The piece has seven different linked sections, evolving from the first one - a frenetic, ardent, rapid, strong and loudly section
to the last one- deep, mysterious, far-of and slow selection - a metaphor of a galaxy, which the structure is evolving from a hard incandescent
core, to remote , extinguished planets and cosmic dusts.
"Galaxy-Reflection is organized on the principle of prime numbers.
Also, each explosion of rhythms is followed by a continuously shape, a passive part proportional with the scope of the active discontinuous
precedent rhythmic structure.
The score is written in free proportional system. That means that the distance (on horizontal) between the events determinates the time of
the work, but this in a free, intuitive way, not in millimetres. characters,
The work explores the relationship between discontinuous events (hits) and continuous-like ones: tremolo, bowed sounds, chimes sounds.
The discontinuous events are conceived in particular rhythmical groups - like rganized on a series of prime numbers.
There is a predetermined relationship between the number of discontinuous events and the length of the continuous ones, which follows.
(generally placed to the corner on the right of a line) = approximate length of the line. For the continuous events, the
duration
is also marked (in seconds) on the top.
do not confuse 1 :
the use of the figure 17 which marks the number of discontinuous events with:
2.
where 20"marks the duration of the" rullo "- 20 seconds.
- The dimension of the circle corresponding to a note is proportional as well with the strength of the hit (more the circles are large more the sounds are stronger) than
with their duration: smaller circles corresponds to faster rhythm. Thus, the group of the prime numbers which forms the rhythmic matter of the piece are always irregular
groups, whose interior rhythm is never made by identical values.
- -Absolute interdiction to play any rhythmic group in a mechanical, regular way.
- -For the continuous events, the transformational principle is ruling : the sound must perpetually evolve, by changing dynamics and the color, by the modification of all
the parameters implied in the production of the sound: pressure, position of the stick on the instrument, glissando of the pedals, etc...
