making the training engaging and assisting the participants to transfer the knowledge
that was obtained in the training program to the sales floor.
Applies knowledge of human learning, diversity, and effective pedagogy to
solution of problems

I selected the Major Project from EDCI 58800 to demonstrate competency in applying
knowledge of human learning, diversity, and effective pedagogy to solution of problems.
Within this assignment, I was able to look closely at the problem, identify all of the
stakeholders, and to provide a pedagogical solution to satisfy the needs of the
stakeholders. This included primarily focusing on motivational factors that would
increase the likelihood of sales associates increasing their performance.
