Habakkuk Week 2
September 3rd
This Weekend.....
Many of you supported Jaymi Nettleton
with prayers, and nancial support as
she went to Tennessee to serve as a
leader with Campus Outreach. God did
some amazing things and she will be
here to share those at the 10:45 on
September 7th. Come cheer her on!
Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that
they may be saved. (Romans 10:1)
A number of years ago I used the term brothers and sisters,
referring to Jewish people, and someone rebuked me. They are
not our Brothers and sisters in Christ, and that was true. From
there I began to wrestle with this idea of who is our brothers
and sisters.
I came to see that if we only live in the height of salvation and do
not remember the depths from which we have been saved, we
will rightly forever celebrate our salvation, and wrongly forget the
sin that we were saved from. Ultimately, this will lead us to
marginalize the unsaved as sinners apart from us, and not
sinners like us.
Paul is a man burdened who carries that load in prayer to God.
His prayer is that the Jews might be rescued. He is saying, you
are in grave danger, both spiritually and eternally, and my prayer
is that you would be rescued from this danger that you are in."
Pauls desire translated into action. He didnt just "care," he
prayed, and he prayed very specically for their salvation. Paul
is personally, passionately, and intimately involved in his
pleading for Jewish brothers. Are we passionately and
personally pleading for the the lost? Until we see them as
brothers, you wont pray this way for them. We might pray for
them, but will we PLEAD on their behalf?
There is no shortage of places that we see the call to Pray for
the peace of Jerusalem. I believed that Paul prayed this, but
not in the sense of an absence of war, oppression, or strife. He
prayed, instead, that the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, would
reign supreme in the hearts of those in Jerusalem. Thus,
bringing an undenable peace.
The nal and supreme purpose of Paul's prayers were directed
towards the salvation of his unsaved brothers. That they may
be saved the whole direction of his petition to God.
Peace (the absence of war) cannot save Palestine, Iran, Iraq,
North Africa, India, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Syria, Ukraine. Let
alone Israel. Salvation in Christ, safety from an eternal danger
danger far worse than falling rockets, should be the pleading of
our hearts for our brothers and sisters.
Jesus, We plead that you might blow like a fresh wind into that
old city of Jerusalem. Bring sight to the blind, hearing to the
deaf, that the lame may walk again, through salvation in your
great Name. Grace Abounds, Pastor Jason.

Things are gearing up for the 2014-2015 AWANA
season. This year we are planning to have a HUGE push
in getting the word out about AWANA, so that tons of
kids can meet Christ and grow in Him every Sunday
Night. Want to help? Please see Lori Stalter, Ronda
Ekberg, Trish Barrett, or Amy Krutsinger.
We need volunteers willing to be group leaders from
5:45-7:45pm weekly.
This job involves cheering the kids on at game time,
sitting with them during council time, and helping them
with Bible memorization (listening to verses) during
handbook time. Very easy stuff that make a HUGE
difference in a childs spiritual life!
Here are some upcoming key dates:
Online registration began August 23rd.

At Community Free Church of Mahomet we believe that
AWANA is the best program to equip kids to be forever
followers of Jesus Christ. So we will continue the
program and seek the Lords provision and blessing for
it.
So would you be willing to give serving at AWANA a try?
We would love to have you and I assure you it will be a

What is Bible Study Fellowship?
BSF is an in-depth, interdenominational Bible study that helps people know God and equips
them to effectively serve the Church throughout the world.
In more than 1,000 classes in 38 countries, people of all ages, races and cultures participate in BSF,
whether they are discovering God's Word for the rst time or have studied the Bible over a lifetime.
Bible study draws us closer to God and helps us better understand Him, His Word and His love.
Through a stronger relationship with God, members have discovered how to build better and stronger
relationships with others at home, work, school and in our communities.
In the more than 50 years since our founding, hundreds of thousands of men, women and children
have participated in BSF. Many have gone on to assume leadership positions in their churches and to
serve God in other ministries.
