rocks consist o- interbe##e# shale an# san#stone 2ith occasional thin leases

basic types o- soils -oun# in Tagaytay ity belong to Tagaytay series. These
are the Tagaytay san#y loam an# the Tagaytay loam.
The central an# 2estern portions o- the city are co+ere# by the
Tagaytay san#y loam. The sur-ace soil o- the Tagaytay san#y loam is 12 to
50 centimeters #eep= #ark bro2n to nearly black= -riable an# granular san#y
loam 2ith a consi#erable amount o- +olcanic san#. The subsoil is #ark bro2n
to +ery #ark bro2n an# +aries in te&ture -rom clay loam to clay. 7t is

8n the other han#= the eastern portion o- the city is co+ere# by
Tagaytay loam= 2hich has a sur-ace soil consisting o- a 15 to 354centimeter
thick layer o- bro2n to #ark bro2n loam containing more or less !ne san#y
