1. The head lamp reflector of a motor car has a maximum rim diameter of 130 mm and
maximum depth of 100 mm. Draw the profile of the reflector and name it.(10)

eccentricity is 1.5. Draw the tangent and normal to the curve at a point P distance 50mm

12. Construct a hyperbola when the distance between the focus and directrix is 40mm and the
eccentricity is 4/3. Draw the tangent and normal at any point on the hyperbola.(20)
13. Draw the involute of a circle of 40 mm diameter. Also draw a tangent and normal to the
curve at a point 95 mm from the centre of the circle.(20)
14. A coin of diameter 50m is rolling on a horizontal surface of a table without slipping. Draw
the path traced by a point on the circumference of the coin for one revolution and name the
curve. Also draw a tangent and normal to any point on the curve.(20)
15. Make the free hand sketches of the front, top and side views of the object shown below.



16. A coir is unwound from a drum of 30 mm diameter. Draw the locus of the free end of the
coir for unwinding through an angle of 360. Draw also a normal and tangent at any point on
the curve.(20)

17. The eccentricity of the curve is 5/3. The distance from the focus to the vertex of the curve is
30 mm. Draw the curve and also draw tangent and normal for any one point on the
circumference on the curve(20).

20. A circus man rides a motor bike inside a globe of 6 m diameter. The motor bike has the
wheel of 1 m diameter. Draw the locus of the point on the circumference of the motor bike
wheel for one complete revolution. Adopt suitable scale. (20)
