Prologue

I have never seen either the moon or the sun, but dont feel any pity for me, no one alive has
either. Both celestial spheres were taken from humanity hundreds of years ago. The moon was
taken first. A thousand years ago, during the first two hundred years of the second millennium,
technology and scientific discoveries had propelled the Earth into what we now refer to the
Exploration Age. Homo sapiens were creating a smaller and safer world. The big questions and
mysteries of life were being answered, questions that no one should know the answer to. In the
exploration of science, God was disproved. Humanity lost any kind of perception of what was
right and wrong. The directions of the moral compass were thrown into chaos. In retaliation of
this discovery, humans lost the best parts of humanity. Love, mercy, kindness and all around
goodness was replaced with fear, hatred, cruelty and evil. Trying to regain some kind of right
and wrong, the governments of each country took it upon themselves to rewrite religion, to what
they referred to as the Amended Commandments. From then on, religion was strictly illegal, and
in place of religion, science became the only truth.
After the Celestial Theory was disproved, the world shifted. Humans no longer practiced
religion, but they still sought after answers, and the only place to turn to for those answers was
science. Humanity discovered the magic of DNA mutations, and over time, and with the
advances in medication, illness disappeared. Humans feared death even more now, since it was
proven that nothing is after the short lives that they lived. Most of the resources were focused on
cheating death, to prolong the only life humans could expect. Virus and bacteria became curable,
bones were mended in a matter of hours and not weeks, and resulting from this advancement,
humans started living to be a couple of hundred years old. During that phase between The
Exploration Age and The Vampiric Age, a great threat rose to power, an ancient civilization
called the United States of America. Seeing this opportunity to unite the country together, the
government spread propaganda, influencing its citizens that the only true science, the theories
with the only authority to distinguish what was right and wrong was theirs. With the support of
the American citizens, the United States government spread, concurred, destroyed and became
the United States of Earth. The countries that resisted were mercilessly ripped apart. Other
countries fought back and nuclear war broke out. Millions upon millions were killed instantly.
They were the lucky ones. The survivors endured nuclear winter. After the dust settled, only two
continents were able to support life, North and South America, the only land that wasnt
poisoned by radiation.
The citizens of the United States of Earth celebrated their victory, but it was short lived. Only
after a couple of years, the government collapsed. The world was thrown into anarchy. Allies
became enemies, and the world divided. Again. Lines were drawn. War broke out between the
two sides, North America was renamed The Saviors with Science. They were the source of
authority for the world, while South America and all of the humans living there became known
as the Insuborda Nation. But life continued. Society started to build again, and as the cities built
up, so did the space programs. With the limited space on Earth, it was essential for humans to
find a new home. All eyes and thoughts turned to the moon. The Saviors with Science planned to
move all of their citizens to the moon, leaving the Insubordia Nation here on Earth to rot. Once
the resistance learned that the leaders who were responsible of the destruction of their world
were now going to desert it, and move to the moon, they decided to repay the favor.
The first shuttle launched to the moon was filled with the leaders of the Saviors with Science, the
military generals and top scientists the North had to offer. A small extremist group from the
Insuborda Nation planned to suicide nuke the pioneer shuttle, killing their dictating rulers. But as
fate would have it, neither of their plans succeeded. Instead of blowing up the ship on the way, it
crashed on the moon, destroying both the ship and moon completely. The force from the
explosion knocked Earth out of its normal orbit, causing the Earth to move closer to the sun. The
Earths surface warmed. This would have destroyed the rest of humanity if the explosion hadnt
also changed the tilt of the Earth. The Earth was warmer, but the nights became longer, evening
out the temperature. With the moon gone, the night longer, and most of the light all but
extinguished, man turned to science for answers.
Scientists started to manipulate DNA, and in turn created the perfect nocturnal human. Flaws
were fixed. Skin became more durable, muscles became stronger, brains though faster and the
body was able to heal rapidly. The human eye now was reflective like a cats so they could see in
the darkened world. Over the years, all humans eventually became this nocturnal creature, and
humans ceased to be, becoming obsolete. Now we are all called Homo Nosferatu Vampiris, and
we in every sense became the vampires in the legends of old. No humanity, non feeling, hollow,
miserable violent creatures of the dark. Plants stopped growing with the lack of light, and so live
stock was dying. Food was becoming one of the most valuable idems on Earth. Panic spread like
wildfire and cannibalism was a common thing the first couple hundred years, and surprisingly,
they found out that they enjoyed blood. I guess humans were always bloodthirsty, in one way or
another. Ironically, blood became the main source of nourishment. The Saviors with Science
developed a substitute blood mixture, realizing, eventually, we would all eat each other and die
out. Cannibalism was outlawed and slowly society became rational again. Many tried to turn to
the light, but we found it too blinding with our new eyes, so we stayed in the dark, and thrived.
Over the next hundreds of years, the new dominate resident of Earth rebuilt, the desolate lands
were healed, and vampires spread out over the world. The circle of life went full cycle. Now in
the year 3021, Nosferatu Vampiris rule the world, and humans have been extinct for over seven
hundred years.
Chapter 1
By now you must be wondering who is narrating this, let me introduce myself. My name is
Valerie Valentine, I am 325 years old, and I am the top scientist for The Sire. Before you ask,
The Sire, is the oldest and wisest vampire alive today. He started as the top research scientist
back in 2225. He was the one who created the first vampire: himself. No on believed his theories,
so he sacrificed himself to help safe the rest of the world. Thankfully, his experiment was a
success. When he reviled himself as the perfect human, the rest of the world saw that his science
really was the only truth anyone could believe. To this day, he leads our people and united the
whole vampire world. He accomplished something humans only dreamt of, uniting the world as
one unit. He was not only the leader, he was the head of our Science. His science is law. He can
find the answer to anything and has the power to influence people in a way that no one else can.
He is the only truth in our dark world. Without him, our world would be in total chaos. He lives
in the capital city of Renatus, our home planet. The capital city, Urbem is located in what was
once know as Transylvania. All of the politics for our world takes place in this city. I never really
studied our laws and the process behind them, I am only focused on the furthering of our
Science.
I am the head of The Sires science department in research in Genetic Cloning and DNA
Chemical Manipulation Department. I majored at Urbem University, and now I am the head
researcher in the process of making our cloned synthetic blood. I over see the production and
visit some of our 1200 blood cloning factories all over the world. I work there with my younger
sister, Vail. She is a top scientist here as well, and majors in Animal DNA Experiments. We live
here at the capital with our father, The Sire. Being the only two offspring of the head of our
world, much was expected from us, and we were always under the watchful eyes of the residents
on our planet. So when our Sire personally asked Vail and me to complete a top secret project,
we both agreed. Unknowingly, together, my sister and I changed the vampire world.
Valerie
I woke up to the urgent pounding of fists against my bedroom door. Cursing to myself, I
shuffled across the stone flooring to my door. As I turned the doorknob and opened the door, I
saw my younger sister standing outside my door with a wide smile on her face, something only I
saw. Emotion between vampires was not forbidden, it was just uncommon. But we always had
a strong bond. We were the only two daughters of our ruler, The Sire. In our world, we were
royalty. In her hand, she had two silver challises, one in each hand. I assumed it was blood, or
my breakfast. She handed me mine, and I started drinking the crimson liquid. I winced at the
familiar, but discussing taste.
The blood we have now is only around because of the scientific discoveries makes hundreds of
years ago. The blood that we drink now was most a mixture of nutrients that we need to have
to keep our bodies healthy and functional. The formula was based off the samples of blood that
was recorded and preserved in the beginning of the ryne of The Sire. He knew that to keep the
future vampires healthy, he needed to have a source of food. But, over the hundreds of years,
the formula has become warped and compared to human blood, the blood we drink know is
closer to water than anything.
With the shortage of blood, vampires have been undernourished, and the average span of
years for a typical vampire has decreased from over three hundred years to just over a hundred
years. At this rate, we needed to find a new source of food, or perfect a new formula.
Valerie, I have some exciting news to tell you!! Vale exclaimed.
Vale, I said with an annoyed tone in my voice, its 11 in the morning, which means the sun is
up so why are you?
Can I come in? I need to tell you the news. And without my permission, Vale squeezed
between me and the door and promptly plopped down on my messy bed.
I sighed and joined my sister on the bed, sitting cross legged while she lay across the foot of the
bed. We sipped our blood for a few seconds before she reviled her important news.
Well Valerie, you know how there is a shortage of blood right?
Of course Vale, we both know this, we both are working on a solution to that problem. Or at
least we are trying. I said in a somber tone.
Well, The Sire has sent vampires all over the world, doing archeology digs, trying to find any
usable strands of human DNA. After fifty years of nothing to show for it, something useful was
found!

Well, was it human DNA?
Valerie, yes it was! Do you know what this means? We can begin to clone real human blood!
Well all be able to taste human blood for the first time! Arent you excited!
Extremely. But whos going to let us work with this human DNA Vale? That kind of
experimenting is expensive; we dont have that kind of money.
I know, but The Sire as personally asked us to clone humans so we can learn about the existent
species. And the best part is that he will fund the entire project, and on top of that, we both are
getting paid triple our annual salary if we are successful!
As I digested all of this information, I looked into the eager face of my younger sister. I knew
that if were successful, our place in society would be made, we would be the scientific minds
that brought back an existent species. We would be legends.
When do we start?

Its been three years since that morning conversation with Vale. Progress with project
humanity, for the most part has been successful. We cloned the first human about four months
into our research. The first specimen was a male, and we named him Adam. Since we were
cloning the humans, when the process was complete and all of the bodys cells were formed,
the male human was fully developed. We studied him for a couple of weeks, and found out
humans were slightly intelligent. He was able to learn our language, in both speaking and
reading. We were shocked to learn that humans were able to learn. We had always heard that
humans were stupid, that they were not able to survive as a species because they were
irrational and selfless. Before the first vampire was made, the world was at war, and humanity
had killed most of the planet and the people who had once lived on it. The more we studied this
human, we saw that they were very similar to us, in appearance, but also on the genetic
structure.
Vale took a liking to Adam right away. She kept him as a sort of pet, teaching him about our
world, while he taught us his. Vale and Adam eventually formed a kind of relationship. Its
wasnt one of love, per say, but one of mutual curiosity. They become inseparable. Since no
one knew of our research, the scandalous relationship between the two species remained a
secret.
I was ready to start sampling blood from Adam, but Vale stopped me. She refused to harm
Adam, so we cloned more humans. Each human that was cloned, a blood sample was taken.
Both of us were privileged to try blood for the first time in our lives. I still remember my first
reaction to the sweet taste of human blood. The moment the liquid touched my tongue, I felt
joy for the first time. The unknown emotion shocked me, and I knew I would kill to fell it again.
Each time I saw a human from then on, I had to restrain myself from slitting their throats,
knowing under neither their skin held the only joy I have ever known. Vale had the same
reaction, but she was scared of the violent images that sprung up in her mind. She saw the
humans as more than science experiences. She saw them as beings with fears, hopes, dreams
and deserved respect as a living creature, and not as an object to own.
But the problem started when the Sire first saw one of our human clones. One evening, when
Vale and I walked into our lab, we found The Sire and his guard waiting for us. We idiomatically
showed our respect by bowing to him and kissed his outstretched hand.
The Sire really was a breathtaking being to witness. His long straight hair was a luminescent
silver and matched his flowing beard. His eyes were a shocking light baby blue, a trait that an
only few had. When it comes to other vampires, we all had similar features. Most of us had
either silver, gray or gold tinted reflected eyes. But since The Sire was first human, then
vampire, that trait of blue eyes was passed down only through The Sires bloodline, marking his
children with blue eyes. Since Vale and I were The Sires descendants, we also had the
enlightened eyes.
He towered over most vampires he came into contact with, with his height being a towering
six foot eleven. His tall figure was dawned with a crimson and black suit, and his head was
crowned with an ever changing shimmering light. The liquid looking substance moved and
flowed around his silver head, never taking on a distant shape. The whole effect of The Sire was
one of absolute power. Once we stood up, The Sire spoke.
My dearest Valerie and Vale, I am most ecstatic for the results of all of your diligent work. I
heard that a homo sapiens was successfully created? I demand to see him, this moment. I want
to see the fruit of my investment.
Of course Sire, please follow me. I will show you to our human habitat.
We lead The Sire to the 35 humans that have been successfully cloned. As I showed The Sire
around, I relayed the information we had learned so far.
The habitat that we had created for the humans was a large artificial area that had foliage,
small caves and rock structures that were used as shelter. There is a water supply, and there a
couple of simple tools that the humans can use. For the most part, humans were barbaric
compared to our society. These human have no type of education. They have no type of spoken
language, instead, they grunt and scream. They are easily agitated, prone to violence and
become frightened when introduced to a new object they havent been exposed to before.
Their biology is similar to ours, except a few small things. Their eyes for one, are not reflected,
and they are crippled in the dark. Their bodies product a larger amount of body hair than we
do. For us hair, is typically located only on our head, and for the most part the rest of our
bodies are hairless. But humans have hair covering most of their body part. Hair is more
promenades in the males, but the females still have a considerably large amount of hair.
One of the interesting things that separate them from us is that humans have a large range of
emotions. One minute, a human is screaming and fighting, then the next, they are comforting
their mate. Unlike us humans stay with the individual they mate with for life. Vampires only
engage in relationships to reproduce. Humans use each other for emotional support, and
protection. I finish my short summary of humanity and turned to The Sire, waiting for his
approval or disappointment. But he simply said:
I want to sample the blood.
Of course. Let me get a sample from the lab. I turned to head to the store room, but was
stopped from the hand on my shoulder.
No need Valerie. I have fresh blood in front of me. The Sire gestured to the silent guards
beside him, and two of them entered the human habitat. The moment the humans saw the
door to their prison opened, they all fled to escape, but once they say the glittering weapons
the guards held pointed straight at their heads, the roaches scattered.
Bring me the biggest and strongest human. Commanded The Sire.
The two guards spotted the alpha human, and using their super strength compared to the weak
human, they had dragged him out of the habitat in a matter of seconds. Each guard held one of
his arms, with his hands behind his back so the human could not lash out. During the struggle,
the human became to scream and thrash about in fear. The Sire glided across the floor and
stopped in front of the quivering human. His hand came up to cup his face turning is head to
and from, looking at the first human he has seen in seven hundred years.
My memory must be fading, I do not remember humans being so repulsing. No one laughed
at his statement. Vampires never laughed. He didnt mean it as a joke, it simply was a though
he decided to share with the members in the room. As The Sire examined the alpha human,
and slowly took this sharpened fingernails and slit his throat from ear to ear. Blood poored
out
Valerie, in your own scientific option, can we learn anything else from studding these humans
that you havent learned already? The Sire asked me, with a questing look on his silver face.
Well, when it comes to the biology, no, we have collected all of the data that we need to start
cloning blood. But I would still like to study the humans, I want to learn about their habits, likes
and dislikes, and understand the human mind. If you would allow it, I ask if I can continue my
research. I asked The Sire humbly.
Its not necessary, my child, you have done all I asked. Start cloning blood, today. I want each
of you to make a team of your most intelligent scientists, and complete two tasks. Vale, I want
you to mass product humans. I want a thousand of them by the end of this month, and a
thousand more every month afterward. Valerie, I want you and your team to extract the blood
from half of the humans. The blood should be packaged and labeled according to the blood
type. The other half of humans, I want they to be ready to be purchased. This is a huge step in
the advancement of vampire kind. I will bring about a new age, one where humans and
vampires live in the same world. I envision a future where vampires can drink blood from
humans for the first time in seven hundred years. Imagine the revenue. What vampire wouldnt
pay top dollar to experience for the first time to drink straight from the neck of a human? Well
make so much money, and to show my thanks to you too, both of you will receive 5% of all of
the sales. Also, you both can receve as much blood as you too require, for the rest of your
existence.
And with that, The Sire left the lab, leaving behind a cold somber feeling.
I looked at Vale and she looked at me.
Valerie, we cant do this! He pretty much told us to breed humans so he can sell them like
animals. Humans are simple creatures, but they are still living beings. And what about Adam?
Hes not like these humans, hes intelligent. I cant be a part of this! Vale was beginning to
become hysterical, and I could see the sparkle of tears in her blue eyes.
Vale! Think clearly! This is a task that The Sire gave us. We cannot defy his commands. He is
our father and the most influential figure in our world. We must do as he asks, no matter how
we feel. I tried to comfort Vale by putting my hand on hers, but she snatched her hand away.
How can you be a part of this? Youve seen Adam. Hes just as alive as we are. What about the
other humans we created? Youve seen what they can do! They may be a simpler species than
we are, but that doesnt mean we can mass product them for the sole purpose of food!
