METHODOLOGY
METHOD OF RESEARCH
This Descriptive Research was used in this study. Descriptive method of research is a fact
finding study with adequate and accurate interpretation of the findings. It describes with emphasis
what actually exist such as current conditions, practices, situations or any phenomena. Since the
present study or investigation was concerned with the effects of having friends in academic
performances of the SSC Students of Pearanda National High School Pearanda Nueva Ecija

RESEARCH LOCALE
The municipality of Pearanda was once noted for her ikmo culture and professionals
during the pre-war days. The people were described as poor and thrifty hard working and ambitious
as regards education. One could count with his fingers successful students who were not supposed
by the income from the betel leaves. The parents used to send their children in San Isidro, Nueva

After the interrupted studies of the youth during the Japanese occupation, their parents sent them

failed to sent their children to high school.

The school became a national high school during the administration of Genaro P. Isidro by
virtue of P.D. 518, Effective June 10, 1983.
Instruments of Gathering Data
For gathering data, the research needs the use of a questionnaire. After reading and
studying samples of questionnaire from related studies, the researchers prepared their own
questionnaire. They also consulted some knowledgeable people about how to prepares aspects of
the problem and to answer all the specific questions under the statement of the problem. Then they
submitted the questionnaire to their adviser for correction after it was finalized.
The copies of the questionnaire were then distributed personally by the researchers to the
respondents. After few days, all the copies distributed were also retrieved personally by the
researcher.
With the data gathered from the answered questionnaire, the researcher made summary of
the tabulated data. The outcome result were analyzed, checked and interpret.
The Respondents
The respondents were selected using the random sampling technique among the students.
The researchers used 0.05 as the margin of error and the proportion of the study population. There
are 150 total students from the first year to fourth year SSC Students in PNHS.
