Communique of Youths No One Knows

We didnt know when we came out in revolt against the ousted regime that we would all
split up after we had been one hand against oppression.
We didnt know when we went out unafraid of death and read for sacrifice that we
would wrangle with one another over superficial gains which have nothing to do with the
basic goal.
We were all nothing other than one bloc against oppression! trann! corruption! theft!
briber! isolationism! prostration to "srael! sub#ection to $merica! the ubiquitous
relinquishing of human rights and %gptians honor! torture! the squandering of scientific
capabilities! the banishing of scientists! the reign of ignorance! the gloom of realit! and
the absence of a vision for the future.
$ll of us went out! men and women! oung and old! &uslim and Christian! from ever
end of the spectrum! and all ages and groups! not one of us had an goal in mind e'cept
%gpts best interest.
%verone knew that the possibilit of death was greater than the possibilit of life! and
knew that if he didnt die beneath the boots of the Central (ecurit (ervice! he would die
beneath the wheels of their troop transport vehicles and cars! and that those who didnt
die from bullets would die from the smoke of shells past their e'piration date.
)oda after events both large and small! after referendums and disagreements! we find
that we did not reali*e an of the goals of the revolution! e'cept for the overthrow of the
ousted +resident and thwarting the plans of the old regimes pillars.
)oda we see the &uslim ,rotherhood accuse anone who sas -Constitution first. of
being in league with /ionism and $merica! while liberals accuse the ,rotherhood of
opportunism! and the accuse anone who said es to the referendum of being ignorant.
&eanwhile! the (alafis accuse al0$*har of being too la'! and the accuse the
revolutionaries of 1ul 2 of a bundle of $merican ideas! and the media accuses the
(alafis of e'tremism! fanaticism and of not belonging to the revolution from its
beginning to the its end.
We! the Youths No One Knows! do not want anthing out of the gains of the revolution
e'cept for %gpts best interest! and we do not want an of the spoils e'cept to serve
%gpt.
Nothing is dearer to us than to die for the cause of %gpts awakening! and we believe
that if %gpt hadnt stood up! then our generation and others would have died carring
out another revolution! whose revolutionaries would not fight over its spoils as in the
,attle of 3hud.
)oda we have gone out as unknown ouths #ust as we went out on 1anuar 45
th
and we
did not participate in coalitions! movements! or parties! and we returned to our labours.
We are building %gpt and we demand the following6
7. $bolition of militar tribunals for the outh! and tring them before the competent
court.
4. 3nifing the revolutionaries voice b electing spokespersons for the revolution in
order to negotiate with the &ilitar Council.
8. +urging the #udicial sstem in a wa that upholds the legitimac of the revolution.
9. )ransferring the trials of the killers of revolutionaries! and supreme officials :&ubarak
and al0$dl;! in this matter to a neutral court! and the dismissal of <$del <$bd al0(alam
=uma! who is charged of collaborating with the former (tate (ecurit.
5. Carring out the recommendations of the National >econciliation Conference.
?. )otal #ustice and speed decisions in cases connected with the rights of the martrs.
@. )ransparenc in legal proceedings.
