Senator Ken Paxton is taking advantage of his convincing primary and runoff election
victories and heading toward a dominant general election win. While he certainly has room
for growth, the fact Paxton is already exceeding 50% of the vote illustrates his strength as a
candidate. These data show Paxton is well on his way to becoming the next Attorney General
of Texas.

Methodol ogy
On behalf of Senator Ken Paxton, Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research conducted a study
of likely voters in Texas. Respondents were screened to ensure that they were neither a
member of the news media nor a public relations company. WPA selected a random sample
of likely voters from the Texas voter file using Registration Based Sampling (RBS).The sample
for this survey was stratified based on gender, age, ethnicity and geography. This
methodology allows us to minimize post-survey weighting which can reduce the reliability of
survey results.

Respondents were contacted by phone via a live telephone operator interview August 24-26,
2014. The study has a sample size of 1,003 likely voters in Texas with a margin of error of
3.1% in 95 out of 100 cases. Twenty-four percent of the calls were completed to cell
phones.
