1. SCOPE Scope of this document is to define the contents of the project document called Loop & Instrument List, which represents the complete list of the process and utility instrumentation belonging to the plants under development in the project.
2. APPLICABILITY The requirements of this document will be applied to all the Eni E&P oil & gas and utilities development projects, with the only exceptions of Eni E&P written specification applicable to a specific project.
3. RESPONSIBILITY The responsibility for the Loop & Instrument List preparation and issuing is in charge of the Project Team/Contractor responsible for the plant development, as foreseen in the related OPDS/TMS development phases.

5. PROJECT PHASE AND ISSUE SCOPE The plant Loop & Instrument List is normally produced at each issue of the related the Process and Instrumentation diagram (PID). Therefore the same criteria for project phases and issues scopes apply to both documents.
6. CONTENT The Loop & Instrument List is produced during the definition of instrumentation and control of process and utility in the PIDs, aiming at listing all the loop and instruments belonging to the plant, included those which are not shown in the above diagrams. All physical entities under control will be listed together with the required instrumentation functions.
6.1 DOCUMENT INDEX The Loop & Instrument List document issued in the project phases shall always be structured according to the here below index, and its content shall be as described in the next paragraph.
Index 1. Scope 2. Reference documents 3. Reference tables 4. Loop and instrument list
6.2 CONTENT DESCRIPTION In the following paragraphs the description of the Loop & Instrument List content.
1) Scope Clear indication of the scope of the document, with wording like: The scope of this document is to list all the measured physical entities and their functions belonging to the plant/s as represented in the reference P&IDs or other documents.
2) Reference documents Indication of the P&IDs or other documents with the first tagging for loops and instruments.
3 ) Reference tables . Tagging of loops and of instruments requires availability of plant reference tables for facility and subfacility and for functional units. Tagging is in accordance with ISA best practice. This practice, however, has an extended range of discretion due also to the fact that it has not been updated since long, there fore not taking into account new technologies. Therefore tables for physical entities and for functions have been compiled.
Tagging is normally in accordance with ISA best practice however, due to the lack of updating of these best practice, the list of measured physical entities and their functions will be defined according to the reference tables contained in the reference document 1. 4) Loop & Instrument List information Here below the complete list of information required during the project development phases, whilst the specific data required in each phase are described in the following paragraph.
REQUIRED INFORMATION DESCRIPTION 1) Loop identification, as defined in the reference document 1, comprising: - Sub-facility (ex Subdivision) - Facility functional unit - Train number - Physical entity - Sequential - Redundancy (if required)
Notes - Redundancy is defined by means of an alphabetic character, - Redundant loop apply only to measure in the same point. - Loop sequential number may be usefully unique for facility and functional unit.
Loop identification
2) Instrument identification as defined in the reference document 1, comprising loop identification plus : Instrument function Instrument sequential number in the loop Instrument identification 3) Loop information: - Loop Description (position of measuring element ) - Transducer fluid - Pressure and temperature of transducer environment - Loop tagging document - Loop diagram - DCS System inclusion (yes/no)
4) Instrument information: - Instrument function / description - Instrument tagging document - Instrument data sheet
5) Instrument location identification Physical installation of the instrument (rack - cubicle field)

7. INFORMATION SUPPLY AT DIFFERENT PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PHASES Project phases and issues will be in accord the relevant PID.
The basic information will be added in the initial project development phases and further enriched during the following phases, as described in the here below table.

8. FINAL DATA SUPPLY FOR DBIMP CORPORATE DATABASE At the end of the design and construction phases the Contractor will transmit to Company the loop and instrument detailed information described in the reference document 5. These final data will be utilised to feed the DBIMP Corporate Database which will collect and made available for internal purposes the significant data of plant and relevant main components.
9. SUPPLY OF DOCUMENT The Loop & Instrument List document will always be included in the project document list, and as such it will be always supplied to the Company, at the end of each project phase, as specifically defined in the project Document Control Procedure.
If not otherwise defined for the project, the Line List document shall be supplied to the Company on paper and in electronic file, having format MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat, the latter obtained from scanning of original document duly filled and signed in the appropriate revision table.
The document layout will be as suggested in appendix A SUGGESTED LOOP & AND INSTRUMENT LIST FORMAT and in accordance with the Company standard format as defined in the reference document 6.
