Through Softlink via MODBUS Through Softlink via MODBUS Through Softlink via Modbus Main PLC PCU room number 5 contains main PLC consisting of CPU, Communication and 110 Modules. It has Mod bus serial ports which communicates with slave stations such has Weather Station, Energy meters, string boxes etc. The hardwired signals form RMU, Transformers, Inverter, Fire Alarm and Protection for monitoring are connected to I10 Modules which are mounted in Main PLC rack. SCADA System An Window based software is installed in work station, which will communicate with Main PLC and PLC (RTU) using Fibre Optic Ethernet network. PLC (RTU's) Eight numbers of mini PLC's or RTU's will be installed in each PCU room except PCU room number 5 where Main PLC is installed. A Mini PLC consists of a base unit with 24 Digital inputs, 16 Digital output and communication adapter. Each PLC is mounted in the Control Panel which consists of Ethernet Switch and Patch Panel. All the hardwire connections from Inverter, RMU, String box & Transformer etc are connected to the (RTU) controller. Each (RTU) is having the Modbus (RS485) communication capabilities. String Box & other Modbus devices are communicated to the (RTU) using RS485 port. The monitoring data from (RTU) will be communicated to SCADA over fibre Optic Ethernet network. System Architecture The system consists of Ethernet network to communicate to the SCADA station; the data's from the main PLC & (RTU) are communicated via Ethernet network. The devices with Modbus communication capabilities under each PCU station are communicated to the fRTU) which is placed in the each PCU area. Refer to the System Architecture for more details.
