About Us
Noema Olive Oil is based on the internationally recognized
Greek word noema (=meaning), highlighting its Greek origin
and advocating its quality with its very name! Noema is a
corporation of Greek entrepreneurs, capitalizing on the
experience of five generations in cultivating and harvesting
traditional olive groves, combined with a fresh, yet solid
academic business foundation and a collection of varied
business experiences over the past years. The result is a highly
specialized, sturdy company, full of zest, creativity and potential,
with large and ambitious goals.
We reserve great respect for Extra Virgin Olive Oil, while having a
deep knowledge of and specialization in this, very sensitive,
product. Together with the experience accumulated for five
generations of Extra Virgin Olive Oil production, we have
mastered through scientific research, seminars and studies, the
optimization of production, storage and maintenance of Extra
Virgin Olive Oil, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of
its qualitative characteristics, resulting in the production of a
premium product.
Olive Oil is a commodity of everyday use, so our interest is in
selling content, not expensive containers. We dispose premium
Olive Oil of exceptional quality, striving for the optimum ratio of
price to performance. That is, we sell the best possible quality at
the best possible price. We hope our philosophy promotes the
reputation of Greek Olive Oil, this sacred product since ancient
years, and at the same time helps to restore faith in Greek
industry, which has been so brutally vilified recently by greedy
businessmen and politicians.
For us, quality is our flag.
Our Mission
Provenance
Since ancient times, the Olive Tree has provided food, fuel,
timber and medicine for many civilizations, and has been
regarded as a symbol of peace and wisdom. Our Olive Grove was
blessed to be located in the area of Pylos, Messinia. Messinia's
tradition to olive oil production goes back in the ancient years. It is
in Messinia, at the ruins of the Palace of King Nestor of Pylos,
where the word OLIVE was first found inscribed on clay tablets
with Linear B, inscriptions that date back to the 13th century BC,
while Olive Trees are thought to have originated between five and
seven thousand years ago. And it is in Messinia that, still today, is
being born one of the best Olive Oils of the world, the Single
Variety Koroneiki.
Koroni, a village at the southern edge of Messinia, gave its name
to the Koroneiki variety, the king of all Olive Oil varieties. The
reason of this supremacy is the quantity of contained
Polyphenols: Koroneiki is scientifically proven to be the variety
with the highest content of Polyphenols, this most powerful
antioxidant, precious ally to human organization. Not
surprisingly, in recent studies, Koroneiki from Messinia resulted
the No 1 in Polyphenols concentration compared to the world's
average, due to micro-climate conditions, to particular local soil
elements and to the unique cultivating method applied by local
farmers.
The sacred soil of our Olive Grove, outside a village close to
Pylos, has been meticulously cultivated since our great-great
grandfathers with tradition, care and respect. Still today, little has
changed in this scenery: Centennial Olive Trees grow calmly
within beautiful yet rough nature, treated carefully with the
utmost respect. Noema Extra Virgin Olive Oil is being produced
in this holy place with great appreciation: Nature surrounding us
could not let us do otherwise
Our Product
Noema Olive Oil is a premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil from carefully
selected and handpicked olives of Koroneiki olive trees. It is a
pure, 100% single-variety Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a unique
balance. The Olive Trees of our family owned, traditionally
cultivated, Grove are growing at the slopes in the area of Pylos,
Messinia, the place that gave birth to the Koroneiki variety.
Our Green Gold is a product of cold extraction obtained directly
from olives and solely by natural means. The processes of
harvesting and extraction are following religiously strict rules
based on tradition accumulated for five generations, taking at the
same time, advantage of all the scientific studies and
technological evolution, to end up with the finest olives' extract:
Noema Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Taste-wise, it succeeds a unique balance, with an intense fruity
flavor and medium-intensity bitter and pungent notes, revealing
its rich polyphenol content, of which we are very proud of.
Polyphenols, abundant in Koroneiki variety, make our Olive Oil
valuable to the health of those who consume it, while being
easily accepted by every palate.
Besides its health benefits, it is a unique spice that distinctly
ornaments every food, cooked or raw.
Superior quality, fine balance and unique taste, are the elements

Polyphenols
There are arguably few products that have as much positive
impact on our health as Olive Oil does. The main reason being
Polyphenols, especially Oleocanthal and Oleacein, which are
natural antioxidants scientifically proven to shield the health of
those who consume Olive Oil.
Polyphenols' chemical structure contains anti-inflammatory
agents that act as a natural ibuprofen-like substance. In other
words, polyphenols' chemical structure resembles to that of an
antibiotic, acting as a medicine to human organism and as a
conservative to Olive Oil, providing resistance to oxidation.
Polyphenols therefore, according to thousands of scientific
studies worldwide, contribute to the protection of blood lipids
from oxidative stress, cleanse the arteries, reduce total and low-
density lipoprotein (LDL or bad cholesterol) levels in the
bloodstream, while raising high-density lipoprotein (HDL or
good cholesterol) levels, reduce DNA damage, reduce
inflammation linked to diabetes and heart disease, successfully
lower the inflammation linked to metabolic syndrome, may
prevent or delay the appearance of Alzheimer's disease, improve
the cardiovascular system and lower blood pressure, balance
the bacteria in our digestive tract, improve the overall immune
system, and give to Olive Oil anti-cancer benefits. Researchers
around the world never cease to explore Olive Oil's benefits.
Recently they are even looking into Olive Oil's potential for
improving cognitive function and memory.
The contribution of Polyphenols' to our Olive Oil's taste is a
balanced but distinct, almost intense bitter and pungent (spicy)
taste that burns the throat. This wonderful cocktail of anti-
inflammatories and antioxidants has to be bitter and spicy: the
bigger the burn, the higher the content of polyphenols and
therefore, the greater the benefit to our health.

Nutrition
Olive Oil, the Cornerstone
of Mediterranean Nutrition
Storage
The Mediterranean Diet is a modern nutritional recommendation
originally inspired by the traditional dietary patterns of Greece,
Southern Italy, and Spain. The principal aspects of this diet
include proportionally high consumption of Olive Oil, legumes,
unrefined cereals, fruits, and vegetables, moderate to high
consumption of fish, moderate consumption of dairy products
(mostly as cheese and yogurt), moderate wine consumption, and
low consumption of meat and meat products.
Mediterranean Diet studies have long associated Olive Oil intake
with longevity and well being. In fact, an analysis of more than 1.5
million healthy adults demonstrated that, following a
Mediterranean diet was associated with a reduced risk of death
from heart disease and cancer, as well as a reduced incidence of
Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases. However, a recent group
of studies has provided us with a fascinating explanation of Olive
Oil's cardioprotective effect: Olive Oil supports our blood vessels
not only by providing antioxidants like Vitamin E, Polyphenols
and Beta-Carotene; Olive Oil also provides our blood vessels
with unique molecules that actually work at a genetic level to
help the cellular walls of the blood vessels remain strong.
Let us give special emphasis to the fact that the Mediterranean
Nutrition also recognizes the importance of being physically
active and enjoying meals with family and friends!
Olive Oil is quite fragile and needs to be treated gently to preserve
its healthful properties, flavors and antioxidants and to keep it
from becoming a rancid health hazard. When choosing a storage
location, one has to take into consideration Olive Oil's enemies:
heat, air (oxygen), and light. These elements help create free
radicals, which eventually lead to excessive oxidation and
rancidity in the oil that will leave a bad taste in the mouth.
The best storage containers for Olive Oil are made of either tinted
glass (proper storage of Olive Oil includes protection from light
since Olive Oil can become rancid from exposure to light) or
nonreactive metal. Both are preventing unwanted contamination
of the Olive Oil with packaging materials (as might occur, for
example, with the use of plastic bottles in which very small
amounts of plastic might migrate from the bottle into the oil).
This is why plastic containers should be avoided; oil can absorb
noxious substances such as polyvinyl chlorides (PVCs) out of the
plastic. Glass tinting on the other hand, is not always a secure
solution, protection depends upon the degree and type of glass
tinting, with UV Tinted Glass Bottles offering the highest grade of
defense. Tin containers also need a tight cap or lid to keep out
unwanted air.
Packaging
Noema Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil is available in UV Tinted
Glass Bottles of: 250ml, 500ml and 750ml, and in Metallic Tin
Containers of 5lt.
