Sky will be cloudy. There will be heavy rainfall and wind in coming days. Maximum temperature will be 32C
and the minimum temperature will be 24C. Relative humidity will be 80-90%. Wind speed will be 008 kmph.

Early transplanted crop is in tillering stage. Banana crops are at its different growth phases. New planting can
be done in tree crops. There should not be water stagnation in the planting pits/basins. While planting
grafts/buds, care should be taken to keep the united part above the soil and do not to allow any sprouts below the
union. Spraying if any may be done only when the sky is clear.

If stem borer attack is seen, apply Takumi

@3g/10ltr and if blast disease is seen apply Bavistin

@ 2g/L

If leaf folder attack is seen, unfold the leaves by rolling thorny wires/twigs over the canopy. If the attack is
severe spot spraying of Takumi

@3g/10 ltr of water is also advised. Attack will be more in early shade falling
locations of the field.

Apply fertilizer on non-rainy days. A palm of one year old requires 360g Urea+ 590 g single super phosphate
+670 g potash per year. Out of this, apply one third portion now and the rest during Sep- October. For two year
old palm give double dose and from third year onwards give thrice the dose mentioned above.
If stem bleeding is seen, chisel out the affect parts and apply contaf @ 4 ml /1 ltr of water.

Closely watch the trees for early detection of stem borer attack if any. If attacked, chisel out the grubs and swab
the tree trunk with Carbaryl WDP @4g/L of water. Maintain field sanitation.

Remove the mulches at the onset of monsoon and adopt complete field sanitation. Apply Trichoderma
inoculated farmyard manure to the crop basins. Spread lime also in the basins (@500g/vine)

Robusta, Poovan, Njalipoovan, Palayankodan can be planted now. Hanging leaves may be removed and clean
the fields and observe for borers. If any incidence, swab the pseudo stem and fill the leaf axils with diluted
carbaryl (@ 2g per litre of water). Cover the bunches of Nendran banana using thin polythene sheet to protect the
bunches against bird attack. Give support to Nendran banana to prevent lodging.

Keep vigilance on appearance and spread of Mahali disease. Apply Bordeaux mixture to the inflorescences.

Prepare for the cultivation of monsoon vegetables. It is good raising seedlings in poly bags filled with potting
mixtures and transplant to the main fields when monsoon arrives. To check soil borne pathogens apply
dolomite/lime in the soil. Also use Trichoderma inoculated farm yard manures.

Location specific vaccination and de-worming have to be given with the consultation of nearby veterinary
doctor. Spray copper sulphate to kill snails so that panda worms can be controlled. Keep the surrounding dry and
clean. The litters in the poultry house should be kept dry and turned frequently.
