Since the 1980's the RMG sector has made remarkable strides to become the current 2nd largest supplier in the global apparel
market. Ith exports all renowned hrand labelled garments with high quality standard.Over the years the priority in the RMG
sector has shifted increasingly towards social compliance,CSR, best practices in human resourse management and the recent
green business initiatives to ensure future competitiveness in the global economy.More and more awareness on these issues
has made revolutionary changes in how garments industries are run.
Now it has become essential for parctitioners in the garments industry to be aware about social comliance,human resource
management and local labour low to ensure the hightest quality in products and adhere to international standards. To train
professionals who can facilities in reaching comliance standards in the RMG sector,BGMEA,CBIFT and GIZ have put their
hands together to start a new Diploma course on Social Comliance with Bangladesh Lobour Law & Houman Resource
Management in Chittagong.It will be a sweet blending of Social Comliance,requirements of HRM and Local Labour Law which
will benefit business enterprises not noly in RMG sector,but of any kind. This program is conducted under the Promotionof
Social and Enviromental Standards (PSES) in the Industry commissioned under a bilateral argreement between Government of
Bangladesh and Germany an implemented by GIZ(www.giz.de/bangladesh).
This diploma course is designed in a style to meet the requirement of social compliance, Bangladesh Labour Law and houman
resourse management. Admin/HR/Compliance officials or Managers/leaders of any organisation who wish to fulfill a
professional career demand and gain in-depth knoledge on this issue will be highly benefited through this course. Apart from
classroom exercise, participants are required to attend a programme of one month internship in a garment factory where they
will learn to conduct factory audit and suggest curative measures.At the end of the period,they have to submit a social and
enviromental audit report on initial findings, recommendations and improvements achieved. This internship will allow
participants to gain hands-on audi experience at factory level. The training methodology,case studies, self-assessment and othr
participatory methods.
The course is designed to develop professional knowledge and skills required to :
Recognize the problems of social compliance and prescribe corrective and/ or preventive actions.
Conduct factory audits and write audit reports.
Create awareness on Social Compliance.

Recruitment & Selection, Performance appraisal, understanding human behaviour, Perception and personlity, Attitude
Job satisfaction, Leandership and Team building, Motivation, Communication, Conflict resolution, Employee
Counselling.
Banagladesh Labour Law & Industrial Relations: * Introduction to Banagladesh Labour Act 2006.* Scoper of BLA 2006.*
Child, Young and Adult workers * Forced labour, * Discrimination,* Harassment & Abuse, * Classification of workers &
Probation period,* Appointment letter, ldentity Card & Service book, * Retrenchment and Discharge,* Misconduct &
Punishment procedure Dismissal,* Termination of employment,* Grievance procedure,* Working Hours & Weekly
holiday, * Leave & Holiday,* Maternity leave,* Definition-time for wage-deduction of wage-Death benefit,* Provident

Social Compliance and International Standards: a. Introduction * History of Social compliance * Introduction to CSR and
its scope in RMGC * Compareison among intrnational standards and Bangladesh labour Act 2006. b. Factory
Monitoring : Preparation for audit-Opening Meeting, Plant visits, Review of documents, Employee Interview Preparation
of Corrective Action Plan, Closing Meeting. c. Familiarisation of International Standards : WRAP, BSCI and SA8000.
